Elegant apartment with a suggestive furnished terrace overlooking the sea and the historic center of Palermo, inserted in the monumental context of the ancient fifteenth-century walls of the city, in the ancient Arab quarter of Kalsa, on the ancient promenade. The apartment enjoys an exceptional sea view, has a double bedroom, a bathroom with window and whirlpool tub, a living room with an equipped kitchen and a comfortable sofa bed, where you can stay and eat meals, a room with a only bed and small w. c., and above a splendid terrace. Attached to the apartment there is a small annex with a double bedroom and w. c. shower, independent from the apartment (for a total of 7 beds). Being inside the walls, the apartment enjoys a great tranquility and is located in an elegant and well-kept context. The apartment is equipped with every comfort: wifi system, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hairdryer, dishes and linens, and is furnished with care and elegance, and has been recently restored. The area is of great historical and monumental interest, surrounded by beautiful villas (villa by the sea, Villa Giulia, Botanical Garden, Villa Garibaldi), by museums (Palazzo Abatellis), by very important churches (Chiesa della Maggione, Chiesa della Gancia, Chiesa della Catena) ... ..), from buildings of historical interest such as the Crociferi, Lo Spasimo, Lo Steri (seat of the rectorate), the ancient markets of Vucciria and Ballarò and in addition it is very easy to walk to Piazza Pretoria, the Quattro Canti di Città and all the major attractions of the historic center such as the Teatro Massimo. The neighborhood is also at the center of the Palermo nightlife with bars, restaurants, typical restaurants and trendy clubs. In the neighborhood there are small shops. It is possible to walk to the central train and bus station and the Cala Marina. The city port and the entrance to the highway towards CT are a few Km ... We do not rent for parties, meetings, parties.

Historical Sicily

Walking distance to most historical sites.Great views from the property. All food, especially street food, best so far in our EU stays over the last 3 years of travel. Buses/Trams very good for getting around in Palermo.

Everything is perfect about the stay. Highly recommended, not in the middle of the tourist area but quite close if you want to get there. Sea, a lot of attractions, quiet, and beautiful. The owners are terrific.

Comfortable flat with stunning rooftop terrace.

This place has it all—very comfortable with all amenities, a great roof garden where you can eat or just relax while gazing out at the harbor, a responsive and energetic host, and a superb location in the arty Khalsa district. We hope to stay there again.

Great place to stay

We really enjoyed staying at this location. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee on the rooftop terrace. It was in a good location so they we were close enough to walk to everything we wanted to see in Palermo, but on the outskirts of the city to get away from everything. Igea was great at showing us around the apartment as well as telling us suggestions of what to see while there. Overall great stay, thanks!

Our apt was ideally located and Fazio was the perfect host. He helped us track down my husbands missing iPhone. That was amazing. Property was roomy and clean, walking distance to everything.

Excellent stay by the water

We have an excellent stay at this beautiful property. Our host offered us a brief introductory tour of the apartment upon our arrival, and during the week was very responsive to questions. It was wonderful to be in the city, but not stuck in the city center with constant noise. We would love to return!

Very nice apartment in an old building located in the historic center. Within walking distance to restaurants and transportation to tourist attractions. Enjoyed the rooftop patio overlooking the park and waterfront especially at the beginning and ending of the day.

Lovely apartment with panoramic terrace

This is a very nice place to stay in an excellent part of Palermo, close to town looking over a park and out to sea. The large roof terrace is a particular feature, with panoramic views. It is a spacious property with generally good facilities, and the owners are easy to communicate with, gave good restaurant recommendations and were helpful when a previous guest had turned off the boiler so we did not have hot water - easily rectified! A couple of points - the kitchen is a little dated, but has most things you need, the other thing to bear in mind is that the apartment is next door to a restaurant which can be quite noisy - but fine if you do not go to bed before 12 or 1am on holiday.

Perfect place to stay in Palermo

The apartment in Palermo was great. It had a great kitchen and living room with a view of the water. The deck was perfect with lots of plants and a great view. The location was perfect for walking around Palermo. The apartment was also very quiet due to the thick walls.

Wonderfull

Everything was great. Our flight was delayed and we came very late, Igea waited for us and gave a very detailed explanations on the property. The terrace is so beautiful, I did not want to leave. Very close walk to the main street in the old city. Highly recommend!

Well-equipped apartment in a great location

I enjoyed everything about this apartment - the location, the amenities, and especially the hostess. Igea was there to meet me and explain how to operate everything. The apartment is well equipped with full kitchen, books about Sicily, and items of local interest. There is a beautiful rooftop terrace with a great view of the Foro Italico, and it's a short walk to the historical center.

This is place to stay in Palermo!!!

Loved everything about staying here! From first contact with Igea to the minute we left, we enjoyed this property. Everything is well described in listing. Igea met us at apartment when we arrived to show us everything and had map to show us the city. She was happy to answer our questions and assist us during our stay. The apartment was very clean. Kitchen was fully equipped. We loved the rooftop terrace! Enjoyed sitting up there with glass of wine after a long day of touring.

Apartment in Kalsa a perfect location to stay in Palermo

The apartment is comfortable, charming, and has character. We enjoyed the location, within easy walking distance of Old Palermo, with its historic buildings, churches, Teatro Massimo, gardens, restaurants, cafes, and shops. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the plant-filled terrace, with its view of the water. Flavio showed us around and demonstrated all the features of the apartment. The only minor issue was that we couldn’t make the dishwasher work — however, we did not really need it so it was not a problem. We would readily stay there again.

Nice stop but bring earplugs!

It's a quirky place. Clearly very very old, so the layout is compact, particularly the kitchen, which is difficult to navigate. There's a rooftop terrace with a sea view which is absolutely tremendous. Got to watch the ferry's coming and going.It's very noisy, sadly. The sound of the main road and the restaurant below kept us awake till late. So strong earplugs recommended!Our host Flavio was great. Made sure we were ok and was quick to respond to my questions. Really nice guy. It's well situated for the sights of Palermo, so would be great for the sightseers. Palermo is very busy in general, so I suggest an early start if you want to get ahead of the crowds.Overall, a good stay. Thank you Flavio for looking after us!

Great location, quiet but close to everything.

Igea was a wonderful host. She was there when we checked in and showed us all the workings of the house. She also kept us informed of all the happenings around the town. The apartment was nicely decorated in a beautiful district of Kalsa. It was comfortable in general with a minor exception of the shower. It was difficult to take shower without flooding of the bathroom. Eventually we found the way to do it by lowering shower head and almost crouching underneath. Small price to pay for the superb location.

Perfect location

We stayed in Igea's flat for a week, and enjoyed the whole experience. The flat is lovely. It's in an historical building, right across from the waterfront. Igea and her son, Flavio, have done a very sympathetic renovation to the rooms, adding modern comforts while keeping the ancient charm. It all comes together in a very appealing manner.And the best thing about it all, is the beautiful terrace atop the building, with its sea view. We were up there several times a day, watching people at play, and boats big and small coming into the harbour. The location can't be beat. It is walking distance to almost everything, including the Norman Palace and the Ballaro Market. (Don't miss that!) There are many nearby restaurants and coffee bars. Oh, and a great botanical garden is barely a block away, a great place to go for a bit of nature's peace.Igea and Flavio rate top marks for communication, and for seeing to their guests' needs and comforts. We loved our experiences in Palermo.

Great Place/Great Host

We had a wonderful stay at Igea's place. Igea and her son were very responsive and helpful. Igea provided suggestions for entertainment, transportation, and of course the ins and outs of staying at her place such as operation of air conditioner, washer, locks, etc. Communication was excellent and we were easily able to communicate in English. The apartment was wonderful and well suited for us. The roof top patio is amazing and spacious. It provided a wonderful view of the port which enabled us to watch large cruise ships enter and exit the harbor. Across the street was a large park with walking trail. Downstairs was a convenient cafe that has really good appetizers, dinners and of course gelato. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with necessities such as soap, coffee, etc. The apartment complex was quite and entrance from the street was at ground level. Once inside there is only a few stairs to reach the apartment door. Street parking was fine. We never had a problem finding a parking spot. I will likely be back!!

The house is in the historic downtown area oldest folk and charming city . And ' restored with care, taste and elegance and has every convenience and requires constant maintenance and accurate because very old and the sea . The terrace is wonderful is often I host my friends !

What makes this property unique

The house is a historic, inside the walls and therefore can not have the characteristics of a modern apartment, but the charm of the old houses:. High ceilings with vaulted ceilings, thick stone walls 1 mt, with large windows, shutters, overlooking the sea, the historic center and a beautiful indoor atrium tranquil and lush. It 'was recently renovated with quality materials, from glass mosaic in bathrooms, floors, kitchen handmade wooden furniture, air conditioners, and has all modern amenities (hot tub, wi-fi system ....). Precisely for this reason it is not accessible to people with mobility problems or small children. It is in addition very close to the marina of Cala where you can moor, train station and bus station, the major historical sites, the most beautiful villas and churches and sea not suitable for bathing. Usually at the request and accompanied me in my car and no extra guests from the main station (easily accessible from the airport) to the house.
