The Barracks - Unit 4

This first floor two bedroom one bath unit features high ceilings, hardwood floors, modern décor and an open-concept kitchen and living space. Kitchen features include imported Carrera Marble counter tops and Kitchen Aid appliances. Living room features 65” smart tv with cable and wifi so you can keep up-to-date with all your online streaming shows.

Grounds overlook Jaycee Park in the National Historic Fort Screven District which includes Soccer fields, basketball courts, shuffleboard, a playground and more. Tybee's bike path is great for touring the island and runs along the east side of the park.

Enjoy a short walk to North Beach to enjoy the sand and surf or a bite to eat at the North Beach Grill.

Free off-street parking for 2 vehicles makes staying on Tybee even easier for you and your guests.

Pool Seasonality: The Barracks Pool is open year-round. It is heated on the following date range:
October 1 – December 15
March 1 – May 30
The pool is not and will not be heated from December 15 through March 1 as the air temps are too cool to maintain an adequate swimming temp.

Cleaning Precautions: After each guest checks out, we have professional housekeepers clean each vacation home from top to bottom with disinfectant, wiping down all surfaces and floors. All towels and linens are professionally laundered and individually vacuumed packed until needed. When the housekeepers are complete a member of our team inspects the home, using gloves and/or disinfectant wipes, to ensure nothing was missed and restock any cleaning supplies. We strive to provide the most comfortable environment for your stay.

This unit can be combined to make four bedrooms with two and a half-bath unit.

This was one of the best and most relaxing stays we’ve had in Tybee. This place was amazing! The pool was a huge plus. We had a ton of space and got emails to check on us even during our stay. Bed was SO comfortable. We will be back again. This is our place now. The only thing I would change, and it’s very small was the room with bunk beds. It needs 2 twins and a dresser for clothes. Other than that the entire place was behind what we needed.

Great location near the beach

A short walk to North Beach, The Barracks was a perfect location for our Tybee Beach vacation. Nearby restaurants and stores were convenient. A short drive to Savannah to visit the sights in the city.

Wonderful location

Cute apartment in a wonderful location. We loved the park setting, the pool, and the short walk to the beach. The only negatives (not sure I should even call them that) were the amenities: the dishwasher did not work (and we never heard back); there were only 3 spoons (but 20 forks!); the listing said some things like cooking spray, bathmat, trash bags, etc would be there (they were not); things like that. Not sure if cleaning crew did not do their job restocking. Other than that, it truly was a lovely stay.

Great North End Stay

We loved everything about this property. Great location and beautiful rehabilitation of a historic building. We had a minor issue with not having a pack n play for our one year old to sleep in, but it was resolved easily with the property management folks. My only suggestion would be for the host to add more hooks in the bathroom or some other sort of rack for drying all the wet swimsuits and towels. Will 100% stay here again.

The lovely unit was clean and white. We felt comfortable in the surroundings. Wish I could use your cleaners! Location needs a different sign to enter. We must have passed it 5 times. In your book of goodies you may want to tell people that Solomon Road & Jones Road will take them anywhere on Golf Carts. We had a BLAST!! From Huckapoos to Nickie's - always a fun island!

Don’t think twice, book it!

This was our first stay to Tybee Island & I’m so glad we chose The Barrocks. The unit was extremely clean and spacious. The vaulted ceilings and original wood floors were stunning, so much character. And the kitchen was dreamy and functional. We had issues with our internet connection, but the property management t team took care of it no problem. Check in process was super simple and the pool was great. Water was a little warm but Georgia is hot! We loved the history of this place and the entire island. Easy walk to the beach and the bedding was extremely plush and comfortable. We can’t wait to stay here again! It’s such a special place.

Excellent beach pad for the family

Overall we had a great time. We enjoyed the location on the north end of the island, next to a beautiful park...all part of the original Fort Screven Army post. Staying at a newly remodeled historic location was fun and the accommodations and amenities were perfect for the family. If you have a cart, you can definitely walk to the lighthouse beach for a nice beach day. Our unit (#4) was just right for our family of five. The 3 beds (bunk bed with trundle) were great for the kids and the king bed was super comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked, including all new appliances (oven w/4 burner stove, fridge, dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee pot, and microwave). The kitchen counter with 4 stools along with a 4 chair breakfast table gave us plenty of room to eat and play games. Large screen TV with built in Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. was great. Although only one bathroom, it was plenty roomy and also well stocked with plenty of soap, shampoo and linens, including beach towels! Outside the pool was great, outdoor showers super useful, plenty of parking and rocking chairs on the porch and the basement gameroom (with Nintendo, billiards, ping-pong, and foosball) was perfect after a long day at the beach. So facilities were top notch and huge value for the price. We only had one hiccup and a couple recommendations. The hiccup was check-in. Supposedly we received an email with check-in instructions but couldn't find those anywhere. So when we arrived we called, got voicemail...then sent a text, got an auto-reply, then called again a couple more times. Took over an hour but we finally reached someone in the office who told us what we needed to check in. So that was a little frustrating after a long drive. Recommendations: there was no broom, vaccum, mop?...after 4 beach days the floor was getting pretty crusty. Also the TV with Netflix, etc. was nice but having only one cable channel was strange. Nothing huge, just stuff that would have guaranteed 5+ stars. All in all you can't go wrong with The Barracks. We'll be staying there agin for sure!!

Cute Place and Location

Property was perfect for me and my boyfriend (turned fiancé during our stay)! Pool was great, walking distance to the beach, right next to an adorable park with a walking path around the whole thing. Property was one of the best ones we saw on Tybee.

Loved being right by the park.

The property was great. We really enjoyed the pool. It was nice being right next to the park. We rode our bikes around the neighborhood and to the beach. My son and I ended every night in the game room playing ping ping and fooseball. It was a great trip.

Fabulous location and family friendly

We had a great stay. The apartment was clean and bright and airy - the building is beautiful and the park is great. We loved the tall ceilings. The kitchen was missing some equipment (Any type of bowl for mixing or salad or even to scramble eggs, only had one pot for cooking, no oven mitts or cookie sheet). Access to a vacuum or broom and dust pan would have been good to keep floors clean throughout our stay (sand!). Pool was great - our kids are 5 & 7 and loved using it. Because only eight units share it we were able to use it when nobody else was around and therefore maintain social distancing. The one downside is that sound travels easily in this old building and one of us is a very light sleeper and was bothered by upstairs neighbors kids running around early and people talking outside (This was normal kid/family behavior so not the other guests fault). Likely the upstairs units are quieter. Other adult was not bothered by the noise. So if you are an ultra light sleeper this property is not for you. There was space to park bikes and golf carts. The location next to park is fabulous for families with kids - bring bikes, scooters, frisbees and a soccer and basketball Very short walk to the beach (that is clean and not terribly crowded). People on Tybee were not very careful about social distancing and mask wearing but because this part of the island isn’t crowded we were able to maintain safe distance from others. We were even able to walk on access road next to beach boardwalk so as to avoid getting within six feet of others Getting to and from the beach. Our unit did not have a washer dryer but there were three units in the public area 10 steps from the door and nobody else was using them. We had a complaint based on some conduct by a construction crew in the basement. Property Management was very responsive and handled and resolved it perfectly in a very quick manner. We will absolutely stay again.
