The host was wonderful! The property is as advertised- steps from the beach, dining, shops. There are lots of stairs in the apartment and the scenic alleyway, so beware if you have small children, strollers or mobility challenges. It’s not particularly well stocked, so be prepared to bring or buy soap and beach towels. Collioure is a quiet village with many families, but our young adults (ages 17-25) still managed to find a little nightlife. We would absolutely come back again.
Awesome location. A bit disappointed we could not sit on the balcony. Did not realize until a week before our stay I would have to pay extra for bedding and towels. :(
We were two couples. The house is on three level with a central floor with kitchen and living area. Steep stairs but exactly what was illustrated and very quaint. All was clean and well equipped. Exceptional communication and a host willing to work with us for an early check in and late checkout. The location is perfect for easy walking to all Collioure has to offer.p, which is a lot. Would thoroughly recommend and many thanks.
My wife and I stayed for a week here. The property is in an outstanding location in town and near the beach. The property is great, with everything we needed. It’s a lovely old building, plenty of character in the hubbub of the village. I would recommend to the owners that it’s probably time to update the kitchen, bathrooms and furniture as these are showing their age now…we never managed to get the grill to work as the oven is pretty tricky to figure out! Some of the pots and pans are a bit beyond their life too 😂.
The place is generally very clean. Only comment is the oven hood was gross! The switches a sticky with grease and the filters are pretty greased up.
We did get an unexpected visitor one day when an electrician let himself in. The property manager hadn’t been told by the owner about the appointment so she was as surprised as us when we told her!
All in all, an excellent place to stay and good value. Hopefully the owners will invest in it to make it even better in future.

Not for Families with Small Children
Myself, pregnant wife, and 2 year old traveled to the property for a 29 day stay – we stayed for only 14 days. We would strongly advise anyone with mobility issues or young children against this property. The stairs are challenging and there are not continuous handrails as would be required in the USA. As to the cleanliness: The apartment was delivered broom clean – other places we stayed were delivered much cleaner. The furniture needs to be reappointed. The shelf above the bed on the top floor was broken off the wall and kept sliding down in the night like it might fall. The red chair has foam creeping out of it from the many rips in it. We finally left the apartment for good after we found the second small six legged bug crawling on my son in the living room in two days. I am not an entomologist so I can’t say what it was but we sent the host photos so they can address it. Bugscreens or mosquito nets would benefit the unit. There is no AC so windows had to be kept open and the mosquitos were aggressive in the night. It should be noted that the parking is a 20-25 minute walk from the unit. The walk to the parking is a real up-hill hike and shouldn’t be taken lightly. There is no Whirlpool Spa amenity as stated in the listing. Sophie, the host was pleasant and gave good directions and recommendations. If we had it to do again we’d probably have not chosen to try to stick it out at the property and would have moved-on sooner.

Dear James,
Thank you for your message.
I am surprised by your reaction, as I've endeavoured to meet all your numerous requests, answering the twenty or so messages and emails you've sent to me.
We regret that your experience in the house wasn't as you had hoped.
However, some of your remarks are not accurate and need further clarification.
Cleanliness is paramount to us, and we always strive to ensure this. Guests have consistently been satisfied and typically cite this as a strong point of the rental.
There may occasionally be a few insects, as is the case anywhere, but this has never been an issue and hasn't been highlighted as such. Guests who stayed both before and after you this season haven't reported anything on this matter. We didn't observe anything after your departure.
Indeed, the house isn't designed to be accessible for those with disabilities, given that it's an old fisherman's dwelling in the historic district of Collioure.
The advertisement clearly mentions that the house spans three levels and has a steep staircase that it is not ideal for very young children. Contrary to your statement, it is equipped with a sturdy handrail throughout and a safety barrier. Nevertheless, in light of your feedback, we will include a photograph of the staircase in the listing and emphasise the house's configuration concerning young children to avoid future misunderstandings.
It's also explicitly stated that there is no on-site parking, as the neighbourhood is pedestrian-only and not accessible to cars.
Every amenity that the house provides (or lacks) is clearly detailed, like the absence of air conditioning (isn’t really needed due to the house's cross-ventilation of the location on a hill with the sea right next to it). Typically, guests view these amenities positively.
As for the furniture, we're sorry it didn't meet your expectations. However, many guests often view the décor positively.
Considering your comments, it seems to us that perhaps you mistook the nature of the accommodation and possibly even the destination.
Our house is an traditional fisherman's residence in the oldest part of Collioure, not a modern, sterile 5-star hotel.
That's precisely its charm and what most of our guests appreciate.
Sincerely
Sophie and the management.

Fantastic house in a beautiful seaside town!
We stayed in a wonderful house in the heart of Collioure. The house is spread across 3 floors in a beautiful house with breathtaking views across the rooftops of Collioure, in the south of France. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious and provide everything you need for a relaxed, fun holiday. All instructions/guides are provided in English and French and the communication with the family was very friendly and easy.
The seaside town is gorgeous, fun and friendly, with a huge choice of restaurants offering delicious tapas, fish and fine dining, overlooking the bay of crystal blue sea. Walks up in the hills offer wonderful views and the shops are dangerously good - from clothes to food to oils and more.
I can't wait to go back again and highly recommend this house to anyone!

we are a family of 5 (3 children of 11, 13 and 16 years old) We are used to spend holidays in Collioure for many years. We fall in love with this house 2 years ago and come for week-ends and holidays
Why they chose this property
Beautiful place: outstanding light of Collioure that inspired many painters, the mountains, the sea... The nice and rich culture of Catatonia: food, wine... painting history: fauvism, Matisse, Derain (1905)
What makes this property unique
The outstanding location in the old town, near the sea, in a quiet street. No car.
