Prepare your meals in a newly renovated kitchen or grill and dine al fresco in the covered patio or outdoors on the front lawn. Read a book in the book under the stairs on a rainy day. Stony Lake is a spring fed all-sport lake great for fishing, swimming, power boating, sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaking.

The cabin is located on the south side of Stony Lake which makes access to local attractions easy, such as Lake Michigan, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan's Adventure, golfing, cycling trails, and more. Ludington, Pentwater, Montague, Hart, and Whitehall are all within 30 minutes.

We loved our stay! We’ve been coming to Stony Lake area for many years and we’re so happy to be able to stay here for this trip. The house was very clean, lots of space for the family to both spread out for alone time and enjoy time together over meals and puzzling or games. The outside spaces were also amazing - easy access to the water and lots of great options for sitting outside. Ample parking in the driveway and very easy to check-in and out. Definitely recommend and would 100% stay here again!

This was a beautifully restored cabin, so much character! Lots of different areas to spread out to. Enclosed porches, plenty of tables, furniture to relax on, sleeping areas, great fire pit close to the house! We loved our morning coffee on the lower porch, which has comfortable wicker furniture, looking out over the lake was very peaceful & watching wildlife. This isn't a swimming lake, too weedy. So Lake Michigan is only 5 minutes away and the beach and stream are very nice!Thank you Mary!!

Cabin relaxation

This cabin was the perfect fit for our family. The kids enjoyed the closeness of the lake for rafting and fishing and it was centrally located to many of things Lake Michigan has to offer.

A beautiful, clean, lovingly appointed and cared for restored cabin. Fantastic location with a top notch lake view and more than enough room for a large group. We brought our canoes and paddle boards and had a great time paddling around Stoney Lake and to Lake Michigan. Although walking in the water near the house was mucky at first, wear water shoes and then get to the water beyond the seaweed - the swim in the refreshing water is so worth it! The two porches are the best feature. We ate most of our meals, had coffee looking at the lake, and completed two jigsaw puzzles on them. Lots to do in the area, including riding bikes on the nearby Hart-Montague trail and amusement park, Michigan Adventure. We loved visiting the Country Dairy and enjoyed quite a few glasses of their unlimited chocolate milk (get the burgers, they are excellent - the sandwiches not so much).We look forward to returning in the future - it was a wonderful week.

The property was amazing - spacious and clean. The yard was great with plenty of room to play games, there was great lighting too! Fishing off the dock was a family favorite. The beach at the house wasn’t a good swimming area but we found access to Lake Michigan 5 mins away. Golf, tubing, and other local attractions make this a perfect location! We loved our stay - thank you so much!

Perfect Stony Lake Cabin

Clean, neat and user friendly. Ample mumber of beds, multiple separate gathering areas, 3 showers which never ran out if hot water (with a group of 6). Full sized washer and drier was a huge plus with kids. Plenty of room to spread out both inside and outside on the property.

Beautiful cabin

We had a large group of family for our annual get together The cabin is just superb and very picturesque Everything we had wanted Our only negative comment is the beach area is not cleared and brush cut to allow more space to hang out , our grandkids loved to play in the water off the dock so only a minor comment Thank you for a great place to remember

Our “Happy Place”

This was our 3rd time renting this location and we had another wonderful time together. Plenty of room to spread out, lots to do on the lake and in the area (like Silver Lake or Lewis Farms or Pentwater, etc.) and the fire pit and evenings around the fire are a highlight. Everyone - no matter the age - loves this place! Looking forward to next time!

Unique Log Cabin on a Quiet Lake

This house has been beautifully restored and was immaculate upon check in. We liked that we could enjoy the lake but also pop over to Lake Michigan beaches for a change of scenery. We enjoyed the firpit and starlit skies at night. Owner was very responsive to our questions and the kitchen was well appointed. Great place to get away from it all and reconnect to nature and family!

Thank you for your review! A neighbor previously dumped sand, which was not allowed, and it has since grown in with grass. We’ll be updating our listing photos to better reflect the current state. The waterfront is still accessible and usable for play, but it's now grassy rather than sandy. Appreciate your call out!

Great spot. We spent most our time at the local lake MI beach access which was a mile away. Although public it felt private. The house was very clean upon arrival and had everything we could think of. The decor and all the antiques within the home were very cool. We ate out locally one night at The Farmhouse (great steak) and grabbed pizza a couple times at the local market close to the lake. Would love to try this place for ice fishing in the winter after learning there is walleye and pike!

Best family vaca

The renovated log home is beautiful inside with so much character. We kayaked from our dock to Lake Mi in a short time, Grilled ribs and steaks and ended evenings around bonfire. Also 30 minutes from Mi Adventures. 10 minutes from Cherry Point fish boil, Golf courses and winery. Family votes to return again. Thank you

A delightful property for large group

This is a perfect size and location for a large group. Plenty of parking and outdoor space. House easily accommodates multiple generations. We spent countless hours on playing games at the large table on enclosed porch off dining room. It is beautifully updated but still has rustic charm. We brought our own kayaks and SUP and spent many hours on the lake. Very conveniently located to Lake Michigan for those who want to be at beach. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a spacious place for family and/or friends.

Winter Weekend

I booked Mary's cabin to celebrate my wife's birthday with some family and friends. We were 12 in total (7 adults, 5 children) and had tons of space to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The cabin was super clean and provided a perfect atmosphere for a wintertime gathering. It's also excellently appointed with a well-equipped kitchen (including pancake griddle!) and many thoughtful details throughout. We were warm and cozy, with everything we needed to enjoy our weekend together. Thank you Mary.

A true log cabin with character...

Great week, great weather! We loved the rennovations that were done on the original log cabin, smart improvements, but maintaining the charm and originality of the log cabin from the field stone fireplace to the log rafters and stairway. The kitchen was awesome and well appointed right down to the spices! The knotty pine in the additions was a nice touch. The property was spacious, the firepit was a hit multiple evenings, the fishing continuously gave smiles and energy to the kids! both the gas and wood grills were perfect from chicken to Steelhead...! Thank you for the great family stay!

Beautiful log cottage

This is a beautiful, log cottage with an old time feel. It has modern amenities like a/c and a fabulous, stocked kitchen, but a cozy, retro cottage vibe remains. Location is great. We had SO many fun activities with a 30 minute drive. The only thing that was different from the listing was the water front. For our visit, the shore was overgrown and weedy (compared to the photos online). We still went swimming but some in our group opted to wear water shoes due to the plant growth. Overall, we had a ball! Wonderful property!

Family get away

Perfect spot for 7 adults and a baby. We rented a pontoon boat from 3rd coast rentals and bought a tube and spent a lot of time tubing. Anchored and floated in a family block. Sunset cruises and bonfires. Early morning fishing on the dock, in kayaks or the boat. Nightly fires in the fire pit with s’mores. Fantastic beach (esp good for small kids) where the lake runs into Lake Michigan, like a mile away. Guys loved a day golfing at Oceaniana Golf club. And it’s July, so blueberry picking one morning also. Perfect, memorable and cozy. A place where memories were made. Thanks for sharing your home!

Had a wonderful week. Very close to Lake Michigan beaches and several other attractions. A little disapointed we couldn't swim off the dock as it was too shallow but our boys enjoyed the fishing.

Our "Happy Place" Rental

Like many families, ours is a bit spread out and this cottage has become a place where we can gather and make memories together. The cottage has plenty of room for adults and kids and the basement provides space to play games or watch T.V. if it's a rainy day. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans for meals together and we can eat on the kitchen, on the porch or outside. The dock and swim float provide plenty of fun for all and evenings around a bonfire are how we ended each day. Already looking forward to next year!

Gorgeous vintage cabin

We had a lovely stay at this property. It was very nicely updated and had all the necessary items. The property owner was also very responsive and helpful. We thought the area was cute and enjoyed being so close to the beach. We were slightly disappointed that the beach pictured was filled with weeds but Lake Michigan beach was perfect. We’ve already discussed returning!

It's the perfect all seasons family getaway. Summer brings the opportunity for swimming, horseback riding, golfing, dune exploration, cycling. Fall brings beautiful colors as well as hiking, fishing, and antiquing. Winter is full of fresh powder, ice fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. And with spring comes fresh asparagus, bird watching, Holland tulip festival, and more.
