We’ve stayed in a number of condos at Viking Lodge, and this one is awesome. Very well decorated & laid out, and everything you need. Only thing that would make it better would be basic pantry items for cooking. We’ll be back!

Thank you Sian! We love our a little slice of paradise at the Viking Lodge! #115 was recently remodeled, carefully by the owner. It is such a great little space.
Great location, surprisingly quit, easy access, comfortable furniture/layout, quality appliances. My biggest complaint was the place was dark. Need to be able to open the shades from the top to let in light without letting anyone see in.
We had a wonderful stay in Telluride. The property is small, but very clean and in a great location. We enjoyed the river and the walking trail directly outside the back door. It was a close walk to the gondola and lots of restaurants. The only drawbacks, the pool and hot tub were empty and that was not told to us prior to our visit. Also, the parking place directly in front of the unit was filled with a dumpster and other construction supplies which made loading and unloading a bit more difficult.

Hi Julie,
Thank you for the review of the Viking Lodge. It is a great little condo.
Per all of our listings, HOA may close a hot and pool at anytime and we do not have any control over that. You also didn't reach out inquiring about the pool.
Our family of four really enjoyed this location! We loved the grassy area and the walking path is literally out your back door. The river is mesmerizing and we spent hours hiking and biking along the trail. The condo itself is very clean and well-appointed. Has everything you need for cooking (etc). I wish the bunk-beds were more user-friendly. The top bunk doesn't even have a ladder so it's impossible to get up there. It also has no railing which makes zero sense. There are other bunk beds in the complex that we saw with railings. Why not add one? This condo is perfect for a family with smaller children (there's not enough space for teenagers) yet the bunkbed isn't safe for young children. It seems counterintuitive to me. We were forced to use the pull-out sofa every night. It was fine but mildly inconvenient. If you have no children or just one child, it's probably a better situation. The location is superb.

Hi Sara,
We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Viking Lodge! It is a perfect spot. As far as the bunk bed, we clearly state the bunk bed does not have a railing and it is not suitable for small children or the elderly. We also send out a disclosure about the bunk bed prior to arrival to ensure that everyone is aware of the situation. We will pass on your thoughts to the owner regarding the railing.
Thanks again. we hope to see you in the future!
Nice little place that can easily sleep 4 or 5 if you use the couch. Walking distance to lift 7. I wish it had a hot tub, or if they did it was closed.
Easy walking access to chair 7 or a little further in opposite direction to Free Town Gondala. 10-15 min walk to downtown. Great convenient location.

Hi Robert!
We are glad you enjoyed your time this winter in Telluride. You should check out this condo in the summer. With the mighty San Miguel River right outside the patio, a great place to sit and relax at sunset and coffee in the morning!
Hi Dubnows!
So glad you enjoyed your time at the Viking Lodge. It is such a cute cozy little spot. Our favorite is back patio. Great area to have cup of coffee (our glass of wine!) and listen to the sounds of the San Miguel River right outside your back door!
Accommodations in Telluride
The listing is very accurate. This is a small space but efficiently designed. The kitchen in particular I thought was very well organized and well-equipped. Had pretty much everything one could need to do any sort of cooking/baking, as we like to do some cooking as well as dining out. This was greatly appreciated (full sized fridge/freezer, handy side table/island, good supply of knives and tools, etc). Nice to have the washer/dryer. We have stayed both in Mountain Village and in Telluride proper - this location is very central. Walk or ride your bike from the door and in 5 min or less be at the gondola, river rec path, town, etc.
Cons (getting picky here and some are out of owner's control of course): No windows to open. If want ventilation on a nice summer's day (as there is no AC, which is standard for our CO mtn towns of course), you have to leave the patio door open, which was fine, but would have been nice to have that option to leave open at night for fresh air. During our stay the condo next door was undergoing renovation, as well as the railings on the building - which was noisy. While we were typically out during the day doing activities, sometimes we wanted some quiet time. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, at time of our stay, the construction equipment utilized parking spaces in front of the unit and the workers were not particularly accommodating when we were trying to unload and carry our stuff through the maze of their equipment. Regarding the bedroom, the main bed is fine, but nothing great, and would be great if the owners could update and/or find a way to get a king in the space. There is plenty of storage, excessive for visitors (more understandable if this was your own residence), and more open space in the 'bedroom' would be preferred to the number of closets (which my partner described as looking like a locker room, which was pretty accurate). We used the lower bunk bed as a place to open your suitcase, as there is really no other space to do so. Last but not least, while there is a clever sliding barn door you can use to separate the bedroom from the rest of the condo, there is no similar separation for the bathroom area, a small retractable curtain would be nice to separate the bathroom/laundry/bunk area from the kitchen/living area. Again though, we really enjoyed the condo and as we anticipate many future trips to Telluride, this will certainly be a place we consider staying at again.
I like how this condo was right near the river path. We ate outside breakfast outside and it was relaxing to hear the river sounds. Plenty of space to store things and the kitchen had everything we needed. Being walking distance to amazing restaurants was a plus as well. We didn’t realize it was the weekend of the Bluegrass Festival. An added bonus!
We had an amazing time staying at this property. Everything was in walking distance and the views were great. Very clean place with everything needed. The only complaint we have is that the temperature of the room seemed to get no higher than 65-68 degrees in my opinion. Some days/nights were rather chilly. Other than that we would stay again. Thank you

Hi Corbin,
Thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts on our cute Viking Lodge condo. It has been recently completely remodeled.
Please let us know next time if you are having any maintenance or lodging issues. Even on the weekends! We will have a look at it right away.
Loved this small but well appointed condo in Telluride very close to the river, gondola and Main Street. Was recently renovated in a stylish modern way. One main queen bed then a bunk fitting two more. Came with appropriate cleaning supplies, coffee filters, oil and salt and pepper which was appreciated. Complex has hot tub which is nice but water was strangely green and could use cleaning. Wifi was not great so that could be improved upon. But great find and would definitely stay next time.

Hi Scott,
Thank you for the review. We will let the HOA know about the hot tub. Please let us know next time and we can hopefully get the problem alleviated quickly. Telluride's internet can be wonky, especially when there are a lot of people in town. That is unfortunately out of hands.
We hope to see you again soon.
Very clean place, loved the view and heated bathroom floor. Good location, too. Easy walk to lift 7. Downtown and gondola not too far away either. Really good Thai restaurant very close by. Would stay here again.

Hi Helen,
Thank you for your review of our Viking Lodge condo. It is a cozy little condo right on the river. Perfect for couples! And Siam is one of our favorite restaurants!
This place was perfect for us. We did not mind not having privacy since we skied all day. I would say we loved the location close walking distance to everything. I would definitely recommend this place and we will stay here again.
