Marseillan waters-edge. May + July dates available.
Nestled in the Marseillan Port area this super property overlooks Marseillan waters-edge from the sunny, south facing terrace and is a gorgeous, stylish, architect-designed property with air conditioning and wifi. Newly converted from an old Marseillan wine warehouse it enjoys stunning views across the harbour entrance from the sunny south- facing terrace. Drive through France or take a flight from UK to local airport Beziers (Ryanair) or Carcassonne (Ryanair) or Montpellier (Easyjet). Also flights from Ireland, Germany, Paris and Sweden. Train from London or Paris to Sete/Agde also easy.
The property has 2 bedrooms (a good double and large twin). If you like the sun this is the property to book as there is a large terrace (as in the pictures) which faces the south and gets sun from morning until sun down in the evening, for dining/sunning and overlooking Marseillan waterside. It is ideal for a couple or small family.
Watch people strolling along the waterside from the terrace, see the yachts and barges come and go or take a stroll around the corner to the many portside cafes and restaurants.
The terrace gets the sun until the sun goes down and has a table for dining with 4 chairs and two lounging chairs. In high summer the terrace enjoys sun at the front of the terrace and shade at the back (as it often gets too hot to be in the sun all day!)The views across the waterside constantly stun.
This attractive, new property has a spacious living, dining and kitchen area: -Wifi included -Air conditioning included - a must for June, July, August and September. -New large bathroom with relaxing bath and shower over! -Fridge with freezer and washing machine. -Satellite TV with Netflix. Weather can affect reception sometimes. -Wifi is included so bring your tablets for surfing and viewing via an online provider. -Location is by the waterfront by the Port Rive Gauche and the portside cafes
Just a few minutes walk away from the property is a super watersports area with cafe. At the water sports 'Kithau' you can paddle board, kayak or learn to wind surf there is even a 'babyski' school (from 3 years). Also past here are some clay tennis courts.
If holidaying with small children there is a lovely park by the waterside just a few minutes walk with childrens climbing frame , swings, skareboard area etc and brick BBQ s for all to use.
Just past the park is a new selection of stylish but simple waterside shacks serving smoked moules, oysters and wine.
Marseillan is a lovely port and a stopping point for those travelling along the Canal du Midi. Steeped in history Marseillan is possibly the oldest village in France. The area was originally settled by the Greeks more than 2500 years ago and was a very active Roman commercial centre.
With an old village it is still relatively unknown but once you know about it beware as you will want to keep coming back! There are about 15-20 places to eat, shops selling everything you need - boulangeries, pharmacies, greengrocers, fish, meat and everyday essentials (all within a short walk).
Travel a little further afield and you can visit the old port of Sete, historical Pezenas, Carcassonne, Aigues Mortes, riverside villages, mountains, gorges and sweet villages such as Bouzigues aptly named for a bouzie, fishy lunch.
Getting to Marseillan is easy fly to 4 airports within driving distance, nearest is Beziers (20 mins drive), Montpellier (50 mins drive), Nimes (60 minutes drive) and Carcassonne (about 75 mins drive). UK flights are from Luton, Stansted, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh and more (depending on time of year). Flights with Ryanair and Easyjet. Also you can get a Eurostar train from London or Paris to Agde. Many people from the UK drive. Roadside parking is available.
Start days are flexible to tie in with flights ask by scrolling down to my name and enquiring. We can accept short breaks of 3-5 nights just email and ask.

Perfect location just around the corner from the port. The balcony faced south so had the sun and although the lagoon was to the side because the balcony extends out there was a great view of the lagoon too. Very comfortable flat.

Lovely guests who enjoyed the location of the apartment as I do when I can!
We had a great stay; the apartment is lovely, on a quiet street but just one minute's walk from the harbour with an array of restaurants. Check-in straightforward, owner very responsive to questions. Would happily stay again. A dishwasher would be a nice upgrade.
We had a very relaxing holiday. We had everything we needed in the holiday flat and the surroundings were very beautiful. We always got a quick answer to our questions.
Thank you very much
The apartment was comfortable, well equipped and ideally located for our family holiday with beaches and a range of activities for the whole family within easy reach (waterparks, bike/kayak hire, cultural sites etc.). The apartment is very close to the harbour area of Marseillan which always seemed to be a hive a activity and hosted several cafes and restaurants on the waterside. The host communicates well with good instructions on accessing the apartment and information on the local areas - places to visit/restaurants/activities etc.
Lovely apartment and excellent central location. The air con is a blessing during peak summer.Good views of the bay when you sit near to the railing.2 min walk to the port which is full of great bars and restaurants. 5 mins to all other shops, bars and restaurants. Easy free parking either on road or in the car park just around the corner.Plenty of things to go and see or do in the local area.Kitchen cooking utensils are lean but adequate for a holiday if you’re not cooking every night.I would definitely recommend.

All you need for a wonderful holiday
Everything you need for a wonderful holiday
Location is the key. The apartment is four minutes walk around the corner from the old port of Marseillan with its lovely setting and waterside bars and good quality restaurants. It is ten minutes walk into Marseillan centre with lots of shops, banks, pharmacies, bars and restaurants and a large market on Tuesdays.
The apartment is tastefully furnished and decorated; the bathroom is large and well fitted out together with a large kitchen area and all equipment. The bedrooms are good size with comfortable beds. A feature of the apartment is the large balcony with views of the waterside which is only 120 yards from the front door; it is totally relaxing to sit on the balcony whether it is for breakfast, lunch or evening drinks. From here you can see across the Etang and watch the yachts and cruisers going in and out; doing this with a drink in your hand slows you right down and leads to utter relaxation!
Highly recommended apartment. Really helpful owner. Well appointed accommodation, space to relax, all amenities minutes away and the unique atmosphere of the old Port; no wonder people just come back year after year.

Gorgeous apartment
Very stylish and comfortable apartment in a wonderful location 2 mins from the port and all its amazing restaurants. Lovely furniture, comfortable beds and fabulous balcony with view of the sea for morning breakfast and evening drinks. Amazing patisseries and shops in the town and loads to do in the area. Really enjoyed our stay in the apartment and even got a prime view of the town's firework display from the balcony one night!

Contemporary apartment in superb location
We stayed at Diane's apartment during a very hot August week. The apartment is well represented by the photos, very clean and well equipped. More like a home than a holiday apartment. Luckily the air conditioning was working well! The manager looked after us well and resolved a couple of niggles.
We travelled with bikes which we kept in the garage but plenty of parking outside for the car. We cycled every day. The circular route around the lagoon is in most places brilliant but around Sete and Meze the signage was challenging. Routes around Agde also recommended.
Marseillan is a laid back uncommercial small town with a mesmerising harbour. We spent many hours watching the boats arrive and depart and the superb sunsets.
Definitely recommend.

Well Presented Apartment In Marseillan Port.
A lovely apartment tastefully decorated as the photos show. The place was ideally situated with a large balcony looking over the entrance to the Port of Marseillan, Ideal for watching the world go by, there are a plenty of restaurants in the port and also a short walk in to Marseillan Ville where there also some quality restaurants & wine bars to choose from. The soft sandy beach is a short distance away by the water sports area on the Etang du Thau.
If you feel more adventurous the cycle paths are easy to follow into Marseillan Plage or Sete. July & August are packed full of festivities in the area great to get out and enjoy the area.
We have stayed in the area several times in the past. Fantastic base to your Holiday

Beautiful apartment with a fabulous view.
We had two weeks at Diane's apartment.
Marseillan is a beautiful little town, and the apartment is situated in the best place. Gorgeous views of the lake. And just around the corner from the bars and restaurants.
The apartment is stylishly decorated, lots of room. And supplied with everything you need for a great stay.
Diane couldn't be more helpful, especially as we are newbies to staying in gites/apartments. Thanks so much for a fantastic holiday x

A lovely place to stay
A lovely contemporary apartment tastefully decorated as the photos show. The place was spotless with a large balcony with a mixture of sun, shade and views Ideally situated next to the charming small port with a number of good quality restaurants. The soft sandy beach is a short drive away which didn't cause a problem as parking is very easy everywhere and there is a clay court tennis club just 5 minutes away.

About the host
Hosted by Diane Wray
I live in London but love Marseillan - it is my escape - to sun, beaches, boats, restaurants, cafes, lovely old villages, sailing, biking and walks along the towpath.
Why they chose this property
The view over the waterside, boat-watching and people-watching over Marseillan Port plus being south facing on the sunny side so being able to enjoy from croissant time until sundown - even February on the terrace can be warm and sunny!. I waited a long time to get a property on this side of the port and south-facing!
What makes this property unique
The large sunny, south facing terrace is a major benefit (make sure you book an apartment facing south) if you want to enjoy sun from morning to sun down and sit and ponder the world, watch the yachts and barges sail in and out of port while enjoying late breakfast of croissants and coffee, lunch or dinner on the terrace.. Also rather special and a major benefit is the large bathroom with a lovely bath for a soak after a hard day on the beach - many places in Marseillan don't have the luxury of a bath... Lastly the air conditioning is vital for May - October stays.
