Rio Casita (Little River House) is located in the middle of a beautifully wooded acre of land on the pristine Blanco River. The clear, cool, spring fed river is ideal for kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying nature. Drive the short three miles along River Road that flanks the Blanco into Wimberley, and take a shopping spree through some of the most unique shops you will see anywhere.

This is a very romantic spot with plenty of privacy. The kids and pets will love it also. Walk down the easy sloping hill from your back porch and directly into the river. Great swimming and wading and a superior place to enjoy an ice cold adult beverage. It's all here, come and see!

After fun in the sun and the river, head back to the house to enjoy all the ammenities: outdoor grill, great backporch for hanging out, gourmet kitchen - everything you need, except the food. When the sun sets the fire flys appear.

We love this peaceful, lovely property so much. Some of my favorite experiences with nature have happened here the past two years. The only things I'd suggest are a more comfortable couch and more puzzles/games available (for when we're not outside). One of the bedside lamps was not functioning, but that's a minor detail. Hope to visit again many more times.

Excellent property! We brought our two big dogs and it was perfect. There was a great size fenced in backyard for them and they enjoyed going down to the river with us. Beautiful area and the house was great. Very clean and had everything we needed. We brought our 15 month old and there was plenty of room for her crib in one of the guest rooms. We’d definitely go back if we ever visited the area again!

Overall it’s lovely. The interior is well maintained and lovely. The cookware could use updating. The directions had an error so we couldn’t find it at first. The batteries in the thermostat were dead, so we had to use other lights to see it. Beyond those minor things it’s a delightful place and an excellent choice.

Beautiful house tucked away in the woods on the Blanco River. The house was very cozy and quiet. We observed lots of deer and even had an 8-pt buck bed down right beside my truck! The beds were very comfortable and the towels were plush and soft. Remote feeling but only 3 miles from downtown Wimberley. The back porch is very inviting with lots of chairs and 3 different sitting areas. Our family only stayed two Nights, but wish we would’ve had more time.

Property very clean and comfy. The river is right behind the property and so easy to access. We were able to wade barefoot in the river. The property is close to shops and restaurants but feels like it's out in the country. We went to Market Days which is so fun! Connie, the host, was always so quick to respond to any message I sent. Excellent host & excellent property for peace & quiet and beautiful nature!! We will definitely be back! One of our favorite places! Be sure to check out JPs Wimberley BBQ just up the road from the property!! It was SO great and very generous portions! Thanks Connie for providing such a wonderful place!

The house was cozy and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to be out in the country with all the nature and wildlife at our doorstep. Also appreciated the ability to walk down to the river and hang out! I would recommend more comfortable seating in the living room and a better stocked kitchen. We spent some of our days entirely at the house and did not feel like there was adequate cookware to make dinner. Otherwise, had a wonderful time staying and exploring Wimberley!

Anniversary getaway

The home is conveniently located near town but far enough away for peace and quiet. The house is well maintained and equipped. The fireflies at night are beautiful. We were able to see abundant wildlife from deer to wild turkey. The river is a bit low due to drought but was still very nice and relaxing. JP's barbecue is close and has great food.

My husband and I fell in love with Wimberley. When we found Rio Casita, we just had to purchase it. We love being there and use it as a family get away. We love the quietness, the wild life and the easy pace that this place offers. We are very happy that we can share all of that with you.

Why they chose this property

We love being on the water and the Blanco is just right for us and our dogs. Our golden retriever thinks he is in Heaven when he is there.

What makes this property unique

Relax, relax, relax...pull a chair out into the middle of the river; read; walk; listen to nature or just sit on the back porch. A unique place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, if you demand a little more activity in your life, the Village of Wimberley is just 2 miles down the road.
