The space was very unique, the Youtube vidoe to locate the property was a perfect touch and saved alot of hassle. The location on the hill was tough, you absolutely must be in shape to stay here. Over 5 flights of stairs to get from the main street tothe property... but the listing did say that. The property has a great location between The Cathedral of Notre Dame and St. James cathedral, both are stunning and it has great access to museums, food, small groceries, dhopping...just remember whatever you by at the base of the hill, you have to carry back up the many steps at the end of the day.

Perfect for the weekend

My friend and I stayed here over the weekend for a wedding. Be forewarned: there are a lot of stairs both in the way from the metro and into the apartment but never fear we came up with a fool proof way to get through the treks: play Voulez-vous by ABBA and it’ll be a breeze. The place itself was small as was to be expected but still had plenty of space for the two of us for a couple of days. It’s quiet and the bed was comfy.

Visit to old Lyon

It´s a silent apartment and very well located to reach the city centre. The online pictures don´t represent the actual state of the apartment and at the arrival we hoped not to have to contact the owner because of problems...The comunication with the owner was very fluent though. It should also be mentioned, that the apartment and especially the shower isn´t made for tall people (over 1.85 meters). The kitchen should also definetly be updated because there weren´t many plates and only two teaspoons etc.

Summing up the details

Even though we were four guests, it looked like only three were expected (e.g. number of towels). Unfortunate that the bathroom door didn't stay open (not the best seen the humidity), and when closed formed a visible gap on the side. We also had problems with the Internet, and consequently with the TV. In terms of the size we were quite cramped. Considering this, the price and the location (slightly up the hill, but really near to the old Lyon and the panoramic view at Fuorvière), according to me the place is catered for young couples.

To say our stay was riddled with problems would be an understatement. The problems began before we arrived when we realised that from the nearest metro station we would have to climb either 14 flights of stairs or walk up a large hill - all with suitcases. While the ad mentions the “heights” of Old Lyon, there is no mention of the accessibility issues in reaching the apartment. When you finally reach the building, there are 3 more staircases through a dilapidated building to reach the flat. Inside, we noticed, among other things, extensive staining on the couch, and the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept on - rather than slats under the mattress for even support, there were three metal bars from the frame that could be acutely felt through the mattress. The cherry on top: no Wi-Fi or television. The host (or their partner, I’m not sure who I actually spoke with) claimed there was a problem in the building that meant the Wi-Fi and television services were down. This implies a known and ongoing issue, which means it should’ve been communicated before our arrival along with an attempt to find other suitable accommodation. Communication from the host was unsympathetic and unapologetic. No known attempts were made to fix the issue (they said they would call a technician but no update was ever provided). Lastly, no check out instructions (or book of house rules & information) were provided, leaving us in the dark about expectations. Stay away unless you want to be scammed.

Che peccato! La stanza sarebbe anche carina, se fosse gestita in modo migliore. Posizione centrale ma veramente troppe scale per arrivare, noi col passeggino abbiamo avuto molta difficoltà e faticato ad ogni rientro. La camera veramente sporca, polvere ovunque, calzini di chissà chi lasciati sotto al termosifone, ci hanno lasciato 4 giorni con mezzo rotolo di carta igienica che ci siamo dovuti ricomprare, mai passati a pulire in questi giorni nonostante la pulizia fosse compresa nel prezzo. Ho contattato il proprietario facendo presente della pulizia e della carta e non ho mai ricevuto risposta. Anche se le foto attraggono molto, mi dispiace ma non la consiglio.

Je ne suis jamais si négatif, mais aucune réponse à mes demandes de la part du propriétaire. Pas d'eau chaude le premier jour (ballon d'eau chaude débranché!!! au profit de la machine à laver). Pas d'envoi de facture malgré ma demande. Literie plus que moyenne, douche étroite attention à la poutre je me suis ouvert la tête en tapant dedans.

Assez déçu en règle général, lors de notre arrivée nous constatons déjà que l’appartement ne ressemble pas réellement aux photos de l’annonce: beaucoup plus petit et beaucoup plus exigu et pas de luminosité ???). Ne parlons même pas de la propreté des lieux plus que moyen voire même sale. Vaisselle sale, beaucoup de poussière partout, des taches de sang sur le mur, un morceau de fromage dans les draps?? La machine à laver pleine de linge mouillé. Globalement dès que l’on toucher quelque chose on avait les mains sales. Nous espérons vraiment être remboursé, nous avons tout pris en photo.

Un studio à l'emplacement idéal mais sportif!

Au pied du jardin du Rosaire qui permet d'accéder directement à la basilique de Fourvière, l'accès peut rebuter ( notamment l'absence d'éclairage dans la galerie la nuit) c'est pourtant un bon plan. Pour une personne, deux max, et seulement pour y dormir et manger vite fait c'est parfait. Son atout majeur : sa localisation à prix abordable.

Petit appartement très calme et très bien situé. Dommage que la maintenance laisse à désirer : ustensiles de cuisines usés et spartiates, rideaux défectueux, porte et évacuation de la douche sans entretiens. Surpris aussi et indisposés par le linge en train de sécher pour les prochains locataires surtout dans ce petit espace...Malgré ces détails nous sommes très contents de ce séjour à Lyon !

Le studio est très agréable et très bien situé pour visiter Fourvière et la vieille ville.Il faut juste savoir qu'il se trouve vraiment sur les hauteurs et, qu'à pieds, l'accès est assez sportif ( 150 marches ou une belle montée avec les valises).A moins de prendre le funiculaire ( fermé en partie pour travaux pendant notre séjour).Nous avons eu des problèmes de connexion avec la wifi,que les propriétaires ont fini par résoudre.

In den Höhen des Vieux Lyon

Das Studio liegt im alten Lyon auf der Hälfte des Berges der Fouvière Basilika. Zu Fuß sollte man fit sein, da es viele Treppen zu erklimmen gibt. Die Wohnung ist unter dem Dach gelegen und entsprechend warm. 2 Ventilatoren und das nächtliche Lüften haben es erträglich gemacht. Es ist sehr schön ruhig und man kann sogar Sterne sehen. Das Studio ist charmant aufgearbeitet worden, typisch französisch blättert hier und da der Lack, die Klo- und Duschtür ließen sich nicht ganz schließen, das Sofa war leider fleckig. Ansonsten ist das Appartement praktisch ausgestattet, angenehmes Bett. Netter Service von Seife/ Shampoo, Föhn, etwas Tee und Kaffee. Besonders hat uns die Stadtnähe mit Gelegenheit zur Siesta und das abendteuerliche Video zum Öffnen der 3 Türen mit Codes gefallen.

Joli studio avec un coin chambre, bien aménagé et très bien situé pour visiter le vieux Lyon à pied. Bien isolé, les bruits de la circulation sont très atténués et durant notre séjour (hivernal) nous n'avons entendu aucun voisin.
