About this property

HOUSE ON THE RIVER

Home on the River. There is NO DOCK access to the River. A boat launch is 1/2 mile South. This home has all the amenities you need. 2 queen beds. One has an adjustable base with the ability to raise/lower your head/feet. One has a select comfort air bed to adjust the firmness of the bed. A large family room with wood burning fireplace, we provide the wood, that opens up to a 3 season porch. Large couch and coffee table with games. A high top table dining room that seats 6 and a coffee bar/ work space for 3 more people. Fisherman and hunters welcome also.
Come and enjoy all that Wabasha has to offer. Ice fishing, downhill skiing, thrift shops & boutiques, eagle watching, Slippery’s Bar & Grill, Home of Grumpy Old Men. Coffee shop, State land nearby for hiking. Drive your ATV on county roads legally.

Comfortable bed and quiet environment. Clean and spacious. Enjoyed viewing blue jays, woodpeckers and cardinals while having our delicious, complimentary keurig coffee. Nice backyard fire ring for the evening with wood. Would stay there again.

Relaxing Cabin Weekend

It was a super nice cabin! Very clean and the sun room was a great touch :) There were a bunch of birds all over the property and the chirping created a great relaxing ambience. We only wished there was access to the water but overall it was a super nice stay, would come back!

The cabin is beautiful and in a great location. The property manages made everything so easy and are very kind. Would definitely stay there again! We also made a day trip to Alma and got engaged

River Vacation

House was just what we were looking for, it was in the center of all the places we wanted to visit from Lake City to Winona. It was just right for the four of us. If we were to visit the area again. I would want to stay there. We also used the gas grill & fire pit while were there.

Eagle Watching

Very nice house, lovely lot. We thought we'd be able to see the water, but the back yard was so nice and we loved watching the birds at the bird feeder!

Fourth of July Week

The property had nice front yard space, plenty of parking. Loved the screen porch area, and plenty of room in kitchen. Great table for games. Our only issue is the stairs down to river were very steep & lots of steps. Would love to have been able to get in the river there and swim & float. The area could be cleaned up for better access, looked sandy there in water. If were my property would open up the sight line better to see the river, and then do a better slope to dock, and bigger dock and have a paddle boat that is useable for renters and make it more water friendly. Fourantely, we have friends down the way that we could get water access. We rented a pontoon at Alma Marina which was nice, the only thing of course was the weather, not the best weather this 4th week. We did like that there was a grill to use also. Would rent again, but for sure would figure out a way to use the river.

Perfection

Gina and Troy are excellent hosts. I'm very very picky when it comes to cleanliness and I can honestly say the home was immaculate! Even the areas that normally get overlooked (like the bathroom exhaust fan and floor registers) were spotless. This fact set the stage for a wonderfully relaxing girl's trip with my best friend. This was a perfect place to relax in front of a wood burning fireplace and watch a movie. The view outside of the Mississippi was so peaceful. Decor was simple and inviting. Even though this is an older home, it is well maintained and there is no musty smell like older homes tend to have. Mattresses were great. I woke up without any back pain. Gina was a kind, attentive and accommodating hostess. She responded quickly to a few questions we had and was so kind to supply us with some snacks for our stay. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended! Thank you Gina and Troy for opening up your home to us. We had a great time!

We loved the open concept for the living/dining area. Beds were comfortable. The windows facing the river allowed us to see 2 deers and a fox go by, but the trees limit the view to the water. We took walks in the neighborhood and felt very safe.

Very peaceful and comfortable place to stay. It was easy to get to, had everything we needed, and within 10-30 min from to a lot of great small towns on both sides of the Mississippi. The host was very responsive to messages.

Beautiful Mississippi Valley

The House on the River was in a quiet neighborhood. Spacious and well stocked with everything you could need. Beautiful bedding and comfortable beds. Great bird watching. Host was quick to respond to questions.

This VRBO is located in a quiet setting. It was very easy to find. Close to everything we went to. ( Slipperies Bar and Ristorante, Eagle Center, Boat Tour out of Winona) We also drove the Great river road in Minnesota and Wisconsin.The house was very inviting and clean. Loved watching the birds and squirrels. The beds were very comfortable.

Our stay was wonderful. The porch was my favorite spot to sit and read, while having coffee and watching all the birds. We love this home on the river and it’s a great location if you are headed to town or just looking to get away. Gina and Troy are excellent hosts and provide all the necessities.

Quiet River View

A very comfortable, clean, well equipped house with a great Mississippi River view. Bed and pillows very comfy. Owner very nice. A big front yard for playing catch with our dog.
