Perfect Escape

My boyfriend and I needEd to escape reality for a few days and this house was just what we needed! Perfect location right on the beach in a cute neighborhood and the house was fully stocked with everything we needed. And, we could bring our dog! Perfect escape!

Perfect location and property

The house had everything we needed and was as described in the listing. Each bedroom has its own bath so it was perfect for our family. End it was steps away from one of the best beaches we have ever visited. It went on for miles and was great for walking with the dogs and the water was a perfect temperature and we enjoyed surfing the waves every day. The neighborhood bars and restaurants were convenient and we walked everywhere. It was a great trip.

Spring Break in 2008

My Family and some Friends, total of 10 and our baby (Dog) stayed in this home last spring. We really enjoyed the house. It was super clean and had more than enough room. Elise was very easy to work with and we are hoping to return in 2009. It was really nice to have a washer and dryer to use on site as we stayed for 9 nights. The fully stocked kitchen and grill was nice to use when we tired of eating out. The neighborhood was very quiet. We will return soon we hope. We all would recommend this home to anyone that has a large group as it accommodated all of us very comfortably. It was also one of the few places that would allow us to bring our dog, because she goes everywhere we go!! Thanks for the wonderful memories!!

Lack of beach view

One towel person for a week, the linen fee is a joke. Two TVs did not work, basement view was a sand dune could not see the ocean. Disappointed with the premium fee for the oceanfront. Great pet-friendly rental. Otherwise, a dated nonoceanfront rental. The price paid thinking I thought it would be a little classy. Worn furniture and bathrooms. Enjoyed our week with pets but we have stayed in better accommodations for fewer dollars. Grills were inoperative. Many disappointments. Would advise others in advance on the dated accommodations. After renting an oceanfront rental where you could not see the beach I would advise don't rent the the three-bedroom.

While the house is beachfront property, you can't see the beach from Unit D unless you go outside, walk up over the berm. I found it very difficult contacting Home Away or the manager or owner of the property. Home Away added charges to my bill without any explination of what the charges were for. Some of the important receipts from Home Away were published in a format that couldn't be printed. i had to put up a $300 security deposit - it's been eleven days and i have heard nothing about the deposit refund.

Thanks for staying with us. Yes, the view from the 1st floor unit D is not a good as the upper level. The home is directly on the beach . All of Surfside Beach is dune protected, this is the way the beach exists and not within our control. This is why we have many pictures and virtual tours for guests that are unfamiliar with the area. Regarding the rest of the comments, we strongly suggest launching a formal complaint with Homeaway as these were THEIR charges and the deposit is held by HOMEAWAY. We are also very frustrated with their newer policies and business practices and also have complaints about how they present pricing and details. It is important to us, the host, for you to know these things are controlled and managed by HOMEAWAY, not us. We love to speak and communicate with our guests, however, Homeaway prevents it. We have been in business many years , with many happy guests and hope that you will return. Also please be aware that Homeaway takes up to 3 weeks to return your deposit after we initiate. We pride ourselves in treating all our guests like family!

The location is perfect, but the house is very outdated. We had to clean the house when we arrived, and it was definitely cleaner when we left it than when we got there. There aren’t “ocean views” from the bottom units, it’s “sand dune views”. TVs weren’t working, Wi-Fi wasn’t working. It was ok, but not worth all the money you spend

Love this house furniture comfortable access to beach not far only downside is if upstairs neighbors are loud you hear it. Management was wonderful to send a text and they got quieter. We would stay again

Backyard beach 🏖

We loved being ocean front and being able to access the beach by walking out the back door. We were great full to have all our kids there and our dogs. The living area and the first two bedrooms were fine. He master was ok but the dressers didn’t really work. Found clothes in one of the dressers. Didn’t love not being able to see the ocean because of the dunes, but it was still a 10 second walk away.

Perfect Location

This property was great! Perfect location, clean, has everything you need, and is very spacious. I loved being oceanfront so the kids could go back and forth and we could get naps in as well. This place is also walking distance to a few restaurants and bars as well. Don’t pass this up!

We were in the lower unit. It is spacious and well appointed. We had everything we needed to make delicious meals from the local seafood. Being right on the ocean and watching the sunrises made it restful. Thank you for letting us use your lovely home and allowing us to bring our dog.

Birthday Weekend Getaway

Almost Heaven was the perfect spot for our family weekend in Surfside. There were 6 of us and a dog and we all fit very comfortable with enough space to ourselves. The access to the beach was wonderful for early morning walks. The house was clean and close to several restaurants. Thank you for a great weekend!

Fanastic place to stay for a vacation. Apt. D is very clean and big as describe and has wifi. A beautiful view of the beach. Wonderful place to go and relax, great for families. I have been going to this property for over twenty years and will keep going. It is so convenient to restaurants, shopping and fishing on the pier. The restaurant on the pier is fanastic. I would highly recommend that you try out Almost Heaven. Elise is wonderful to work with. Great to be able to take your pets.

Great stay at the beach!

We stayed for Easter week (April 09) and just loved the place. It was my wife and I, our daughter and her friend (14 years old), my nephew (14 years old) and my Dad. We had plenty of room, great views of the ocean and we were close to golf for grandpa and activities for the kids. It was nice to be away form Myrtle beach, but close to its amenities. Three resturants within walking distance, and a few bars with live music within walking istance as well. The rooms were nice and clean, and we even had the small private apartment for Grandpa. A great place to spend a week!
