About this property

Charming Mountain Cabin close to Lake Burton!

Our rustic cabin is located in a peaceful, airy setting! It has front and back screened porches for additional living/dining space. And brand new central HVAC! Recently updated, this cabin has all of the creature comforts you need while enjoying nature and the laid-back mountain life. The WiFi is strong for streaming and WiFi calling. Surrounded by lovely mountains, this cabin has a relatively flat lot.
We are across the street from Lake Burton, so we are close to the water. Access to the lake can be found at the local marinas and publicly at Moccasin Creek State Park as well as the Timpson Cove Beach.
Our cabin is a 2 bedroom/2 bath (both baths on the main floor) with the second bedroom being a large sleeping loft that accommodates an additional 4. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep and have a "ladder" feel to them.
There is a TV in the great room and another in the master bedroom. Both are able to connect through Roku if you have an account for Netflix/Hulu/Prime Video/etc. YouTubeTV and Frndly are signed in and ready for you to use.
No pets please.
The neighbors are super friendly, but will leave you alone for privacy. And we are just a text or message away if you need anything.
The serenity of this area drew us here to visit many years ago. We are so excited to share our space with you as you explore the lake and surrounding areas!

Quiet charming cabin
The cabin is comfortable, and in a great location to explore north Georgia. It's practically across the street from the dock on Lake Burton, a short drive to Clayton, and only a few minutes from an AT trailhead, wineries, great restaurants and much more. If you're looking for a great home base for exploration, this is the place!

Annual Fall Hike
Great central location for all our favorite places to hike. Cozy and very comfortable but be careful of the stairs, they are steep.

Family Fall Vacay
We loved our time in the mountains and Lake Burton! We enjoyed a day of sightseeing in Helen, GA and a day of hiking to see some of the local waterfalls (Anna Ruby Falls and Hemlock Falls). This was the perfect family getaway! Thank you to the LaFontaine family for sharing their retreat. They were very responsive to all of our messages.

About the host

We are a couple of UGA Alums who now live just outside of Athens. We both enjoy the beach, but LOVE the mountain lake life. With 2 young children, we tend to get a little busy with the daily grind, so a retreat was just what we needed. That's what we've tried to create at our Charming Cabin. A retreat - but with all amenities just in case you need to stay plugged in!

Why they chose this property

This particular cabin had our names written all over it the very first time we saw it. It needed a little love to spruce it back up to its full potential and we have spent the time since we've owned it doing just that. It will continue to be improved upon with time, but we have already seen that it is a haven. A respite. A natural sanctuary for those who love the outdoors and indoors alike!

What makes this property unique

The vaulted wood ceiling and exposed beams, plus the large open sleeping loft, were the first things that caught our eye. And the double screened porches on the front and back of the cabin just completed the perfect amount of space for a getaway!
