Charming Oasis in the Heart of Historic Downtown

Our beautiful two bedroom apartment is a perfect place for people to enjoy while visiting all the sites of iconic Wabasha and its surrounding areas. Just 1/2 block from the National Eagle center it makes for a perfect getaway from city life. The space boasts two bedrooms (king and queen sized beds), a kitchen and living room all on the same floor you will have the space and appliances needed to make your visit to Wabasha unforgettable! All appliances, beds (tuft and needle), couches, TV etc are brand new and ready to be enjoyed. The kitchen comes fully stocked with all your cooking needs as well as a coffee machine + french press and griddle for those leisurely mornings in! With two full sized rooms it makes a great location for a romantic weekend away, a great space for friends or a perfect location for a family. The apartment also come equipped with a new smart TV and cable access. You are able to easily eagle watch on the deck, where you a have a great view of the Mississippi River, or from most of the apartment windows.

Since this apartment is located on the top floor, the entrance is on the left of the house up one flight of stairs.

Let's start with the good: The place is cute and quaint. Enough room for everyone to have their own privacy. The bathroom was very nice and clean...and toilet paper was readily available. The mattresses were very comfortable. And the decor was cute throughout. Really close to the downtown and all it has to offer....easy walking!Now, the not so good: You should probably let your visitors know just how many steps they have to climb to get to the door and how steep they are. And I think if you would add a smooth railing to hang on to, would be very helpful...and no slivers! And once in we were fine with taking our shoes off (as per instructions), but the floor was filthy. And that included the bedrooms. The outer surfaces of the kitchen were clean, as well as the appliances, but the inside of cupboards and drawers were dirty, and we washed off almost all of the items from there. And we didn't use the deck at all, as after looking at it, first we couldn't see the river (as advertised) and it was filthy and after looking at the patio furniture pillows, we didn't even think about it, as they were dirty (and maybe a little moldy?). And if you could make sure to have Kleenex and paper towels available, that would be great. Lastly, both of us (one in each bedroom) heard what we thought were mice, but found no droppings, but after the second night we realized they might be in the walls.

Hi Tami, thanks for your feedback. Sounds like overall you had a nice stay and slept well. We do call out that there is one flight of stairs leading up to the entrance and have a photo on our listing - sorry that felt confusing. As for the cleaning I will make sure to let our cleaning service know of your feedback! We always aim for a 10/10 experience but totally understand somethings can slip through the cracks at times. We have never in 8 years had mice and we just had a full inspection by both the State of Minnesota and an annual inspection paid for privately within the past month. Wee will follow up with appropriate contractors to make sure that is still the case.

Delightful experience!

Clean, comfortable, just the right place to stay! We loved being able to walk to the restaurants and bars, and to have close access to the river. The space was so beautifully decorated and we slept so well on the very comfortable mattress! Everything we needed was provided, and just an overall great experience.

We are blessed with two little babes that keep us busy at all hours of the day. Since we are an international family we have learned how to perfect travel with two kids under 3 and *usually* enjoy it :)

When precious alone time becomes available we try to fill it with a good book, a cup of tea, and the sound track of "The Greatest Showman" on repeat. We love exploring, GOOD food and prefer cook it rather than pay for it. We are looking forward to the days when we can family road trip and Airbnb/camp our way around the USA.

Why they chose this property

My mom and her entire family were raised and most still live in Wabasha. Growing up visiting my grandparents frequently it made the choice to buy a property in town easy! We love sneaking away for adult weekends away or taking the whole tribe to enjoy all of Wabasha and the surrounding areas. Our favorite thing to do while in town is to visit my Grandma who turns 90 this year!

What makes this property unique

We loved this house because it is was walking distance (1-3 blocks) from everything in town. The river views were a huge bonus as was the character of the building.
