Luxury Rental W/Private Pool Steps from the Beach

Max's Beach Retreat is a large luxury vacation rental 1.5 blocks from the sparkling waters and white sands of Cherry Grove Beach in North Myrtle Beach. The house was completely updated spring 2023. All new furniture throughout. Amazing "Backyard Oasis" Large pool, spa and grill/bar with plenty of outdoor space. The house is very spacious containing 2,300 sq ft of living space, 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths with a private pool. There is a huge outdoor patio and 3 decks! It has an open, modern floor plan with an updated kitchen. The house has brand new furniture and premium mattresses as of 2020 and has been completely updated and painted. We have installed new showers in two of the bathrooms in the fall of 2019. We have Wi-Fi and Direct TV with new flat screen TVs in all of the bedrooms and living room. Downstairs there is a large lounging area as your make your way to the salt water pool and relaxing under the house patio. Max's Beach Retreat sleeps up to 10 with a large master suite with king bed, second master bedroom with king bed, a third bedroom with a queen bed, and a fourth bedroom with 2 queen beds. The master suite bath has a Jacuzzi tub as well as a shower. Max's is dog friendly (it would have to be, it is named after our little buddy Max!) so bring the furry ones too! The house features key less entry with washer and dryer on the 2nd floor. One and 1/2 blocks from the beach and within walking to many restaurants and stores. The home was built in 2007 and the house, pool and deck area were completely updated and remodeled in 2019. A great place to relax with over 2,000 sq feet of outdoor living space. The cleaning fee includes a full linen package, we also have 4 beach chairs for your group to use at the beach! If you are looking at dates more than 6 months in the future please reach out for a quote. If you book with us (which we hope you do) we send our short term rental agreement to your email address via docusign, and will email you access instructions a day or two before your stay.

Fabulous vacation rental

My family and I stayed at Max‘s Beach Retreat for a week in May 2025. The house was impeccably clean and decorated beautifully. It was very roomy for my group of 9. The beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed and the outside living area was perfect. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub every day. After spending the morning and early afternoon at the beach, we’d come back and hang out at the pool. It was awesome! The house is in a great location a short 5 minute walk to the beach, and 2 blocks from the grocery store and shops. The hosts Jamie and Maria were very attentive and helpful. They responded to our needs and questions quickly. We would definitely stay at Max’s Beach retreat again. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Humphreys 1st Family vacation

The property is exactly as listed and our adult family and dogs had a great time. It was a short walk to enjoy the beach. The pool was a great place for all of us to re-group at the end of the day. We would highly recommend this house for your stay.

Great house and location!

Had a fantastic week with my family including my 2 frenchies! The house was perfect with the right amount of space, the pool and lots of things within walking distance. We definitely plan to return for another family week!

Beautiful Home

This was a perfect rental, they thought of everything. Kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfy. House was very clean. We loved the pool and hot tub. Beach was a quick walk and was beautiful. Hosts were very easy to reach if needed.

Perfect for our family!

We absolutely loved our stay at Max's Beach Retreat! Not only was the house spectacular, but for a family of 5 (kids: 10, 8, 5) down from Ohio in late March, finding a place in walking distance to the beach, restaurants, a grocery store, and more - with a heated private pool and hot tub - was precisely what we were looking for. Can't wait to come back!

Beautiful house

This was the nicest house we have stayed in years. The decor was perfect. There was plenty of decks and gathering areas to get together or to have private time. The area is ideal with a large supermarket and beach within a two block walk.

Great Stay for Spring Break

We enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the property. We had two adults, 4 young teens, and two dogs. We had plenty of space and all the necessities! Grocery store, restaurants, and shopping was close by. Beach access was also easy, though we did enjoy driving north a few miles to Hogs Inlet for the best sunrise views.

"Absolutely fantastic stay! The location was perfect, just a stone's throw from the ocean and conveniently close to grocery stores and amenities. The house comfortably fit our family of eight, providing ample space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The pool was also an A+ for our kids. We couldn't have asked for a better spot for our vacation. Relaxing stay after a very hectic summer

We had a very laid back relaxing week off after a summer filled with long work hours and many events. Weddings, gatherings, and many commitments in general. It was nice to just sit in the sun.

All I can say is wow. This house was clean, well furnished, and in a great location. Everything was as promised. We even got to meet the owners and they were so nice. You can tell by the level of detail that they want a quality experience for their renters.

Great house and perfect location. Plenty of space and very clean. The walk to the beach is short.

We enjoyed the back porch at night. Hot tub and pool were great after coming in from the beach. Location is close to shopping and Putt Putt. The IGA is within walking distance and is a great little grocery store to get everything you need for the week. Beds were very comfortable and the bath towels were super soft. Overall my family had a great time at Cherry Grove for the first time! Thanks!

Great family vacation

Your place was absolutely wonderful. Location was great. It was so very clean and everything we needed was right there. Accommodations were fantastic. The pool was a big hit among all of us. Fantastic stay

We had the best time staying in our rental. It was absolutely beautiful, very clean, decorated in a nice beach decor, plenty of room. Our granddaughters were so excited to find out there was a pool and hot tub. They utilized both throughout our stay. The beach was very close which was nice. Grocery store, ice cream shop, shopping all close by. Thank you Jamie and Marla for allowing us to stay in the house it was very comfy, cozy and welcoming.

Beautiful place to make great memories!

Max’s retreat was the perfect place for our vacation. The house was as perfect at the pictures looks. Very clean and kept up. Jamie was great he made sure we didn’t need anything and had great contact info if we did. We had no issues at all. The house is in a nice location close enough for a very short walk to the beach, and just a short drive to just about any shopping or restaurant you could imagine. We already plan on returning. Wonderful Beach Getaway

We had a wonderful experience at Max's Beach Retreat! The owners were friendly and helpful. Having a pool and hot tub was amazing, and the hot tub got REALLY hot, which was great! Felt like a tropical oasis! We cooked every meal at the house, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Short, straight walk to the beach. I was able to carry my 9 month old back and forth on my own with no problem. Great, large beach area. The house had plenty of room for all of our cars, so no one had to park on the street. We would definitely book this house again!

Beautiful house & very clean and new. Had issues with Jacuzzi

The house is impeccable. Well taken cared of. Very organized. Two issues though. Our #1 reason that we went with this house is because of Jacuzzi and to a lesser extent the pool. We knew that it was the winter but the owners told us that they would warm up the pool due to Christmas holidays (nice!). After noticing that the Jacuzzi did a poor job warming up, we asked the owners to just focus on the Jacuzzi. This jacuzzi was very poor compared to the one we have in our townhouse in DC. Many times it would not warm up at all besides the fact that every 3 hours we needed to reset it to keep it warming. #2 Just like the previous reviewer there was construction around and the workers playing loud music. By the time we noticed this we decided not to complain since the Jacuzzi incident did not get us far and we did blame the owner for the noise. What saved our trip was the beauty/comfort/cleanliness of the home.

AWESOME BEACH HOUSE

This was by far the BEST beach house we have stayed at. I don't know where to begin. A hurricane brought in 2 feet of flooding two days before our stay. Yet the pool was ready for use when we arrived. There was a slight snafu with the hot tub because of the hurricane, but it was also fixed quickly. Everyone loved the pool (especially our grandson) and the hot tub. We could not get access to the speaker volume control because the garage was locked and Jamie showed up immediately to unlock the door. It was so enjoyable to have music to grill, eat and swim to. The outside areas were outstanding. Three decks afforded us time to be by ourselves or to gather together. The patio area included a spacious grill, table, chairs, stools and a refrigerator; all shaded. There was also a comfy shaded lounging area with a constant breeze. This house was IMMACULATE. The kitchen was well appointed, having everything you could possibly need; the pots and pan were a grade above standard cookware. There was no cutting corners, as this rental is super nice. The towels were plush, the bed linens could stand to be upgraded (this is the only imperfection I could find). The size of this house was very comfortable for 7 adults and one child. The beach is only 1.5 blocks to the public access. This is our first time to Cherry Grove, and we found the beach to be very clean. My husband and I like a low-key, relaxing beach and we were not disappointed. We can't wait to return to Max's Beach Retreat!!

Outstanding! We had the best vacation ever and the house was fantastic. Jamie and Marla were so helpful and responsive. We arrived just as a tropical storm was heading directly toward North Myrtle. Jamie ensured we knew what to expect, and gave us specific instructions, if needed. We had no issues with Jamie and Marla checking in the next morning. Beautiful week followed. Highly recommend!

Thank you for considering Max's Beach Retreat, it is owned by Marla and Jamie. We live in Myrtle Beach as of 12/2020. We moved from Alexandria VA (a plan which was in the works for the last few years) and are really excited to be close to Max's!. Marla is an innovation expert for a large tech company and Jamie is a sales executive for a publishing company. Marla was born and raised in sunny South Florida and Jamie is from the cold, winter grey Detroit area. We met in Florida, moved to the DC area in 2004 and now are in Myrtle Beach, we love it here and love Cherry Grove!
