About this property
Spacious 2BR/2.5 BA condo steps to lake, DOG FRIENDLY!
Keowee Key is a unique, gated community located on Lake Keowee; a hidden gem that boasts 300 miles of shoreline. No matter what time of year you plan to visit, the climate is mild with four seasons suitable for year-round outdoor activities.
We fell in love with the Keowee Key area during a visit and purchased this condo shortly after. We were drawn to this forest-like community with its beautiful lakeside setting, amenities and friendly people. Our condo is in a quiet, private area and is a one minute walk to the water. There you can enjoy a small beach, pavilion with restrooms, picnic tables, charcoal grills, play horseshoes, launch a boat, fish from the dock and use the benches to enjoy the scenery and watch the boats come and go from the marina. Tennis courts are just across the parking lot from our front door.
This lower unit has 4 easy steps up to the front door and 7 stairs to walk down into the condo. There is convenient parking right in front and easy access with the lockbox. This spacious condo boasts two bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms on separate ends of the unit. There is also a half bathroom in the hallway. The master bedroom has a comfortable king bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed and one twin bed. There is a small futon in the sunroom that can fold out to fit one small adult or two small children. The sunroom can be closed off into its own private sleeping area by shutting the sliding doors and the blinds. As an alternative to the futon there is also a queen air mattress. The condo association rule is that only 2 adults are allowed per bedroom. (Total: 4 adults)
The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans and cooking utensils. There is a coffeemaker and a single serve Keurig that uses coffee pods and has a pod to put your own coffee in.
You can serve up your favorite libations at the wet bar in the living room where there is plenty of seating to visit and watch cable tv or use the bluray player to watch DVDs. (The master bedroom also has cable tv in case you want some alone time!) There are books and games for your use on a shelf in the living room along with maps and brochures to help you navigate the area.
The peaceful, outdoor deck where you will find yourself nestled among the trees with some water views can be enjoyed any time of the day.
There are so many things to do within the community of Keowee Key: from boating (boat, kayak, paddleboard and pedal boat rentals- Call the Marina Office - 864-944-0863), watersports, fishing, swimming in the 3 pools (2 saltwater, outdoor and 1 heated Jr. Olympic-size indoor), lakeside beaches, playing on the lighted tennis and pickleball courts, horseshoes, shuffleboard, hiking the 2.5 mile lakeside leisure trail, 2.1 mile trail offering a hilly grade through beautiful pines and more!
The Fitness Center has updated exercise equipment, weights, racquetball, basketball and an indoor Jr. Olympic-size pool. There are men’s and women’s locker rooms each complete with whirlpools and saunas. A nominal fee is charged to use the facilities.
Lake Keowee is ranked as one of the most pristine lakes in the Southeast with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is just a short drive to take in nature at its finest in the mountains including many hiking trails and waterfalls such as Jocassee Gorges State Park, Caesars Head State Park, DuPont State Forest and the Pisgah National Forest as well as the Chattooga River with world-class whitewater where there are professional guides that will take you down the river! A short drive will take you to the lovely mountain towns of Cashiers and Highlands for hiking, antique shopping, dining and mountain fun.
The charming college town of Clemson, S.C. and the beautiful Clemson University campus are an easy, no-traffic drive 14 miles away - PERFECT FOR TIGER TAILGATING!
If you’re craving more adventures, Greenville is just an hour away, Asheville is 1.5 hours and Atlanta and Charlotte are a little over two hours away.
If you brought your furry best friend, be sure to stop by the dog park to play and socialize with other canine buddies.
For your everyday needs such as grocery, Seneca or Clemson are nearby.

About the host
Hosted by Mike and Joyce Prockton

We grew up in Hamburg, NY and have lived in Victor, NY for the last 40 years. I was a special education teacher and my husband is a CPA and was an accounting professor. We are semi-retired and looking to have adventures! We have two grown sons. Our older son lives in Seattle, Washington and our younger son lives in Earlysville, Virginia. We have two dogs, an old Husky mix named Bear and McKenna, a vivacious, Golden Retriever.
Why they chose this property
We love the Finger Lakes area of NYS with its lakes, rolling hills and four seasons. We looked for a long time to find a place that 'checked off all the boxes' of what we wanted for a retirement home. Keowee Key, specifically Marina Villas, suits us perfectly. The condo is spacious, in a quiet, convenient location on the lake. There are phenomenal amenities and most importantly, the people are so friendly and welcoming.
What makes this property unique
There is beauty all around. We love driving through the wooded streets of Keowee Key with views of the golf course and lake. The Blue Ridge mountains are nearby for hiking and sight-seeing along with many waterfalls. The city of Greenville is an hour away and is an adventure all its own. We feel lucky to have found this community.
