We loved the location in a golf course with free pool access. It was 15 minutes from Cade’s Cove. Lots of wildlife in the area.
It needed a thorough cleaning. Dirty air ducts, hair and soap in shower, mystery stains (that could have been washed out) on comforter, and old rice on placemats on table...
I messaged owners twice requesting directions for checkin before arrival, but no answer. When I called the number a week in advance, I got right through. Check in was easy as we picked up a package with keys and directions a couple miles from the cabin. The staff was friendly and helpful. Neither key worked, but when we called they got it worked out. The WiFi password was also wrong, but we found the correct one on the bulletin board in the kitchen.
The glass shower door was broken down the entire time. I alerted the owners the first day of our stay— 3 out of 4 of the rollers were broken off of one door. The microwave/light/vent above the stove didn’t work, but there was another microwave there to use. Several light bulbs were burnt out.
What we loved: location, neat surroundings, outdoor screened porch to enjoy cicadas, crickets, and fireflies. Roomy bedrooms, wood fireplace, large bathroom, comfortable living room, roof over parking area, large refrigerator (but ice maker didn’t work) and good counter space, toaster oven, and toaster, (bring your own can opener and trash bags). Very limited dish and laundry soap. They gave 3 rolls of TP for the week and a few tiny bars of soap. There were only enough towels for 1 per person. 2 dishwasher soaps for the week. Limited pots and pans.
Would I rent again? Maybe. Meh.
