The cabin was very private, cute, and clean. You have plenty of pace outside away from the nearest cabins and you’re right along the river. The best part was the large bull moose who walked right by the cabin in the morning and walked across the river. Would stay again!
Beautiful location, well appointed cabin. We had everything we needed and enjoyed being in the natural setting. Hosts were friendly and great with communication. Would recommend!
The location was perfect! We loved sitting on the deck and listening to the creek and watching the deer. The cabin was very cosy and quiet, perfect for a couple get away. We forgot our books, however we enjoyed a couple of good books there and played cards at night. The cabin was clean and nicely furnished with everything needed. We would definitely like to stay again.
Thank you Victor! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and you guys are welcome to return anytime!

Liked: Communication, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
This rustic cabin is suitable for just a couple. There's extra charges for other 2 stated occupants and space for a blowup is extremely limiting. Understand that "guests" includes people staying and only the 2 allowed on the property, which costs the same whether just visiting or spending the night. It was pleasant for 2 people, communication was good, physical site really nice!
Beautiful property in a secluded mountain neighborhood. Has a great porch out back overlooking the N Fork of the Cache La Poudre river and a wood burning stove/fireplace to keep you warm. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Dry clean with nice kitchen. Will definitely return.
Absolutely peaceful location and great property. Just as described. Dianne was super helpful and communicated throughout our stay. Would highly recommend! If you are looking for the perfect mountain getaway with someone special, this is it! Will be back!
The cabin was perfect. It was surrounded by trees, on a very quiet road, and the stargazing was second to none. Keep an eye out for wildlife too! Would definitely book again.
Nice, comfortable and clean cabin in a lovely setting. Very relaxing. Recommend !

About the host
Hosted by Dianne & Mike
Hi! We are Dianne & Mike and we are so happy and deeply grateful to have River Song Refuge and the ability to share this fantastic home and peaceful location with our guests.
Why they chose this property
The North Fork of the Cache La Poudre River is healing & magical. The cabin sits only 75 feet from the edge of the river. Sitting by the river and just being, sitting on the deck and looking at the gorgeous rock formations, meadow and mature forest is so peaceful. We love listening to the river while falling asleep and sitting on the deck also~so tranquil.
The tranquility, trails through the forest (for hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, trail riding) are spectacular. It's a wonderful property that is so close to the forest trails with a feeling of seclusion & privacy--yet close enough to the village of Red Feathers (10 minute drive) and Beaver Meadows Resort (around the bend) to be convenient for restaurants, gas & groceries etc.
What makes this property unique
A unique benefit of this cabin is the proximity to the river~the sound of the river flowing promotes solid sleep. We love this home because we can enjoy the river right in front of the cabin, and go straight from the property to miles of trails in the Roosevelt National Forest. The trails are great for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing!
Plus it's close and convenient to Lady Moon, Mount Margaret, Lone Pine and many more trail heads also!
The views of wildlife from the home are absolutely breathtaking and we never tire of looking out and seeing the moose & deer visiting and grazing on the grass (and the aspen buds in the spring!).
In the summer, the wildflowers around the cabin and nearby trails just explode! The aspens leaf out and columbines & other wildflowers are abundant all around the home--it is incredible!
In the fall, the gorgeous aspens turn a beautiful gold and watching the leaves fall from the deck is one of our favorite things to do--very relaxing after a day of hiking, fishing, biking, or horseback riding.
In the winter, the snow on the pine trees with the sun glistening on the branches are magical....mother nature's Christmas lights. We love snowshoeing on the trails in the winter, and coming back to the cabin to warm up with hot cocoa & the awesome fireplace!
Overall the peace & quiet of this location, the river, wildlife, and proximity to the trails are the huge draws of this property. We love being in the mountains--where our neighbors are mostly deer, moose, elk, black bears, marmots, eagles, hummingbirds, grouse, wild turkeys and so much more.
Getting to reconnect with nature & getting away from concrete, stress of cities, traffic, noise, neon signs & crowds. We love River Song Refuge for decompressing & reconnecting with nature, trees, wildflowers, & the abundance of lakes, rivers & mountains to explore in Northern Colorado with River Song Refuge as base camp is simply perfect!
