Beautiful Tuscan Home Overlooking Colorado Springs
Featured in the local 'Springs' magazine as a "Home Sweet Home", this amazing home is nestled on the foothills, 1000 ft above Colorado Springs on it's northwest side. It is just south of the Air Force Academy in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Very close is Flying W Ranch, Glen Eyrie Castle, Garden of the Gods Park, as well as many other attractions.
For special weeks of the year, (AFA Graduation, July 4th holiday, Thanksgiving week, and other dates as available upon request), our whole home, including the studio apartment, is available. Although the rates here include the studio, it can be reserved at a reduced cost, without the studio. Also, there are beds for16 people although Colorado Springs limits all short-term rentals to a maximum of 15 guests.
This upscale, elegantly decorated, and comfortable home is not only spacious but has sweeping city and mountain views. It's the perfect place from which to experience wonderful Colorado Springs and time with your family.
From the welcoming front porch, you'll step into the travertine marble entryway with exquisite faux marble columns. The views will greet you through the far windows as you draw inside to a great room featuring a floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace (complete with remote). With a 17' ceiling, it’s both airy and comfortable for conversation or enjoying the large screen smart TV and/or blue ray player. A dream kitchen beckons and has everything needed for cooking up memorable meals or importing a local chef. The professional series stove has large and small ovens, and a griddle as well as the 4 large burners. Take advantage of the ample counter space and the elevated center island with stools, as well as a large pantry with additional small appliances. Watch the sunrise or see the mountain shadows slide across the city from the dining nook furnished with a unique table & chairs all hand painted by the artist/owner. The master retreat is tastefully filled with an antique bedroom set and has a private sitting room in the adjoining round turret for those treasured “tete a tetes”! More travertine awaits you in the luxurious master bath with a large whirlpool tub and a steamy rain shower. There's a double sink vanity, a private toilet area, and a roomy closet. On this main level, there’s also an office/laundry room, a powder room, and an amazing partially covered deck with wrought iron railings, a professional TEC Thermal Infrared Grill, and comfortable seating from which to admire the mesmerizing view spread out before your eyes. With binoculars, we’ve observed Big Horn sheep, lynx, and foxes lounging and frolicking on the foothills. Plenty of deer, rabbits, finches, hummingbirds, magpies, and other birds share our surroundings as well as the more elusive eagles, hawks, and falcons. A large bonus room in an upstairs tower makes a good retreat for playing games, doing puzzles or crafts. Through an ornate wrought iron door, you can step out on our “Juliet” balcony for a bird’s eye view of the landscape.
Down the stairs is a lovely lower level with its own entrance that walks out on to covered and furnished patios with views of the city, mountains, and eastern plains. There's a great room (another kitchen and living area) where the leather couches are the perfect place to relax, converse, or watch the 55" HDTV (cable, Netflix, dvds, and Play Station 3). There's an expandable 9' trestle table and chairs with leather seats for everyone to gather. Another well appointed kitchen downstairs has an island for food prep or serving, a walk in pantry complete with extra small appliances, additional folding chairs, and booster seats. There is a water and ice dispenser on the door of another large refrigerator, a coffee station, a dishwasher, a microwave and toaster.
Through wooden castle-like double doors is a game room with a quality combination pool and ping pong table, and an air hockey table. On either side of the great and game rooms are 4 spacious bedrooms sleeping 12 guests.
One master bedroom has a massive king bed with marble top nightstands, a dressing table with a make up mirror, a side chair, and full size closet.
The other master bedroom (the royal room) has a king bed, nightstands, a bench, a full size closet, and a turret sitting area painted by the owner/artist with a castle mural and furnished with a round table and velvet chairs.
Another very large bedroom has a queen bed, a trundle bed with 2 twins, a matching desk, a mirrored dresser, trunks, and full size closet.
The fourth bedroom features a queen bed and a futon. There's a spoon carved bookcase filled with cards, dice, and board games. This room contains a linen closet and a clothes closet.
All bedrooms are provided with necessary bath towels, hand towels and washcloths for each guest.
We also have 2 pack n plays for toddlers and babies as well as a safety gate for blocking access to the stairs.
There are two full bathrooms, with double sink vanities, and rain shower bathtub combinations, and private/semi private toilets. Each bathroom is centered between 2 of the bedrooms. One of the bathrooms has a laundry closet with a stacked LG front loading full size washer and dryer that uses HE detergent.
And the house goes on! This extra unit is included but may be deleted if desired.
There is a special 1000sq ft. industrial themed studio apartment under the garage which sleeps 4 more guests. It adjoins the downstairs, but can be closed off for privacy. With its own key coded entrance, it is light and airy, open and inviting, comfortable and relaxing. This new and fun space features concrete ceilings, half stone walls, and custom Edison bulb light fixtures.
There's a comfortable king wall bed with built in reading lights that's easily raised and lowered. Heavy privacy curtains can be drawn around it at night. A daybed with a pop-up trundle has two twin beds. A portable lightweight screen can be set up for more privacy.
The bathroom has a walk-in rain shower with colored lights, a double sink vanity, a private toilet, and a closet with hanger rail and drawers.
The kitchen area has a microwave/convection oven, a 2 burner induction stove top, a large refrigerator, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, toaster, and a butcher block island with stools. All you'd need to prepare and serve meals (not the food) is provided including spices! There's also walk in pantry for storing groceries and odds and ends. The glass top table and 4 stools are elevated to maximize the great views from the windows.
A large screen Smart TV with a blue ray player (dvds available) are in the comfortable living area with a cushioned settee, wicker chairs, and a long desk with a rolling chair. A lighted and mirrored cabinet is filled with card, dice, and board games.
Through a sliding barn door is a small room with a Precor treadmill from which you can watch TV as well. This is also a great place to store suitcases, coolers, etc.
There's also a laundry closet with a full size front loading washer and dryer as well as a rack for hand drying, an iron and ironing board.
While being totally private with its own wheelchair friendly entrance, it can adjoin the lower level through a lockable door.
The landscaped back yard is home to a new and unique Observatory which we'd be happy to show all interested guests! We also added a game alley for playing corn hole and ladder golf. Our views can be enjoyed from porch swings and rocking chairs, from covered patios or under umbrellas, and from different outdoor eating areas, both upstairs and down.
Let our home be your home away from home and your home base for exploring colorful Colorado! You'll be glad you did!

The hosts genuinely care about your enjoyment of the beautiful home. We have four elements of our family and all had a private space and king size bed with great common areas to enjoy together. The observatory is an added bonus. Central to everything, cool in the July mornings and evenings and a view that amazes. Thank you.
We brought 4 families to this house and had a great time. Each family was able to have their own space and still be able to congregate in the large living areas. The views were wonderful and we could easily get to many of the Colorado Springs attractions. We would definitely stay in this beautiful home again when in Colorado Springs.

We loved having and meeting you all. Thanks for the TLC you gave our home while staying. Please return anytime!
The detail in all the decor, much of it done by the homeowner, is quite astounding. The separate living areas were also appreciated, with grown children and family staying with us. The view from the home and the neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. We also saw deer and other wildlife in the yard, as well as on walks.

Thank you for choosing to stay here with us and for being such fantastic guests! Please return anytime!
Our extended family, from different areas of the country, decided to get together this year in Colorado Springs. Thankfully we chose to stay in this beautiful Tuscan styled home which was large enough to accommodate our parents and 3 sibling's families. There are two separate living areas downstairs which allowed the different families to come and go without disrupting others. We did most of our meals at home and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our food. Most evenings, we spent our time on the large rear deck, talking and gazing at the twinkling lights of Colorado Springs or the stars on clear evenings. And in the morning, drinking our coffee and watching hot air balloons in the distant horizon. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating, we would definitely stay here again!

Best Stay in Colorado Springs for a medium size group!!!
This home is indeed a home away from home! It was clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and very well appointed! We had 6 families and each felt like they had their own private accommodations! The hosts thought of everything and were very friendly and gracious! No stone left unturned! The check-in process was easy-peazy! They views were amazing and great access to anything you want to do in Colorado Springs! I cannot find anything negative to say about our stay! I would definitely recommend and the next time we are in the Colorado Springs area, if available, we will be booking this property!
It was a smooth process through VRBO. The owners, Bryan and Joan were great and met us when we arrived. The home was nice and roomy with two levels inside and out and worked for our family of 13! It was a wonderful vacation!
