About this property

Country Get Away

If you’re looking for a relaxing get away retreat, we have a 400 square foot studio apartment with a very comfortable Murphy bed. A complete equipped kitchen, huge walk-in shower, and private deck. Beautiful wooded surroundings, with lots of great hiking and biking in the summer, and cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. A writers paradise.
20 miles out of LaGrande, Oregon. Close to great fishing and rafting on the Grande Ronde river, and the Wallowa river in eastern Oregon.

There is no WiFi and no television, but we have lots of DVDs and VHS for your enjoyment.
Adults only please, no children.
If you book in the winter you really need a 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle. We get lots of snow. We also have snow shoes available.
Make sure you stock up on groceries or goodies before you head out to the studio. We’re 20 miles out of town.
A stones throw down the road is Growiser, a wildflower preserve. Lots of trails and beautiful flowers from April through July.
We are also about 60 miles from Joseph and Wallowa Lake. A beautiful scenic drive to get there. 7 miles away in Elgin is the Excursion Train which takes you into the Minim Wilderness.

If you want a true disconnect from the busy noise of life this is a good place to take a break.My granddaughter and I have jobs that are very intense the week before so this was exactly what we needed.

Very nice accommodations. It is basically an above garage apartment, so you get everything you'd expect in an apartment. The only thing is there's no wi-fi, but sometimes its nice to disconnect. Good selection of DVDs, etc. Very peaceful and quiet setting. Charming hosts.
