Quaint and completely renovated early 1900s-era home overlooking a picturesque ocean cove in Midcoast Maine. Our home is nestled between the bustle of Rockland and the slower pace found on the peninsula. We have three bedrooms, a full kitchen, and living room with large yard. Off-street parking is provided. Spend the day relaxing at one of the nearby beaches. Venture out for a hike on the many local trails. Explore museums and art galleries, or stop into a boutique or antique shop. Dine at one of the area's many restaurants, from pub fare to fine dining. Or, bring a lobster or two back home to crack open while you watch the tide come into the cove. The perfect place to decompress for a few days or longer.
Please note: The bathroom is on the second floor, and since this is an old house, the stairs are a little steep.

Very comfortable. Centrally located near many historical and natural attractions. Beautiful midcoast is future destination for us as well as Brian and Sharas Maine house. See local lobsterman, Bobby Jo for delicous reasonably priced lobster.
We had a great stay at this home! Perfect to location to everything we needed. Only wish the downstairs bedroom didn’t have such a soft bed. Also, the view from the living room and upstairs bedroom is breath-taking. A few spiders were there when we got there, but with a rural house along the woods, sometimes you just have to kill a few bugs for it! Would recommend!
This was an excellent place for my siblings (3 sisters and a brother) to meet for the weekend. We hadn't been together since our mom's funeral a few years ago. It was fabulous to get together in this intimate little house with such a peaceful atmosphere. The proximity to Rockland was a bonus!
We stayed for two nights late May. After a hiccup in getting in, rest of the stay was great. Perfect for anyone headed to Port Clyde ferry for day trip. Very well stocked kitchen. Lots of morning sun in bedrooms. Thermopane windows. Stairs are steep up to 2nd floor BRs and bathroom. Passing car noise is somewhat noticeable and unavoidable, since house is set close to road, though it's very quiet at night. Beautiful view of small bay across street.
Our group consisted of 2 couples ages from 72 to 78. One person is disabled mobility wise. This rental has one bathroom on the second floor. The stairs are extremely steep and was a challenge for all of us. My next concern was the location of the house next to the street. It was quite warm during our stay and we had to keep windows open all night. The house did not have A/C and was very warm, sleep was hard to get. The real issue with the house being close to the road is that vehicle traffic was nonstop and very loud, all night long. It was a shame that we couldn’t close the windows to keep the noise down.
We enjoyed the location due to the fact that the front yard had a very nice view of the the water. We spent most evenings sitting in the front yard, watching the water and waving at all the traffic going by. I do believe that we made a few friends judging by all the waves we got.
My only other concern shared by our group was the size of the television, very small…
Overall, for an older home, the remodel job was done very tastefully and was quite nice.
We were able to explore the area and did enjoy this location.
This is a charming house with a large, well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, a separate bedroom, and a living room area with view of Seavey's Cove. Upstairs there is a large, comfortable bedroom with a queen bed and lots of storage space; a smaller bedroom, and a full bath. Everything was clean and neat, and all kinds of material about the local area was provided. Outside, the lawn was cut and there was plenty of space for kids to run.
The road is between the house and Seavey's Cove (no access to the cove), and there is some road noise, as this is the main road down the peninsula to Port Clyde.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Owners Brian & Shara were wonderful with communications before our arrival and had an excellent home guide that provided all information necessary to ensure a pleasant time spent at their pristine home which is located in a fantastic location to explore the myriad of experiences that the Midcoast has to offer. After busy outings of sightseeing, this home was a comfortable, quiet, and beautifully appointed place to recharge. The beds were extremely comfortable and the entire home had everything we needed for a great getaway.
I highly recommend this home. Brian & Shara obviously take great pride in their beautiful home and were so welcoming and supportive during the reservation process and made it clear that they were available for any questions during our stay. This will be my Midcoast booking choice for future trips to this stunningly beautiful area of Maine. KB

About the host
Hosted by Brian and Shara LaPointe
We lived in Midcoast Maine for four years before relocating to be closer to our families. However, we still found ourselves returning often to visit with friends and enjoy this wonderful area. In 2019, we finally decided to get a place of our own that we could share with others.
Why they chose this property
We bought this home because we lived on the same road when we first got married and we've always loved the cove. When the opportunity came to own it, we jumped at the chance.
What makes this property unique
The home is close, but far away. It offers quiet relaxation with a beautiful view of the ocean in the land of the pointed firs, yet is close to lots to see and do.
