About this property

Norcross Cottage, quiet lakeside cottage in Maine moose country

This charming historic cottage is attached to our home and is our year round guest house. It sits in a quiet cove with access to the 5 larger lakes around it. It is 5 miles to the town of Millinocket and is easy to get to. It's a wonderful place for water activities or just relaxing by the water. It's also a great jumping off point for the Katahdin region including Baxter State Park. We have a paddle boat,two canoes, and three kayaks available. Bird watch, leaf peep, moose watch, white water raft, hike, kayak, swim, fish, x-country ski ,snow shoe, ATV, snowmobile or just relax and enjoy the view. We are close to a network of trails. Just leave the house and hit the trails.

Faye and Donny’s place was a perfect getaway. They have an excellent location on the lake. Faye was super accommodating with an additional day we added.Donny showed us the lay of the land and the house decor makes the home very quaint and cozy. Would definitely stay again!

Faye and Don are genuinely nice people who helped when we needed help, and stayed back when we wanted privacy. We survived the Golden Road, but were glad of the adventure. F/D offered a sunset cruise on our last night which was a godsend after swamping two kayaks and the paddle boat!

I could not have asked for better place to stay for our white water rafting adventure. The cottage is very quaint and has everything you would need for your stay along with lake access in the backyard. Faye and Donny are very welcoming hosts, allowing you full use of their canoes and kayaks to enjoy the lake and they were even gracious enough to take us for a sunset cruise of the lake on their personal Pontoon boat. Highly recommend.

We had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at this beautifully and lovingly maintained property. Faye and Don were incredibly warm and friendly hosts, and provided us with some fascinating history of the area and home, as well as great tips on where to sightsee. Everything was so cozy and comfortable, and the setting is absolutely picturesque and gorgeous everywhere you look. This is truly a gem of a place and we both can't wait to come back again for another visit, for a longer period of time!

Excellent stay - feels like visiting family (in the best way possible!)

Donny and Faye were lovely - their property was very comfortable, and they clearly go above and beyond to make it a good experience. We loved staying on the water, and they even took us out on their boat for a tour of the surrounding lakes. We really enjoyed our time there (especially our kids), and we would definitely go back!

Great stay!

It was an awesome getaway to Penobscot, my first time in Millinocket and Norcross. Beautiful views, trips to Baxter SP area. This is a VERY kind home and VERY friendly and attentive hosts. Thanks A LOT for a really cozy vacation!!!
