The two-story, Craftsman-style house is a blend of modern and traditional décor. Though there are 3 main bedrooms, 2 additional smaller rooms have been converted to bedrooms, making a total of 5 rooms. Downstairs, the original part of the home has a shot-gun floorplan, has been restored to its original prestige so that it proudly displays its 1920’s historic charm. An inviting front porch welcomes you to one of two living rooms throughout the house. There are two bedrooms located downstairs, each containing a queen-size bed. Between the bedrooms is a full bathroom featuring a claw foot tub and original wallpaper dating from 1922. The adjacent dining room includes a table to gather for meals, or it can serve as a large work desk if needed. Following the dining room are a pantry and a small bar with an icemaker. An open concept kitchen-living room is located towards the back of the home and has been fully updated with modern appliances, large TV, and Sonos sound system. Double glass doors located at the back of the house opens to a large outdoor living area and features a gas fireplace, sitting area, swing, and TV. There is also a half bath and laundry room located on the first floor.
A second story was added to the home that has a large master suite with high tray ceilings, and two separate walk-in closets. A small room containing two twin-size hanging beds is adjacent to the master suite and is connected through a pair of double glass doors. The master bathroom has a tub, shower, private toilet room, vanity, and two sinks. Additionally, there is a small, cozy bunk room available if needed for family and friends.
Whether you enjoy food, art, theater performances, socializing, cocktails, live music, shopping, museums, festivals, parades, or all of the above, Downtown has you covered. The dining options are endless and range from local Cajun food to various international cuisines. Immerse yourself in the heart of Lafayette’s art, culture, and history by attending one of the many festivals, such as Festival International de Louisiane or the Boudin Festival. The Mardi Gras parade route is a short distance from the house and is perfect for hosting a group of friends, business clients, or even if you have small kids that need short breaks from the crowd. If music is your thing, you can walk to Parc International or Parc San Souci and hit up one of the many live music events such as Downtown Alive! On your way to or from your event, stop in at the outdoor beer garden, local ice cream shop, or even the bowling lanes! Why stay in a hotel when you can experience Downtown Lafayette and feel right at home?!
