The two-story, Craftsman-style house is a blend of modern and traditional décor. Though there are 3 main bedrooms, 2 additional smaller rooms have been converted to bedrooms, making a total of 5 rooms. Downstairs, the original part of the home has a shot-gun floorplan, has been restored to its original prestige so that it proudly displays its 1920’s historic charm. An inviting front porch welcomes you to one of two living rooms throughout the house. There are two bedrooms located downstairs, each containing a queen-size bed. Between the bedrooms is a full bathroom featuring a claw foot tub and original wallpaper dating from 1922. The adjacent dining room includes a table to gather for meals, or it can serve as a large work desk if needed. Following the dining room are a pantry and a small bar with an icemaker. An open concept kitchen-living room is located towards the back of the home and has been fully updated with modern appliances, large TV, and Sonos sound system. Double glass doors located at the back of the house opens to a large outdoor living area and features a gas fireplace, sitting area, swing, and TV. There is also a half bath and laundry room located on the first floor. A second story was added to the home that has a large master suite with high tray ceilings, and two separate walk-in closets. A small room containing two twin-size hanging beds is adjacent to the master suite and is connected through a pair of double glass doors. The master bathroom has a tub, shower, private toilet room, vanity, and two sinks. Additionally, there is a small, cozy bunk room available if needed for family and friends. Whether you enjoy food, art, theater performances, socializing, cocktails, live music, shopping, museums, festivals, parades, or all of the above, Downtown has you covered. The dining options are endless and range from local Cajun food to various international cuisines. Immerse yourself in the heart of Lafayette’s art, culture, and history by attending one of the many festivals, such as Festival International de Louisiane or the Boudin Festival. The Mardi Gras parade route is a short distance from the house and is perfect for hosting a group of friends, business clients, or even if you have small kids that need short breaks from the crowd. If music is your thing, you can walk to Parc International or Parc San Souci and hit up one of the many live music events such as Downtown Alive! On your way to or from your event, stop in at the outdoor beer garden, local ice cream shop, or even the bowling lanes! Why stay in a hotel when you can experience Downtown Lafayette and feel right at home?!

We had a wonderful stay. The house served as the meeting place for old college friends to reunite. The outdoor area and heaters were a highlight during our chilly February weekend. The hosts are very prompt to respond and helpful.
The house was perfect with plenty of space for our group and very comfortable. Perfect location for our needs as we visited the area. Will definitely use again if in the area again.
We love this house so much! It has plenty of room to accommodate a large group and has an awesome outdoor patio. It is fully equipped and in a great location. The host is very informative, attentive and responsive.
First the hosts were amazing. They were very communicative. The house is beautiful and great for adult entertaining. It was the perfect place for my family.
The property was perfect and exactly as advertised. All the amenities were first class. The location was great-central Lafayette. The home exceeded our expectations.
We rented the house to visit family in Lafayette. We hosted a big Christmas dinner and the house was the perfect venue. Loved the back patio. We had a magical time w our family and enjoyed the house. Great Vrbo, would recommend. Also met owners and they were so friendly and easy to work with. Great overall experience.
Spacious house with many amenities. House is centrally located to downtown area. Owners responded fast to any questions we had before and during our stay. Also provided a YouTube link to lights, tvs etc. Will definitely be back to stay at this property.
This is our second year staying here for a convention trip. Even though we love this spacious house and had a wonderful time with everyone having plenty of space to hang out and do their own things, we did run into some issues that we hadn’t last year. The owners were great at responding to them immediately. We feel these issues however were due to the unprecedented snowstorm in South Louisiana the week before our stay. We look forward to renting again whenever our convention is in Lafayette.
This house is nice and roomy and well decorated. We had most everything we needed and we had a nice time visiting the area and celebrating birthday/anniversary. The master bedroom upstairs is absolutely gorgeous and the bed was comfortable. The two queen bedrooms downstairs had very firm mattresses on them and the tub/shower is awkward in the fact that you have to lift the shower curtain to have access to the shower niche to reach soaps/shampoos, etc. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, except there were no mixing bowls. We had to use pots to scramble eggs and to store leftovers in fridge. Otherwise, we had what we needed. The outdoor living room was really nice too.
I struggled with this review. I rented this house for a 10-day work trip for myself and 3 my coworkers. The owners were very friendly and responded quickly to questions that I had before and during the trip. The house overall was lovely and basically clean, except for the dishes. Every single dish, pot, pan, glass, and piece of silverware was filthy. Not just dirty, but filthy. There were dead plants on the patio where you walked into the house, and the garbage outside was totally full when we arrived. There were no notes on when garbage day was, so it stayed that way for 10 days. The owners sent along how-to videos, which were wonderful, but the alarm system highlighted did not work. The battery was dead. The house-wide sound system did not work, and the in-mirror TV did not work. All of these were highlighted in the videos. When I brought all of this to the attention of the owners at the end of our stay, I received a polite thank you for making them aware, but no apology.
Our extended family of 11 stayed at the downtown Lafayette home for two nights and our main regret was using it only for sleeping. We were in Louisiana, traveling from the East and West coasts for a family wedding nearby for the ceremony and dinner one evening and the reception the next night. Alas we didn’t have much hanging out time in the two living rooms or the back deck with fire pit. We loved the hanging chairs and wished we had them in our own homes.
We made use of the washer and dryer and kitchen for early coffees before heading out daily. The home was well supplied for coffee makings and laundry.
The home was clean and as pictured. There was plenty of room for three cars to park in tandem in the long driveway and parking in front if needed.
The wifi was robust and the hot water strong for all those showers. The location was central as advertised.
My only quibble as others expressed was how 12 people (11 adults in our case) can sleep comfortably. Three ended up sharing the master bedroom bed (mother with two grown daughters) while the daughters’ significant others slept in the attached cute bedroom with two single beds. (From which you have to walk through the master to the rest of the house including the upstairs bathroom.)
I loved that in an era of a long list of checkout rules, there were none for this rental. Though the offset was a relatively early checkout of 9 am.
Enjoyed our stay, no issues raised. Thanks for hosting us.
Very well stocked nice back patio area. Very nice home. Clothes dryer doesn’t work and upper AC struggles to hold temp. But otherwise really enjoyed our stay.
