Perfect for the family!

We were in town celebrating milestone birthdays and the house was a perfect basecamp! Comfortable rooms, good communication and an easy walk to the beach (keep in mind its a little steep).

Pickle Port

The location is fantastic. The views are excellent. The seating availablity is spacious, room for all.The house has great features. The new side is bright and roomy. The old side has great charm and character.Some maintenance with doors and lights are needed. Unable to find light switches for kitchen as well as ceiling fan in large room. A deep scrubbing of kitchen cabinets, pots and pans would really add a sparkle of life.

Great area and home for a weekend trip

The house was perfect size for a group of five. Comfy beds and a great breeze running through the well equipped house. The beach was a five minute easy walk too and the market was very useful and seriously only a 30 second walk away. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and views

We enjoyed our stay at this charming beach house. Kitchen was well appointed and beds were comfortable. The views from the house are fantastic and it’s an easy walk to the beach and general store. Only cons... there is not much closet or drawer space and the shower is really small, but overall a great place for a family. I’d definitely stay there again.

Great Getaway

I loved my time at Dillon Beach. My house was perfectly located and had a wonderful view which I enjoyed from my deck and all the windows facing the ocean. I intend to return to the same property again in the future.

We booked this very last minute girls trip and were just hoping for something decent and it ended up being perfect. It was a great location with a great view and fit 6 grown women perfectly. We had a beautiful time. We will recommend to others.

Amazing place foe the family!

This house is perfect for a family and some in laws! Great location and amazing views! We had everything we needed in yhe kitchen. No dishwasher or washer dryer, which wasn't a big deal for us. New updated appliances! Fantastic place!

Great stay!

This has to be the ideal place to stay in DB! We loved this beautiful home’s location and view. Super close to the beach! Had almost every amenity (no dishwasher but we survived😂)! No difficult stairs for our elderly dog. We’d definitely like to rent it again!

Overall great location and view. Cons: - might consider a exterior remodel. Very run down looking, balcony was too small to be inhabitable. - might consider a bathroom remodel. Shower did not feel or look clean. - house only has 2 bowls to eat from. - missing a pizza cutter

Pickel Property convenient but needing TLC

We have stayed at the Pickel Property 4-times and appreciate the quick access to the beach and the store. The property is aging and in need of new, or updated sliding glass doors, rotting deck boards replaced, and window screens would prevent the flies and bees from coming in. The water pressure is also quite low-tricky to wash off sand and can’t have two faucets running at the same time. Linda, the manager, is helpful and quick to reply.

Homey House and Perfect Location

Husband, son, and I enjoyed our stay for a weekend getaway. The home is in a PERFECT location, with the beach a block away and the Market/Kitchen just across the street. The back fence has a gate which made it so easy to pop in and out throughout the day as we moved back and forth from the beach to the house. The home is older, but it has loads of charm, comfortable and clean. Beds/linen were comfortable and the views were awesome. Don't underestimate the need for pexiglass barriers on the deck...the wind during sunset can whip and the back deck was perfect for protected sunset viewing. We felt lucky to be welcomed into what is obviously a family home and couldn't help but wonder about the family story. There's several paintings that decorate the walls that were done by who we referred to as 'grandma'. Just a lovely place to stay. We are already looking for open dates to stay again before the end of summer. Thank you so much!

Problems with parking, kitchen, and bath.

This property is dark and a bit dreary overall. It DOES have a living room/dining room space that is all windows, and a newer bedroom that had more light, but the rest of the house is dark. The kitchen was small, dark and had no garbage disposal or dishwasher, so we didn't cook there at all. The only bath is quite a tight squeeze, has almost NO counter space, and you can't bend over in the shower. The house has a lot of steps inside, so watch out for tripping. The living room has netflix, but only a small sofa--really maybe 3 people can watch TV (there is a chair, but it doesn't face the TV). There is a general store very close, but it has almost nothing in the way of food. The one restaurant was only open on the weekends, so we had to drive 20-45 minutes to find food for every meal. If you don't want to do that, plan on bringing absolutely everything you will need. There are two "decks", but they are tiny and can barely fit 2 chairs each. The parking was atrocious--we have a pick-up, and we could barely squeeze it into the space in front of the house. Overall, we thought this property was quite overpriced for what it had to offer.

Terrible Management Experience - Security Deposit Ethics

The rating is entirely due to the poor experience I had with the management. The home was very convenient and comfortable, and we enjoyed the stay. My only recommendation would be to add a shower caddy and I also think some mowing and back yard maintenance would be nice. It was tough to see there was even a back gate. I received approval in writing prior to my stay to bring my 2 dogs despite the policy only allowing for 1. I paid the pet deposit. I was charged $250 after my visit and was told it was due to dog hair in the bed. I do know that dogs on furniture or in beds was not allowed. I brought dog crates for the dogs to sleep in because that is how they sleep at home. After explaining this to John (Linda?) I acknowledged they were shedding so there was dog hair in the home but we were not in violation. I would have vacuumed if I had access to a vacuum. He just responded by quoting the contract, including how I violated it because I brought 2 dogs which wasn’t allowed. I responded by referencing the pre-approval email I had, and he just ignored it. He said there was also blood in the bed. I’m not sure which bed because he never responded but I’m guessing it was my daughter’s because she had oral surgery a week prior, it could have been on the pillowcase. I would understand being charged for that if it could not be laundered. I was charged $250 and wasn’t given clear details, photos, receipts -nothing except quoted excerpts from the rental agreement. Awful

This was our second time staying at this property and we had another great time. Wonderful views and the sound of the waves crashing coming through every open window. Very well equipped home for a long weekend at the beach!!

Great ocean views

This house had amazing views and very close proximity to the DB store and beach. Beds were very comfy and it was nice and clean. The front room could be greatly enhanced with more inviting/cozy furniture. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware, utensils and spices. Plan to bring anything else you might need (baggies, tin foil, cooking oils etc.) We loved the big dining table for dining, games and coloring. Note for owner - the coils in the toaster were sparking and could be a possible fire hazard. You may want to replace it. Thanks for a nice stay!!
