Welcome to Alexis Zorba Villa, 400 m from Almyrida beach

Our villa is located in the western part of the island, on the north coast in the beautiful village of Plaka, which stands on a hill and offers breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains. The center of Plaka, located only 300 m from the house, is typical of the Cretan villages. There are many family taverns, and a small supermarket. The villa is located on the main road between Almyrida and Plaka, you can access the beach and the village of Almyrida located 400m. Here you will find sandy beaches and crystal clear water as well as excellent seaside taverns and cafeterias.
The house is located 25 minutes from the city of Chania and 35 minutes from the airport.


The villa is composed of four bedrooms each with a separate balcony. It has two bedrooms with double beds and two bedrooms with single beds. There are three bathrooms. All of these rooms are connected to a common room, where you can relax together at night with comfortable seating, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, including fridge, freezer, oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine etc ... This large open living space also gives access to a large balcony, with stunning views of the sea and the mountain, from where you can watch the sunset, which sets directly in the sea. The villa has a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a BBQ and a relaxing lounge. The villa has a private pool with sea views and a rest area next door.

Very good holidays’

We were a group of four friends visiting Crete and we had a fantastic time at Villa Alexis Zorba. The location was perfect, a short walk up the hill to the village of Plaka with a good choice of tavernas and supermarkets. A 10 min walk in the opposite direction gets you to the beach, with many more places to eat and drink, with a couple of good bakeries. The highlight of the villa was the balcony with its stunning views. We were also able to use the pool which belongs to the downstairs villa, which was much better than the one allocated to Villa Alexis Zorba which is situated to the side of the property and the view is blocked by large trees. All in all we had a fantastic time and I’d definitely recommend, so long as the pool downstairs is available to use.

We really enjoyed our stay , Alexis was easy to contact before our stay here . Kinga was very approachable and nice thank you so much for everything :) The location of the villa is very well located ! Only 6 minutes walking distance to the beach , and to the restaurant area . There are many restaurants around also close to the villa ( up the hill) . Amenities were as per as the description . Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness . It was our first time in Crete island , and we all fell in love with .

Spectacular View

We had a lovely holiday at the Villa Alexis Zorba. We stayed in the upper apartment of the villa (which comprises of 2 apartments) and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets from the spacious balcony. The apartment itself has an efficient layout and makes the most of the available space, the bedrooms and bathrooms are small but they all have a private balcony to enjoy the spectacular view. We were very fortunate that the downstairs apartment was only occupied for a few days during our stay as they are in very close proximity and both apartments therefore need to be attentive to noise levels. Good communication with the host and excellent and friendly service from Kinga.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful home!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful view to wake up to and to watch sunsets every night. Everything was as advertised, except the VRBO site lists a hot tub, however the villa website does not. The ping pong table was broken. The pool was fabulous, the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the owner stocked it with lots of goodies. The staff cleaned during our stay, and the if we had any issues, they took care of them immediately! Our coffee it was broken and they bought a replacement very fast. A wonderful time. 5 stars!!!! Thank you so much!

Amazing Views

Just returned from a week at this lovely villa which coped well with the 42° heat that we had. The villa has amazing views a great pool and is a ten minute walk from the beach front of Almyrida with a variety of restaurants and a glorious beach. In the opposite direction a ten minute walk takes you into the village of Plaka and its lovely tavernas and a couple of supermarkets. I would recommend Elpis in Plaka for great food and warm welcome. We took the snorkelling boat trip with Dream boat trips and all six of us had a great time. The villa is 45 minutes from Chania and a taxi bus for 6 adults and all their luggage was £60 each way. The villa itself has everything that you need for a great stay and both the host and the local manager were very helpful. The villa is on a hill and the walk is steep but very doable and a taxi into Almyrida is only £5 if you can’t face the walk, There is also dedicated parking outside.

Beautiful villa with amazing views

I was looking for a villa with great location, able to walk to tavernas, shops and beach , sea view and pool and this ticked all the boxes. It is a short walk to the beach where you can find tavernas, bakery and a lovely beach, you can also walk 5 mins up the hill to Plaka where there are a couple of small supermarkets and restaurants( - Elpis restaurant had a lovely friendly atmosphere in the evening) . Almyrida was small but friendly and had a small selection of shops and tavernas but wasn’t lively if that’s what you are looking for. - would definitely recommend going to Chania one day for a look around the old town. The villa was lovely and could have just sat on the balcony all day as the view was so good. The layout was perfect giving everyone privacy with a good communal area for eating and having sundowners as the sunset every evening was amazing. Had good communication with Alexis who answered queries before we came and recommended Almyrida taxis to meet us at the airport. We arrived late and there was a good selection of essential food waiting for us including fruit, milk, bread and wine which was well received. It was very clean and had everything you need. Will definitely return.

Stunning villa, stunning views - absolutely fabulous

We loved every minute in this beautiful villa and surrounding area. We opened those wooden doors when we arrived to the smell of the flowers and inside the villa the panoramic views were breathtaking. The villa is spotless and has everything you need. The kitchen is very well equipped. We arrived 9pm and there was a welcome pack with fruit, bread, butter, water, jam and some veg. The pool is fantastic had a couple of lilos which were much appreciated as it was just perfect lying on one in the pool looking down to the sea, stunning. There is a little square with a couple restaurants 5 mins up the hill which has a great atmoshphere and 10 mins down the hill to Almyrida a beautiful village with restaurants along the seafront. Food excellent and fantastic value we ate out most nights. A car is only needed if you want to explore further. We were 2 couples staying and loads of space for us all, the lounge/kitchen area is large and leads onto the balcony with table and another seating area with those views. The sunset from here is beautiful. We had the ensuite bedroom and I never closed the curtains as waking up to see those views out the patio doors was unreal. The villa is very private which is brilliant, the gardens are beautiful and the table tennis was good fun. We had a brilliant week the host was easily contacted and replied very quick. On our journey to manchester airport on way there Crete was put on red list, we wondered should we cancel, but decided to go and so glad we did, a perfect week, we all felt very safe both in the villa and the villages. It was well worth going even with having to isolate on our return. Would definitely book again. Thank you Alexis.

Beeindruckend war zuallererst die wunderbare Lage der Wohnung. Jedes der 4 Schlafzimmer hat einen eigenen Balkon mit Blick aufs Meer. Wohn- und Essbereich inclusive einer großen Terasse waren geräumig und boten genug Platz für alle (wir waren 5 Personen). Alles war sehr sauber und funktional eingerichtet. Für 3 Zimmer gab es jeweils ein eigenes Bad mit Dusche. Die Küche war top ausgestattet mit Geschirr und Geräten. Es gab einen Pool, den wir aber nur selten benutzt haben, da der nahegelegene Strand unsere Badewünsche voll befriedigt hat. In der Nähe der Wohnung in Plaka gab es einen Supermarkt und einige Tavernen, 10 Minuten entfernt im Ort Almyrida etliche Tavernen, Bars und Einkaufsmöglichketen. Sowohl die Wohnung wie auch die Umgebung haben uns einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt beschert.

Déception

Déception. Il faut savoir que la maison est divisée en 2, c’est gênant pour les 2 locataires. Nous avions vu sur la piscine du voisin de la terrasse principale, les voisins du rdc n’ayant pas d’enfant, ils ne supportaient pas le bruit des nôtres (dès 20 heures coup de balai au plafond). Pas de terrasse à l’ombre pour déjeuner. La table de ping-pong avait disparue, la tv n’est pas celle de l’annonce (toute petite). La piscine n’avait pas assez d’eau et beaucoup trop de chlore (déclenchement l’allergie cutanée et toux importante chez notre enfant le plus jeune) Le canapé peut recevoir 3 personnes maxi. Le loueur est un particulier français, qui n’accepte aucune critique et forcément a toujours raison … Il est très dangereux de descendre à la plage à pieds (pas de trottoir et pas d’éclairage). Très déçu, ne mérite pas le prix demandé. À éviter, louez avec les locaux (c’était notre 3 ieme maison en Crète, les 2 autres étaient formidables).

Mickael Barteau, votre message est un mélange de mensonge, d'aigreur et de racisme. Heureusement, les vacanciers pourront se faire un avis grace aux nombreux messages positifs et sincères que nous avons. Vous avez fait preuve d'un comportement inadmissible notamment avec la femme de ménage car vous êtes resté à faire la cuisine pendant le nettoyage et un des enfants est resté dans son lit alors qu'elle changeait les draps. Quel manque d'éducation !! Vous avez oublié de dire que notre équipe s'est démenée pour un check in 3h en avance, mais que vous êtes arrivé plus tôt que l'horaire prévu. Concernant la piscine, c'est vous qui l'avait vidée ( il y a un système de remplissage automatique) et les 3 tests effectués pendant votre séjour n'ont pas montré de problèmes de chlore. Me concernant, vous délirez complètement : j'ai la nationalité Grecque , j'ai été baptisé dans l'église du village et je suis allé à l'école de Plaka. Vous par contre, vous êtes bien Français ! Mais heureusement, tous les Français ne sont pas antipathique. La table de ping pong a été remplacée début septembre, suite à une casse, car la livraison venait d'Athènes. Je vous demande une faveur pour tous les crétois et les amis de la crète : ne revenez pas !!

Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen. Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, groß und sauber. Den Strand kann man unproblematisch zu Fuß erreichen. In der Nähe gibt es viele Tavernen, wo man abends gut essen kann.

As good (or better) as advertised

We were completely satisfied with the apartment (there are two flats in one building). Four bedrooms (3 baths) built around a nice sized room containing the entrance, small kitchen and a living room area. Off of each room is a balcony, with a large very comfortable one with a L shaped couch and dining table off of the living room. The balcony (facing west) over looks over both the bay/sea and the mountains, and makes for a great place to relax and to see the sunset each night. The apartment was in immaculate condition, and Kinga (the house manager/cleaner) was very helpful. I note that the water in the house is heated by solar panels, so occasionally we did not have hot water first thing in the morning. The beach is easily accessible by foot or car as are a couple of okay (nothing special) restaurants and food stores. The house is located well to explore the western end of Crete. On the whole we were very happy with the place, and would recommend it without reservation.

schönes Haus mit traumhaften Blick

Sehr schönes Haus mit wunderschöner Aussicht. Vorallem der Sonnenuntergang ist sehr traumhaft. Das Haus ist neuwertig und modern eingerichtet. Wir haben viele Ausflüge in der Umgebung gemacht und man kann in der nahen Umgebung sehr gut essen gehen. Entweder im kleinen Ort Plaka oder am Meer. Wir waren mit 2 Kindern und konnten uns gut ausbreiten. Es gibt Schlafmöglichkeit für 8 und auch genug Bäder, das wäre uns persönlich etwas zu eng. Mit 6 Leuten wahrscheinlich perfekt. Der Pool ist schön erfrischend, da der Garten schön eingewachsen ist, fallen natürlich immer mal Blätter rein. Wir sind dann einmal mit dem Netz durch und es war wieder perfekt. Gefallen hat uns auch das 1x in der Woche gereinigt und Betten frisch bezogen wurden. Sehr zu empfehlen!

This place is amazing

We loved it here. House was plenty big for 2 couples. We had lots of room and privacy, but allowed us to vacation together. I can't recommend this place enough. We arrived (and were allowed to check in) 2 hours before check in and they worked with us. THey were so wonderful.

This place is perfect!

This is our 2nd stay here as a family of 6 (2017 last time) and we have thoroughly enjoyed it once again. The balcony views are spectacular and the privacy is brilliant. Highly recommended.
