Had a wonderful time staying here clean wonderful lakehouse large spacious indoors and outdoors 2 furepits and close lake access lots of good fishing will stay here again
We had a wonderful time! We plan on making this a yearly thing! :)
We loved the wrap around porch. We enjoyed the fire pit and making s’mores. The lake was amazing! We rented a boat and made a day of it. The dogs had a blast! They loved being apart of our vacation.
Wish we had been able to stay longer but we had a blast! The water is a little bit of a hike away but it was beautiful. There is an area to swim by the boat ramp that we went to for the day that was more accessible we learned about from a local. That area was stunning! The kitchen is amazing! We truly enjoyed our visit here! Host was great and easy to communicate with!
It was a nice size home and clean. A good size kitchen for our group. Small hiccup with checkin but we were able to figure it out. The layout of space was not quite as described with 2 of the bedrooms being connected and needing to go into one bedroom to get to the other, along with not being able to close the door while still getting access to the air. There also weren't as many double futons as described. The faucet on the first floor bathroom seemed to not be properly connected. The kitchen was pretty well stocked but for some reason there were only 4 very small kid size forks and none that were full size. It had nice outdoor space and there was a nice path to the lake that we were able to enjoy.
The house was clean and beautiful with all the amenities we could possibly need. The kitchen was extremely nice and fully equipped. Comfortable beds and lounging areas. We enjoyed a short hike down to the lake with nice trails, and sitting around the fire pit. The host was very quick to respond with questions. The only obstacle we encountered was discovering that Indian Road was closed if you come from the south by Dollar General, therefore adding an extra hour of drive time to our trip.
We loved the layout of the home and the walk down to the creek and the lake behind the house. The swings around the fire pit were so cozy, we've always wanted one like that. Plenty of space for family and friends to stay and separate areas for those who want different living areas and spaces. It was decorated so nicely and plenty of utensils for everything you might need to cook or eat with. We loved the flooring throughout the house. The recliners in the game room were so comfortable. Nice luxurious bathrooms. It was wonderful to be able to take our Chihuahuas with us and they loved walking down to the creek with us. The only suggestion I'd make is to put separate thermostats on each floor so that families who have a difference in the temperature could have their own living space with thermostat control. We would recommend this place and stay here again. It was very lovely and the owner was very kind and accomodating in every way. Thank you.
When renting I was led to believe the pool was with the house. It was a quarter mile away and was a community pool. Lake is not walking distance. The community the house is part of is not well kept and is quite rundown.
We met two of our kids and their spouses and grandchildren at the lake house. We had two pets and one service dog with us. Everything was wonderful. Lots of things to do in the home and land. Very updated, well stocked home. The only complaint we had were the bugs but the homeowner can't control those. It's a lake house in the country. Great communication and easy check in/check out. Short walk to the lake and a short drive to a very nice swimming area. We had a really great time. My favorite feature was definitely the trio of porch swings around the fire pit. Nice touch!

not what we expected
Very disappointed in our stay the address on the website is not right so we ended up on a dirt road at first so I called and the property owner seemed very put out by my phone call she said it was in the email that she sent to me. I did not receive any email that had the right address. She did give directions, We did find the place and it is not what it looked like in the pictures. I had to call her back to get code and again got the feeling that she was put out by my phone call. The house was not very clean the icebox was dirty I had to clean it before I put my groceries up the house was not as big as it looked in the pictures. It also had a lot of unfinished work that needed to be done. The roof in the screened in porch leaked and black mold was growing. I did find the 1 trash can to put our trash in but we filled it up on the first day she did offer to have some one to come and get it . But when I left it outside the racoons got in it so we just took it to the pool our selves. She did allow my little 15 year old dog to come, with no deposit we are very thank full for that. We save all year to get to take the one vacation. We are a strong Christian family and I could have looked over all of this, but the property owner was very short every time I spoke to her then when we got home she texted that we had broke bunk beds how do we want to pay so I ask for pictures because no one was in the bunk beds I did not get pictures, she just stated (so you just lie, no problem.) We are out a lot of money and my family and I are very disappointed in our only vacation.
This property was wonderful for our large family (6 kids). There were sleeping spaces on each of 3 floors with tvs on two of them. Kids and adults could each have a gathering space. The house was well stocked but we couldn’t find a toaster or the 4th bedroom( a room with a closet and a door). The host was always readily available to answer all of our questions. All things considered we would definitely think about staying here again.
We rented this place for an OK and MI family get together and it was amazing. While the pictures are nice, the place is more beautiful in person. The inside has a nice semi sophisticated vibe with cool artwork, great lighting, quality furniture and appliance through out the house. The down stairs area was amazing and a great getaway for the kids and/or adults looking for quite area to just relax, watch tv or play games (xbox one & board games included). Also, the large ice maker downstairs was a game changer. Every room was very clean, no critters or dust, they had all the kitchen ware needed, beds were comfortable, and they had games beyond games (indoor and outdoor)… could go on….but the place was fully stacked and greatly appreciated everything they had to offer. They even had a AC unit for the screened in outside patio area.
The location was great for trout fishing on the Lower Illinois River (few miles), the lake was just a short walk away for bass and other warmwater species, and the float trip on the upper was about a 35 min drive. If I had to give a con about the property it would be the other houses in the surrounding area. However, once on the property the privacy fence and woods took care of that.
Overall the place was amazing, a great escape, we really enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.
Our family had a wonderful stay! There was plenty of parking for two trucks with two boats and two cars as well. We had plenty of space for 8 and everything was very clean. Only two minutes from a ramp at the lake. Would definitely stay here again!
