HISTORY: The Flying Caballos Ranch was originally owned by the Alfred Madonna family in the early 1900's and encompassed several hundred acres, operating as a dairy farm. The Madonna's grew their own vegetables, vineyard, and orchard. They hunted deer and fished for salmon, all on the ranch. Currently, the ranch consists of approximately 100 acres with horse and cattle grazing, a year-round creek, and unobstructed views of Edna Valley and Islay Hill.

We booked this lovely farmhouse for graduation weekend, and it was perfect for our extended family, and great for our event. Communication with the PM is stellar, and the place is beautiful
Was a joy to stay in the farmhouse. Rustic charm, dramatic views of the rolling hills, highly recommend! The highlight was hopping between the roaring fire pit and the cedar wood hot tub.
Beautiful Farmhouse and Grounds! Wonderful Property!
If you have a large group, I don't know why you would stay anywhere else. My twin sons graduated from CalPoly and we had our family stay. We had plenty of space, inside and out. Everything you would need and the host was super responsive.
We rented the farmhouse to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday. Three generations enjoyed this rustic, well-stocked, comfortable and lovely farmhouse. The surrounding hills and greenery, fire pit, walks. It’s a fantastic place for a family gathering. We hope to come back and rent the whole property for a celebration with more of our friends.
Wow what a gorgeous property. The house had everything you needed, the beds were super comfortable, and the scenery was just spectacular. We loved using the fire pit (wood was provided) as well as the hot tub suspended in a treehouse. The outdoor lights were amazing at night.
The only negative was that the property manager did not respond to any of my text messages during our stay — one of which was asking how to turn off some of the outdoor lights because I was unable to find the light switch described in the house binder.
Overall a fantastic stay.

Thank you for your kind words about the property, I am so thrilled you and your group enjoyed the beauty of the Flying Caballos Ranch! I am so sorry that you were not able to get through to me! My cell and email address were provided in the binder. I just went back and confirmed that I did not receive any texts or emails from you during your stay. I’m wondering if you mistakenly texted the wrong number? My apologies again for the inconvenience. We hope to have your group back out to the ranch in the future! Sarah

Bachelorette Party Weekend Get-Away
A group of 12 of us stayed here for my sister's bachelorette weekend and we were all completely taken away by the charming farmhouse. The entire house was stocked with the necessities (besides actual food, of course, but it is conveniently located near grocery stores). We loved the huge yard with the breathtaking views. We spent most of our weekend bar-b-queing, hanging out by the fire-pit, hot tubbing, dancing and sun-bathing. At night, the tree lights made the entire farmhouse look so magical. Everything about this place was picture-worthy.
It was also a huge plus that the farmhouse was pet friendly. Parking was easy, location was convenient, and Sarah was a joy to work with. She was quick in responding to emails and meeting her for the check-in was a breeze. I would definitely come back and would highly recommend the farmhouse to large parties.
This property is so charming! The farmhouse is the perfect combo of 1905 nostalgia and modern convenience. We were quite comfortable with 7 adults and one dog :) The location is amazing!! out of the hustle & bustle of summer tourism, but super convenient to SLO, Pismo, Avila, Morrow Bay, etc.
Pismo Beach put on an awesome fireworks show for the 4th!
We had a super fun stay!!
Wonderful stay at this cozy farmhouse, very unique; quaint place. Close to pismo beach & morro bay which were our target areas. Overall a great experience. Manager was prompt to an incident at house and was resolved within a few hours. By then we were in Morro Bay.
My group had a really wonderful time here. The house itself is charming and clean while the property has everything you need for a great weekend! Weather was pretty chilly so we got great use of the fireplace and hot tub and the yard was perfect for our dogs and playing games. There’s enough space where everyone felt like they could do what they wanted. We went to some wineries in Edna Valley which were all a short Uber away from this location. I have never stayed at an airbnb or vrbo more than once and I absolutely see myself coming back here. Highly recommend!
We are two families with tweens & teens. We stayed for an extended weekend and could not have had a better experience! The property is amazing - lots of space to run and play, different seating areas, fire pit, and more. Our timing was incredible and we enjoyed an unobstructed view of the Neowise Comet - so exciting! Along with enjoying SLO and the coast, we walked to the Tolosa Winery next door. Sarah, the owner, is kind, clear, and responsive. We can't wait to go back!
The ranch house is charming, cozy, comfortable and well appointed. The property is incredibly beautiful, even more than the photos show! The management was very responsive and helpful. The only knock is that it is very close to the SLO airport, so the noise bleeds over. That said, we'd stay there again without hesitation. The FC is a great one!
Lovely house, great for families visiting each other.

Beautiful Venue, Incredible Staff!
We rented this property for our annual holiday party and, despite inclement weather, we had a wonderful time. Not only is the property located in a beautiful and private setting, Sarah and Tori are two of the most helpful and attentive staffers we could have wished for! At every step of the way, they were there to help out and really made the difference in our event going well. Thanks to you both!

Amazing weekend getaway and perfect spot for a wedding!
This past summer I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid in a wedding held at this very special ranch. The spaciousness of the property, combined with the three separate accommodations made it not only an incredible space to host the wedding of my dear friends, but also the perfect setting for an unforgettable weekend for family and close friends to celebrate, enjoy each others company and stay comfortably all together in a beautiful location.
Between the outdoor grill, the hot tub and plenty of space for lawn games, our group spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the perfect SLO weather. The scenic setting of this ranch makes practically impossible to not to relax. The guesthouse and cottage, where family of the bride and groom stayed, were very nicely decorated and had everything you need for a comfortable weekend stay.
I personally stayed in the main farmhouse with the bride and the rest of the bridal party. The warm and inviting layout of the home was ideal for preparing and having meals together, finishing up last minute wedding crafts and relaxing with the bride-to-be. The day of the wedding we had plenty of space to get all of us ready with hair stylists, makeup artists and photographers in tow. The bright colors and beautiful furniture of the rooms made for great pre-wedding photos.
The wedding itself was magical and the property is laid out in such a way that each portion of the event had its own special location. From cocktail-hour near the farmhouse entrance, the ceremony in a scenic field overlooking the valley, a wonderful dinner in the backyard lit with strings of bulb lights and of course the dance floor…that was full as soon as the music started! One of my favorite things was the fire pit, which made for a cozy setting to catch up with friends and take in the beauty of the whole night.
Overall, I couldn’t have had a better time at Flying Caballos Ranch and can’t wait to return. Members of the bridal party and I are already talking about renting the property for a long weekend so we can take advantage of the nearby wine tasting. I would highly recommend this property to anyone planning a wedding, reunion or even just time away with friends or family. It truly is a unique place where everyone can come together to create lasting memories in a beautiful setting.

Magical Farmhouse
I had the opportunity to stay at the Flying Caballos Ranch Labor Day weekend 2015. The whole wedding party was so delighted that we got to stay together for four days sharing meals in the bitchin kitchen and working together preparing for the Big Day. Family stayed in the Farmhouse as well as the Guest House and Cottage. We enjoyed how the 1950's retro-farmhouse theme spilled over into the rehearsal dinner BBQ we had outside under the amazing trees that were all lit up with globes from "back in the day". If you had brought your dancing shoes the built-in dance floor was ready for you.
I can't say enough about Sarah, the Property Manager/Event Co-ordinator. She was so helpful to all of us. She had the uncanny knack of anticipating our needs and met them all. I've never seen anyone run around and get so much done. She's not only efficient and professional, she has a good sense of humor and we love her sunny disposition. Weddings can be stressful for sure, but she had us laughing and saw to it that the whole day went smoothly.
The huge trees, old out-buildings and rolling hills made for lovely backgrounds for the photographer. Everywhere you look you would see amazing photo opportunities. I think the fire pit was one of my favorite areas of the property for gathering, toasting, making s'mores and keeping the party going. I was surprised how many family members thought to bring a swim suit.....the hot tub got lots of use after a long day of setting up for the wedding.
I will say this; when the sun starts to go down the ambient light around the farmhouse was breathtaking. We have spectacular photographs of one of the most special days ever. When family gets together we reminisce and have already started making plans for a reunion back at the Ranch.

Amazing weekend!
My DIL found this beautiful farmhouse for a family weekend. My daughters boyfriend was proposing and wanted us to share in a celebration weekend in SLO. We initially wanted a beach house but couldn't find much for a large family group. It was a magical place. We enjoyed every minute. We could make our own food and also bring in their favorites like Splash clam chowder. We had two babies in our group and it was so nice for them to play and run around. Fenced yard helped so much. Everything in the farmhouse is vintage and unique, so many exquisite little touches. The linens and beds were so comfy. The house was clean and well stocked. The fire pit was especially nice in November.
Sarah was pleasant and easy to work with.
We all loved it and my daughter and her fiancé loved it so much they have recently booked it for their wedding reception venue!
