Spring Break on Burton
Arrived on sunday afternoon all was clean and ready for our arrival. Large cabin lots of wood throughout. Master bedroom and bath is huge plenty of room and closet space. Upstairs bath and bed rooms perfect for our two younger boys . 1/2 wrap around porch is pleasant in the morning for coffee. Basement area is fantastic for our grown son to have his space and area. Garage was not accessible for parking due to construction storage but was able to keep dog kennel and kayak inside. Left on saturday very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Easy boat parking and convenient outside receptacles and water hose access. Excellent property would definitely rent again!

Older cabin in need of updates
The downstairs suite has been updated nicely. The rest of the cabin hasn’t been touched in decades. The outside has a terrible amount of spiders and spiderwebs. It does not appear to have been cleaned in quite a while. Overall, a nice location next to Lake Burton but this cabin is in need of some TLC and updates.

Nice Cabin
This was a nice cabin. Very clean. Nice layout. Newly added apartment in the basement. Full batch and kitchen. Very close to Lake Burton and the boat shop for renting a boat. Upstairs bedrooms are a little warm in term of a/c. Overall great cabin.

Spacious but needs serious improvements
This cabin was nestled off in the woods and had a quiet and peaceful ambiance. There was plenty of space for 3 adults and 4 kids as we spent a week there for a softball tournament in Clayton, GA. The kids had room to practice during the day and I was able to WFH with their reliable internet connection. My AT&T cell service worked perfectly there and never lost signal in the roads leading there. Whereas these were the things we enjoyed, I have to be honest with the entire experience. Upon arrival I was called and informed that my 4pm checkout couldn’t be honored due to the cleaning staff not having the home ready for our arrival yet. I was contacted back around 6pm letting me know that we could now checkin. Once we arrived we were greeted my a home that seemed cleaned but we found throughout the week to be quite a mess. There were numerous stains on the carpet downstairs and the home held a weird stench. There were numerous broken items such as the stools in the kitchen, the Murphy bed on the 3rd floor, the shower head on the main floor as well as the bathroom floor on the top floor. The garage that’s advertised, only opens manually and the walk around private deck was infested with spider webs and debris. I contacted the Vacasa Property manager and I kept getting the run around on who was supposed to assist me. By day 2 I took it upon myself to make the best out of the experience since I clearly wasn’t getting any assistance. There were condom wrappers under the main floor bed, dirty cleaning rags left from housekeeping, unfolded blankets in the closets (we couldn’t tell if they had been used prior ) and sunflower seeds shells throughout the cabin floor. The bath rugs were all stained and filthy as well as the kitchen needed to be somewhat deep cleaned before using. This home could have true potential in “wowing” guests if the housekeeping was up to par and the property manager was effectively responsive. I enjoyed my stay in the area, but as a travel agent I will never refer anyone to this cabin or to any Vacasa property.

Rodents, spiders, flies and more
Where do we begin…mid way up to Ga, Vacasa contacted us stating “we are sorry but we have to move you to another cabin bc the one you booked has a bay infestation so, upon arrival to the cabin they talked up to as being new and we would be the very first guests staying in, we assumed wow this is nice…well we walked into absolutely no yard for the children to play in, no my views but the real kicker .. the first floor covered with hundreds of flies. (Both of us being in law enforcement/ first responders, of course our first thought was omg someone’s dead in the home) so we entered the home and luckily nothing dead, but we were greeted by mice, mice droppings on all the kitchen utensils spiders, a floor in the master that we both questioned whether or not a murder took place here at some point as there were large dark stains when you first enter and long marks across the floor. When we contacted Vacasa’s the response “well there’s nothing we can do tonight so I suggest you go into town and get some traps.” Having our 3 children with us, my husband went into town and purchased bug spray, mouse traps etc. clearly the owners must have known about the mouse problem as we found multiple traps thru the Home behind the fridge and under cabinets in master bath. Oh and the master bathroom toilets have no doors. The space looked under construction and hodge podge decor. The pictures look beautiful but until they clear the space of rodents and bugs and oh the pillows were old, stained and flat like crepes. I will say that Vacasa refunded us 2 out of the 7 night stay but that was about it. I give 1 star.
