Check-in is after 4 PM. Check-out is before 11 AM.
A rental agreement is required with ID verification within 48 hours of booking or before entry, whichever is first.
Pet Policy: Pets are strictly prohibited on this property. This includes all animals, except for legally defined service animals as permitted under applicable law. Emotional support animals (ESAs) and therapy animals are not considered service animals and are not permitted.

Any unauthorized animal brought onto the property will result in additional cleaning and/or damage fees and may result in immediate termination of the reservation without refund.
Inventory: We provide a "starter package" of inventory for our cabin: 3 rolls of T.P. and 1 full roll of paper towels.
You may notice harmless Asian beetles (look like lady bugs) at times, especially on windows. They’re not a sign of cleanliness, just a natural, seasonal nuisance that's hard to fully prevent.

The Roundhouse was perfect! Our family really enjoyed spending time here and loved all the amenities with the hot tub, fishing pond, yard games, etc. We would definitely recommend staying here for anyone travelling to Southern Illinois.

The place was terrific. Be aware there is only one bathroom but it has a large shower and is very functional. The host was amazing and super accessible. My boys actually broke one of the knobs on the hot tub and she was very understanding. Would highly recommend this house. The pond and the outdoor area was great. They even cut a path on the hillside below the house that loops around down to the woods. The kids loved running around that loop. Great get away for families!

We absolutely loved this property! It’s so clean, has the most comfortable vibe and spaces, welcoming gestures and thoughtful touches everywhere! It truly feels like you have your own little private piece of the world except for an occasional car on the road in the distance. Sitting by the pond at dusk, soaking in the hot tub under the stars, and window upon window of morning sunshine flooding the house quickly made this one of the most recharging weekends away. The kitchen had everything we could have needed including all the coffee accessories, an air fryer, and beautiful/functional decor. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the working jukebox! The hosts are so kind and this home felt so peaceful which speaks volumes for them! We can’t wait to visit again in the cooler months when we can utilize the beautiful fireplace. Thanks again!

We absolutely loved staying at the Round House. Everything inside and outside of the house is perfect. We were a short drive away from many state parks. Highly recommend staying here!

We stayed at the roundhouse for our 21st anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better spot.The location is absolutely perfect.Close enough to everything but still felt like a private escape. The property itself is simply beautiful and well maintained. Thank you for making our trip more special in memorable.We left feeling refreshed and can't wait to come back for another trip. Great, unique house for a girls weekend! We had a blast hanging at the house and hiking nearby. We loved spending time in the hot tub and the walking path that the owners had created on property - probably close to a quarter mile long through the prairie lands! Great kitchen, too.

So much detail within the property from a stocked pond for fishing, a walking path while on the property still felt like an adventure in and of itself. The house was clean and the overall setting was peaceful. This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I.

Excellent stay. Very clean. Kitchen was well supplied, beds were comfortable, hot tub was great. Location is very private. Only downside was driving on the several miles of unpaved county roads to get there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend!

We loved the property and its location. Beautiful home just north of the Iron Furnace. House has all the amenities you could need and the area was secluded and peaceful. We will be coming back for our next trip.

Quiet country stay

We so enjoyed the quiet and country atmosphere! We were very surprised at the extra effort this home has to make it comfortable for our stay. And everywhere we looked the home had lovely furnishings! With all the windows, we got to watch the birds! Also, don’t forget the neat hikes close by!

Warmly decorated unique home on a well-maintained large property. Lack of light pollution makes for an easy evening looking at stars from the hot tub or covered patio space. Owners checked in often, though we had no issues. Would gladly recommend.

This round home was so unique, and the most spotless/clean rental I’ve stayed in yet! The space was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. The owners provided everything you could possibly need and more. Both nights we enjoyed watching the star filled sky from the hot tub, it literally felt like a dream. The location was perfect for our visit to Garden of the Gods, but as other reviews mentioned, wish we had brought more food for dinners, as there really isn’t any nice places to eat close by.

This house was beautifully decorated with modern amenities.It was very warm and cozy.The beds are so comfortable. Everything you need except for your groceries! I suggest you bring in every thing you need as its quite a drive to get to the house. And a long drive to stores and restaurants. Be prepared to drive on gravel roads, also. But we really loved the house, all of the windows bring in the warmth of the sun.

When we arrived my wife ran over to the tree line by the pond and counted 27 kinds of birds in 10 minutes with her app (Merlin). In the evening we got a bullfrog serenade, and at night the hot tub overlooked a sea of fireflies floating like stars in the meadow. The location is close by Garden of the Gods, High Knob, Rim Rock, and about 30-40 mins from Jackson Falls, Bell Smith, and a winery. It's on a gravel road, and the tiny bridge on one of the roads from the east is a little collapsed, so no sports cars but SUV and sedan are fine. My only knocks are that I don't know why the main bedroom did not have a king size bed, we had minor issues with a burner on the stove not turning off, and I wish they had mentioned that the grill is charcoal and you need to bring your own. Overall, we loved our stay and next time we come to Shawnee we'll stay here. Perfect for couples who enjoy the outdoors.
