We enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Southern Oaks Guest House. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for a weekend away. Rhonda was a great host and communicated well with us. Would definitely stay here again.
The host was very kind to call prior to arrival to see if we needed anything. Easy checkin and very convenient to Abita Springs Cafe, Brewery and pizza place. Beds very comfortable and loved the screened in porch.
Great location; close to the trace, restaurants and brewery. The house is so cozy also and decorated so well. The house had all the amenities we needed, and Rhonda was great to work with. We all enjoyed our stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. The location was wonderful and it had everything you could even think of needing. If back in the area, will certainly stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed a recent girls getaway! The house had everything we needed, super quiet neighborhood, very quaint! Rhonda was easy to communicate with and very helpful about things to do nearby! We all agreed we will return for another stay!
Rhonda’s place is simply charming. From the moment you pull up to the house you’re transported to a magical experience. Coming from the desert in Arizona, we loved sitting outside either in the front or the back - able to enjoy the sunrise or sunset.
This quaint home is cozy, nicely decorated, and in a very quiet location. It is roomy and the kitchen is well stocked. The owner was helpful and easy to work with. We enthusiastically recommend it for an interesting and restful getaway.
The property was super clean and Rhonda was very responsive through the checkin process. I will stay at this property again if I ever find myself in this area.
Our host, Rhonda, was very helpful throughout! She made us feel welcome accomodations worked beautifully.
Abita Springs and Artiques Market were delightful
The house was absolutely perfect! We were able to rest and be away from the hustle and bustle of our every day lives. The house had everything one could need. We thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to returning… if you are looking at this property to rent, book now, you will be so happy you did!
The home is everything that it is advertised to be, and the location cannot be better. Beats a hotel by a mile! Our group of 5 was very comfortable. The owner Rhonda is great, very considerate and responsive.

Our group of two couples had a wonderful getaway at Rhonda's home. It was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Trace and the ease of renting bikes and exploring the area. We loved the fire pit with provided log too, and enjoyed making stores! Rhonda was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again

You are so very sweet. We hope you come visit again soon with us! Glad that you enjoyed the front porch!
The cottage is a sweet place, but Vrbo lists it as 4 bedrooms which is incorrect. I found it a little creepy that the owners watched us on the security cameras. I‘ve also never had a place charge me for an extra person when it doesn’t exceed the amount of people the listing states that can stay there.

Vrbo had it at four bedrooms, which one was the queen sleeper sofa. We spoke with VRBO and had that corrected. Also, we never watch guests. We have a front door camera which goes off when someone walks to the front door.VRBO said that our front door camera is legal. Also, you verified that you went back and saw the listing charges for extra guests.
We are sorry that you had some complaints. Our listing tells everything.

I am a local that enjoys this little historic town. I love history and art. I am the mother of twin daughters that are 27 years old and they help maintain this operation. I enjoy talking to people and seeing them smile.
Why they chose this property
This is a very stylish, cute, cozy under the Live Oaks and its relaxing and spacious for any occasion. It is also on a secluded road where there is not constant traffic. The only traffic would only be the neighbors coming and going. All of the neighbors are very nice and very trustworthy. Very relaxing. You are in walking distance to the heart of town where everything is. You are three blocks away from the St Tammany Trace for biking and walking. It was an old railroad which is now a 31 mile track for walking, running, biking, and horse back riding. This town was an old boarding town for people who traveled here to relax and come get well if they were sick from the medicinal healing powers of the water, discovered by the Choctaw Indians. It is quite a lovely little historic town. Great amenities in town. Very safe
