Apartment in the center of Pallanza, a few steps from the lake and the beach.
This holiday apartment is located on the ground floor in a small building of recent construction. It is in the center of Pallanza just off Piazza Gramsci. Pallanza is an elegant, lively little town on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Pallanza (and Intra) form the city of Verbania which is the capital of the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
Along the lake there are several bars and restaurants, as well as the town hall with its elegant arcades. The apartment is close to many restaurants, shops, stores and cafes. The bus stop for Stresa or for Switzerland is a few steps away.
Only 100 meters from the rental, you have Lake Maggiore and the "passeggiata" by the lake which takes you to Suna. At Lido di Suna (500 meters) you will find a fully equipped sandy beach with restarants, bars and a swimming pool.
Also 100 meters away, there is the ferry terminal which transports you to the islands (Isola Bella, Isola dei Pescatori and Isola Madre) or even to Switzerland.
The apartment is modernly furnished and all the furniture and accessories are new. There is living room with television (Italian channels) and double sofa bed and a separate corner with double bed. It can accommodate up to 4 people. The bathroom, which is a good size, has a shower, bidet and washing machine and a dressing room. Fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs.
In front of the house there is a terrace where you can park your car. Additional parking (not private) nearby. The apartment has central heating and is available all year round.
You can go skiing at Domo Bianca, which is around 45 minutes by car, and the Mont Rosa ski slopes like Macugnaga are around an hour away.
The parish church of San Leonardo is located in the city center. It was built between 1535 and 1590 and contains some remarkable wood carvings.
Pallanza is also the home of Villa Taranto and its marvelous gardens which can be reached quickly with the ferry or with a pleasant 15 minute walk. The gardens of San Remigio are less known, but can be visited by contacting the tourist office to book a guided tour.
Just off the coast of Pallanza is the island of San Giovanni. The island is privately owned and the Italian musician and conductor Arturo Toscanini lived there. Toscanini was conductor at La Scala from 1898 to 1908 and during the 1920s. You can visit the island on request.
Pallanza is about an hour from Malpensa Airport and 100 km from Milan itself.
