The "Serena apartment is located up on the first hill above Stresa (about 250 m) and has panoramic views over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding countryside and mountains. It is surrounded by a large, fenced garden and is only 1 km (5 minutes in the car, less than 10 minutes on foot via a private footpath) from the bustling town centre of Stresa. The location is very peaceful and quiet.

Stresa is 42 km (less than an hour) from Milan-Malpensa airport. From the end of March to the end of September there is a bus service called "Alibus" which takes you directly from Malpensa airport to Stresa. Alternatively, a taxi can be arranged for you (120 Euros single).

Its railway station connects you easily with Milan (45 mins fast train), where you can shop, sightsee, or simply sip a coffee and watch the world go by in the majestic Piazza del Duomo.

Stresa is the most popular tourist destination on Lake Maggiore and it's not hard to see why. With its beautiful lakeside promenade dotted with grand Belle Époque hotels and villas, its sunny beach and outdoor swimming pool (Lido Carciano), its delicious restaurants and little shops, many selling local products, its mountain walks and lake sports, there is something for everyone.

The town faces the famous Borromeo Islands of Isola Bella and Isola Pescatori so just hop on any ferry to discover the enchanting beauty of Lake Maggiore, its fascinating villas along the shore, the Piedmont towns of Arona and Intra and the picturesque town of Laveno nestled on the other side of the lake in Lombardy. You can even take a full-day boat tour all the way up the lake to Switzerland (Ascona and Locarno).

Less than an hour's drive away are the ski slopes and nature trails of the Mottarone mountain.

The Serena apartment has free Wi-Fi/Internet. Air-conditioning and heating are also included in the price. Garage and parking at the property (+ EV-charging point). On the balcony, you also have a power point to charge electric bikes. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is a lift.

The bright, spacious living room has been stylishly furnished and has a comfortable double sofa bed, satellite television and fully-equipped open-plan kitchen (dishwasher, microwave oven/ mini oven, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, electric coffee-machine) and dining table and chairs. It opens out onto a balcony with table and chairs where you can eat outside and enjoy the fabulous views over Lake Maggiore.

There are 2 double bedrooms (or two twin-bedded rooms). One bedroom has a balcony and lake view, the other has a view of the garden. It has 2 bathrooms with shower and bidet.

There is a separate utility room with washing machines, dryer and iron + ironing board on the ground floor of the residence for the guests to use.

The listed price is for 4 people; for each additional person it is 15 Euros per day, plus VRBO commission.
The apartment can sleep up to 6 people.

Please note there is the Holiday Tax (Tassa di Soggiorno) of 1 Euro per person per day, children under 6 excluded, to pay on arrival (in cash).

A dog is welcome (for a small supplement).

A wonderful place to stay

The property is just as described and pictured. The description of the steep staircase and walk into town is accurate and not for those with mobility concerns. The property manager was friendly and met us at the door to give instructions. Two grocery stores are very close as well as shops, restaurants and a lovely waterfront path. Easy to get ferries and tours, even without a car rental. Absolutely gorgeous views. We loved it!

The apartment is just outside the Stresa center, a 5 minute drive up the hill, with mind blowing view of the lake, the islands and the sorroundings. Waking up in the morning and drinking coffee to this view was a wonderful way to start each morning.The apartment itself is very nice an clean, with a kitchen , dining room table, and a small leaving room with large screen tv. two large bedrooms and 2 large bath rooms.The owner is very nice, and very communicative via phone or WhatsApp which was very convinient, is always in the area if you need any help. I fully recommend this for your Stresa and Lago Maggiore experience.Fit for a small family.

Große schöne moderne und klimatisierte Wohnung mit großer Terrasse mit superschönem Blick auf den Lago. Sehr gut ausgestattet. Sehr netter Kontakt. Danke an Chantal und Giuliano. Wohnung war piccobello sauber und super ist auch die kostenlose Parkmöglichhkeit, da Parkplätze rar sind. Fußweg ins Zentrum und zum See gut machbar. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet.Zwei schöne und saubere Bad- und Schlafräume. Der Garten ist sehr gut gepflegt, der Hauskeeper ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Weg in die Altstadt und See zu Fuß ist gut zu bewältigen. Für den Rückweg bedarf es einer guten sportlichen Kondition.

Die sehr saubere, klimatisierte Wohnung bietet einen traumhaften Blick über den Lago. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und ruhig gelegen. Etwas unglücklich war unsere Ankunft, da die zu unserer Buchung gehörenden Bilder nicht ganz mit der vorgefundenen Wohnung übereinstimmten. Das Wohnzimmer war kleiner und mit deutlich weniger Sitzgelegenheiten ausgestattet als gezeigt. Der zuständige Mitarbeiter erklärte uns telefonisch, die Größe des Wohnzimmers habe vor uns für eine Gruppe von 5 Personen gereicht (wir sind vier Personen). Diese Reaktion haben wir als unangebracht empfunden. Er bot uns an zu stornieren oder eine Ermäßigung zu erhalten, die uns die Inhaberin der Wohnung dann auch freundlich angeboten hat. Im weiteren Verlauf war der Kontakt zu dem Mitarbeiter dann aber noch sehr freundlich und wir konnten unseren Aufenthalt in der sehr schönen Wohnung genießen.

Urlaub, wie man ihn sich wünscht

Das Apartment liegt direkt an den Ausläufern von Stresa am Berg. Die Aussicht von der sehr großen, teilweise überdachten Terrasse geht über Stresa direkt zum See. Aber auch im Apartment war alles hervorragend. Modern eingerichtet mit zwei separaten Schlaf- und Badezimmern, ideal für eine Familie mit Kind(ern) und wie in unserem Fall sogar mit Hund. Übernacht konnte das E-Auto in dem dazugehörigen Stellplatz für die nächste Tour aufgeladen werden. Der Stadtkern von Stresa liegt aber auch nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Bei Bedarf ist der Verwalter des Apartmentkomplexes jederzeit telefonisch zu erreichen. Äußert freundlich mit englischen Sprachkenntnissen. Das Ein- und Auschecken hat wie zuvor besprochen ohne Probleme stattgefunden. Alles in Allem, wie im Titel angedeutet: Urlaub, wie man ihn sich wünscht.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé l'appartement car la vue est très belle, le mobilier neuf et de qualité, les pièces sont grandes. Nous avons très gentiment été surclassés car il y avait de la place. La ville de Stresa, très accessible en 5min à pied, est très agréable, pas trop de monde en ce début août. Notre voiture est restée dans son garage, face au lac . Une très belle découverte !

Un cadre idyllique

Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve dans cet appartement dont la vue donne directement sur les 3 îles Borromées. L'appartement est très propre (il y avait longtemps que je n'avais pas vu le ménage aussi bienfait), clair, bien équipé. Literie impeccable, salle de bain spacieuse et fonctionnelle. La grande terrasse permet de passer de bons moments même si elle au nord (c'est le prix à payer pour avoir la vue directe sur les îles). La partie couverte est idéale lorsqu'il pleut. Le propriétaire est très accueillant et chaleureux. A noter que les chiens sont les bienvenus. Le jardin est très agréable et bien entretenu avec un accès direct au centre de Stresa en 5 mn. La localisation est parfaite pour prendre le bateau sans avoir à utiliser sa voiture. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.
