About this property

The Old Home Place

The Old Home Place has the beauty of the country but only minutes from town. We are 4.2 miles from the Ark Encounter and less than an hour to The Creation museum, Cincinnati and Lexington. Our home is very peaceful, with something for all ages. The view from the back patio is stunning. We sit on 100 acres of land and there is a lot of nature to take in. A nice stroll back the ridge, or a game of pool, will offer you an enjoyable time away from home.
The Old Home Place was recently purchased with the intent of putting my great great grandparents farm back together. If it was still standing the original farm house would be almost a century old, however the original barn is still standing. We have a very nice view out the back including the pond (sorry no swimming allowed) and wildlife. Our beautiful farm can accommodate larger groups, we are a 3 bedroom home with 1 queen bed, a full bed, and a chaise lounge, these are upstairs. Downstairs we 1 full bed, 1 roll away bed and 1 air mattress. We have 2 bathrooms one of which has a jacuzzi tub, and 2 living room areas. Our kitchen located upstairs has all of your major appliancess, as well as the dishes, pots and pans needed to prepare a meal. There is a Keurig with assorted coffee's and a toaster. We have a large fenced in back yard, with plenty of room for outside activities. We offer high speed internet, cable t.v., DVD player with a large selection of DVD's. Other amenities include hairdryers, ironing board and iron, linens, on site laundry, and digital alarm clocks. We also have parking that would accommodate an R.V. or boat if needed. We are sure once you arrive you will want to spend most of your time outside taking in the scenic 360 degree view of rural farm life. Feel free to email with any further questions.

I am a lifelong resident of Grant county, I graduated from Williamstown High School. At the age of 5 (1994) my family was in a car accident which left me paralyzed from the neck down and dependent upon a ventilator to breathe. Although I have face many challenges I have not allowed this to define me. I am an active member at community events Having lived here my whole lifeI feel that I am qualified to answer most questions you may have. I also may know of some unique activities that may being going on while your in town.

Why they chose this property

This 100 acre property belonged to my great great grandparents. They had originally had 400 acres that were divided up into 100 acre tracts. My mother purchased one piece 25 years ago and I still live on that piece today. The farm I just purchased had been bought from the estate in 2008 to a non family member. When they had the opportunity this past year to purchase a bigger farm they offered my family this piece back since it had been in our family for so long. I jumped at the opportunity. The previous owners built the house that is currently on the property, however the original barn built in 1919 is still standing. Although the property has sentimental value to me I believe it offers breath taking views.

What makes this property unique

The Old Home Place not only offers a beautiful setting but all the modern conveniences that any hotel . Sit on the back patio and watch the wild life or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
