Wonderful stay! Cozy and snug, love the screen porch. We spent hours watching the cove and the sailboats. Furniture is comfy as is the bed. We parked our kayaks right by the beach stairs and went swimming to cool off. Great book collection as well. This place is great.
This house was absolutely perfect for our young family of 4. We spent our days on the beach and screened-in porch, enjoying the peace and perfect setting of the house. We had everything we needed for cooking and grilling each night. We loved our stay and will plan to come back!
We were absolutely smitten with this true, quintessential Maine cottage. As Mainers ourselves, we believe that this is what a little cottage by the sea should be. We loved its old school charm and simplicity. It's a cottage that honors what we seek in the perfect vacation - a place that affords you the proximity to fresh salty air, surrounded by open fields, sandy shorelines, and the quiet of the surrounding woods. It was absolutely bliss and we ache to return next year.
Another wonderful week and snug cottage, the location is amazing. The ability to walk out to the shore and go for long strolls at low tide is a plus. The view and the quietness are the highlights of the trip. Highly recommend.
The Snug cottage lived up to our expectations! It is beyond charming without the fuss. We felt at home the second we. walked through the door. A perfect seaside location, I can't wait to return.
We loved our stay at this cozy cabin! The house is somewhat rustic, but with modern amenities and is incredibly charming. Bed in the master was super comfy. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch, walking on the beach, and exploring the area. Lots of bird and deer activity. We used the fireplace at night because it got pretty chilly and really enjoyed that. They supplied the wood and also pretty much everything else you’d need (towels, flashlights, beach chairs, cookware, etc.). Had a couple small hiccups, but Colin was fast to respond. Would absolutely come back!
Snug Cottage was incredible! My husband and I have always wanted to go to Maine and finally got there. The cottage was exactly what we hoped it would be. Relaxing and refreshing, we spent so much time walking the shore. The hosts were fantastic! We cannot wait to go back!!
We had a fantastic stay at the cottage. The scenery was even more beautiful than we imagined. The cottage is very private and well stocked with books and games to entertain all ages. We took a couple of day trips to Acadia which is just over one hour away by car. We also explored the local area and spent time searching for treasures on the private beach.
It was just what we were looking for. Clean and everything we needed. Used wood stove to heat downstairs. Space heater for bedroom. Located in the right location for day trips around the area as well as to Acadia NP.
My wife & I had a terrific stay at this quaint little cottage. We love the Blue Hill Peninsula area and this rustic, cottage was a great place to relax. Access to many good attractions, shopping, Bar Harbor, & restaurants. Living area was easy to relax. Sleeping quarters were very comfortable. I made breakfast every morning in the nice little kitchen, fully stocked. The hammock got some use too. Beach access was amazing. Perfect all the way around.
The house was as comfortable as last year. We appreciated the fact that the owners allowed us to bring our newly rehomed border collie. The place was our dogs dream...screened in porched for snoozing, beech to roam whenever she wanted, comfy evenings before the fire in the Franklin stove, and a lawn to roll and play on. We enjoyed it all with her. The cottage is in a wonderful neighborhood away from it all but close enough for outings to the Co-Op and dinners in Blue Hill and many walks and hikes nearby. Also great restaurant and pub right up the road in Brooklin...what else do you need for a great week away from it all.
It's a gorgeous summer spot on the rocky coast of Maine! It's for beach walks (water is freezing in Maine if you don't know), reading in the hammock, and sitting on the porch. The kitchen and gear are good for making simple food. Arcadia and other places are nearby but miles as the crow flies mean longer car rides than you might expect if you're clueless like we were, but worth the time. The house creaks the shower leaks (through the floor-- you can hear drops anyway), so the 5 stars are for it being clean and the spot being beautiful! The beauty of the spot is why we went and why you will want to go too!

Thanks for your feedback and happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for letting us know about the shower, it is now fixed. Hope you have the chance to visit again sometime soon!
Snug Cottage is an adorable, rustic cottage by the sea. My 16 year old son and I enjoyed the quiet location. We rented kayaks and watched two amazing sunsets from our boats in the water. So peaceful! Snug Cottage is not too far from Acadia, and we spent two days there. One day, we rented ebikes. That was a blast! My son and love to watch TV at night, so we brought my laptop. The house has great wifi, so we had no trouble streaming the last two seasons of Ted Lasso. Brooklin is an adorable town, and I highly recommend this quaint little town and Snug Cottage. Oh yeah, don't forget to watch for deer on the highway. We saw at least 20 in the 6 days we were here.
The minute we arrived, we knew Colin and Lizzie had read our minds. We walked into a classic Maine cottage, perfect for two. We fell in love with Snug Cottage, the view, the road, the remoteness yet close enough to town to walk (if we wanted to), close to the Boat School, a perfect beach to walk on and collect shells and sea glass. The furniture and bed(s) were cozy and comfortable. The first few days it was unseasonably warm for Maine, but they had thought ahead and put out the attic fan (as well as heaters), and a wood stove came in handy toward the end of our stay. The kitchen was well-equipped and perfect to use and easy to tidy-up. Books galore, places to snuggle up and read. My favorite place was on the screen porch, looking onto Herrick Bay. The gardens were blooming with fall flowers, and there were outdoor chairs aplenty, including a hammock. The quiet was magical, as were the sunrises and sunsets. Delicious places to eat and/or buy groceries close by. We loved adding to the trove of mementos inside. We loved every moment and were sad to say farewell. Until next year? Thank you both so much.
