Recently updated! This unit is Located on the Fourth floor in the C building. It is a 2 Bedroom 2 bath unit, with an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico. It has a King, 2 doubles, and a sleeper sofa. Will sleep 8 people. Washer and Dryer in Unit. Non-Smoking. Silver Dunes’ large private beach offers beach service from March thru November, which can be reserved onsite. Silver Dunes is a small complex of 98 units, and is known for its family-focused atmosphere.

Beach Service – If you didn’t pre-reserve beach chairs, just stop by the beach hut or call the Excel team at In addition to chairs and umbrellas, Excel offers kayaks and paddle boards for rent, as well as an assortment of snacks and drinks.
Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, and Shuffleboard – Forget your gear? No worries, you can check out rackets, balls, and more at the front desk at no charge!
Grilling Out – In the busy months of spring and summer, many families opt to grill out rather than go out. We have eight charcoal grills available. There are several seafood markets nearby, including Blalock’s which is just a block to the west (p.s., their tuna dip is a must try!).
Fitness Center – Did you know we have a fitness center in the Penthouse building? Just stop by the front desk to borrow the key.
Family Activities – There’s always something fun on the itinerary at Silver Dunes:
• Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard – Easter Sunday, 9 am in the courtyard
• Scavenger Hunts – Throughout the Spring – for children of all ages! Just stop by the office to pick up your scavenger hunt necessities. Once you’ve collected everything, stop back by the office to pick a surprise from the Silver Dunes treasure chest!
• Movies in the Courtyard – Bring a picnic blanket, your beach chairs, and join us on Mondays at dusk throughout June and July. We show a different family-friendly movie each week.
• S’mores Nights with Live Music at the Pool –Wednesday nights are awesome at Silver Dunes! Throughout June and July, the firepits will be out, s’mores roasting, and tunes playing!

We will not be staying in this condo again. The beds are stiff and not comfortable. The furniture is old and not clean. The refrigerator does not stay cold. We had these same issues last year and nothing changed except for our price going up nearly $700 from the previous year.

Reviewer Comments: living room: Rug is in very bad shape and is very dangerous & needs to be replaced: Chairs are ripped & in poor condition: Curtins have mold on them & need to be taken down: Had to have mold removed on wall & ceiling: The dehumidifier helped significantly: Upgraded larger TV is suggested: 2.Diningroom table suggestion, glass top, chairs are stained & should be replaced! 3. Master Bath tub needs to be replaced or walk in shower! 4. Master bedroom mattress is sagging on both sides from wear & needs to be replaced! A KING size quilt is highly recommended! Molded was detected in bedroom also & was treated by maintenance! The new washer & dryer is a huge improvement! Thank you for the opportunity to provide input on our stay!

The one issue we had at both properties we stayed was cleanliness. Overall, pretty clean, but dust bunnies on fans, ceiling, furniture and the AC filter was filthy. The master bathtub has never drained well in the 4 or so years we have stayed there. The refrigerator needs to be replaced. The TVs need an upgrade. Bigger and smart TVs. The tiny TVs are outdated. The Ice maker does not work and the lights blink on and off when you open doors. Otherwise, we love the condo. There should also be incentives for people who book before they leave and the prices can not continue to go up every year. Check in should be earlier then 4 and check out later then 9.

I do wish the beach service would use the beach area more appropriately and space out the parties like George did rather than a straight line of umbrella. They could put it all in 2 U Shapes and still give everyone a Gulf Front View. The housekeeping was not what we have grown to expect. The windows were not clean, food and sticky places on the counters and furniture as well as the floor. We have a nice unit but it is showing wear and tear. With almost $5000 for the week, they need to update like the competition. bathrooms and tv’s could be updated.

Beds were horrible, bathrooms were fine. carpets in bedrooms need to be changed. kitchen table needs to be smaller and not easy to use. kitchen was great, the coffee machine was broken but they brought us a new one, not the one we had bought keurig cups for but atleast we got a machine. The dust in the apartment was terrible. I think that was the worst part of the whole thing. I don't think it was cleaned like it should be. in the smaller room it was hard to move around with the beds being so tight.

The new outdoor furniture on the patio was so nice to lounge on and seats up to 7 comfortably. The beds are comfy and have foam toppers (love that!). Kitchen is well stocked with dishes/silverware. Pots/pans is slightly lacking for cooking large meals. The wheels on the dish washer rack kept falling off and needs to be repaired.Overall, we love Silver Dunes and unit 1401C. We highly recommend renting at SD!!

Nicely appointed and the location is 2nd to none.

Wife and I enjoyed our stay and had no complaints. This is by far one of the nicest older properties we've stayed in. Everything is fresh and clean. This was our 1st time in unit C1401. It was by far the most uncomfortable master bedroom mattress we have ever had- leaving us exhausted from lack of sleep by the end of the week. There were maintenance issues while we were there that included having the water to our unit shut off for 7 hours one day and having a toilet overflow twice within 2 days. Not things you want to deal with on vacation!! Overall it was a nice trip but it seems the property condition and maintenance has deteriorated over time since management changed a few years ago. We will most likely consider other properties for our next Destin visit.

Our condo was lovely but it was not clean & was poorly maintained. We had some rain & the floor of the bedroom closet became saturated with water - our shoes were soaked on the bottoms. The sheets were threadbare. Elevator only worked some of the time. Hauling groceries up 4 flights isn’t fun.Big rust stains on the walkway by our door. Shower was full of black hair - we have light hair. Worst part of all was that when we informed the office about these things, the woman was rude, accusatory (as though we were lying), and never even apologized for our inconvenience.The air conditioning in my sister’s unit wasn’t working when they arrived. After a day of no cool air they moved them to another unit that was not as nice & didn’t offer to compensate them.The beach there is still great & the service people were really nice but they had us crammed together. They also were allowing the people next to us to feed the seagulls so they were flocking around those of us seated near them. We were not the only ones unhappy about that. This was never allowed in the past. I hate to be so negative because we owned a unit at Silver Dunes for over 30 years, and it has always been a place our family loved to go. So much so, that we continued to rent units there after we sold ours.Unfortunately, the new management doesn’t seem to care about the maintenance or cleanliness of the property, and they certainly don’t care about their renters. I would go back in a heartbeat if someone would come in & keep the property maintained.

Unit C 1401 at Silver Dunes

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very nice. The rooms were nice size in the furnishings were very well laid out. There were a few issues just like anyone that owns a house. Small stacking washer and dryer but it worked very well. No liquid dish soap so bring your own. I do believe that for the price that was paid that you should not have to pay to rent an additional $35 a day per chair on the beach. I really enjoyed my stay and again the condo was very nice but for the same money you could go to Portofino and stay in one of the high-rise condos that has a lot more amenities the same money.
