About this property
Century Old Farmhouse at the Flying Caballos Ranch
Once owned by the Madonna family, this turn of the century farmhouse and 100 acre ranch combines old world artistry with modern amenities. The Flying Caballos Ranch is located in the rolling hills of Edna Valley, minutes from wine country and downtown San Luis Obispo.
The historic 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom farmhouse can accommodate 10 guests (2 queen beds and 3 double beds). There are two bedrooms and one bathroom located downstairs and three bedrooms and one bathroom located upstairs. The farmhouse features a full kitchen, dining area, and a cozy living room equipped with TV, sound system, and wifi.
The expansive grounds surrounding the farmhouse offer breathtaking views of Islay Hill and Edna Valley. The backyard features two outdoor restrooms and showers, a large wood bbq, fire pit with lounge chairs, an elevated treehouse hot tub, and antique bistro lighting.
The Flying Caballos Ranch is the perfect place for a getaway with friends & family and also serves as an incredible spot to host your private celebration such as a family reunion, graduation party, corporate retreat, or wedding. Please inquire about rates for hosting a private celebration during your stay, which are booked and facilitated by our onsite Property Manager.
The Flying Caballos Ranch offers several other historic homes that are available to rent. Please be sure to check out our other properties on the ranch (#228164, #228510)
HISTORY:
The Flying Caballos Ranch was originally owned by the Alfred Madonna family in the early 1900's and encompassed several hundred acres, operating as a dairy farm. The Madonna's grew their own vegetables, vineyard, and orchard. They hunted deer and fished for salmon, all on the ranch. Currently, the ranch consists of approximately 100 acres with horse and cattle grazing, a year-round creek, and unobstructed views of Edna Valley and Islay Hill.
