About this property

The Rustic Farm House with a Touch of Modern Charm sits on 79 acres.

This 1940's Farm House is hidden in plain site. It has been stripped down to its original bones. It's unique features give it great character. This two bedroom one bath features a four foot round galvanized tub shower combo. It has a full kitchen, minus the dishwasher, with everything you need to prepare your own meals. If cooking was not on the agenda your just minutes away from historical downtown McKinney Cultural District, offering a variety of boutiques, restaurants, pubs and wineries. After a trip to town, take a walk down to the pond and prehaps go fishing. Enjoy a game of horseshoes or make smore's in the fire pit. The house is surrounded by 79 acres of farmland, it sits on top of a hill so there is always a breeze. Relax on the porch with your favorite beverage and watch the cows and calves as they graze in the pasture. If you need some alone time, cozy up by the fireplace with a good book. Great family getaway or couples weekend retreat. Its not the Hilton but its feels like home. It is a 1940 farm house so it does get COLD in the winter even with heaters. The house isn’t really design for long term rental….No WiFi…No washer/dryer…All money goes through VRBO. If you have a pet ….select pet in pricing.

Eclipse Trip
The property was perfect for seeing the eclipse. It was peaceful and provided us an out of the way place that was still close to everything we needed for the trip. Check-is was easy and the place is beautiful.

Comfy with cows and a cat!
We got away to have a nice place to work and plan. This was the perfect spot. It is beautiful and had everything we needed. We loved having Kali the cat to keep us company during the day and seeing the cows each morning. The beds were comfortable and the surroundings were relaxing.

Little slice of heaven close to town
Our family stayed at Susie's farm for 2 nights, and loved every minute. The house is adorable, and the beds are so comfy!! We enjoyed having a fire each night, and snuggling with the barn cat, Calie. Downtown Mckinney is less than 10 min away! We will for sure be back!!!

What a Rustic Fun Experience!
Our family of 3 adults came down from Canada for a concert. We chose this cute restored farm house as it was a mid way point from the airport and our concert destination. Susie was a super responsive host and has done a wonderful job of turning her grandparents home from the 1950s, into a rustic fun experience. All of the thoughtful touches from the vintage decor to the farm feel throughout, was so much fun, we loved it. I really enjoyed showering in the horse trough, I mean you can’t do that everyday! We were greeted each morning by Kali the farm cat, along with the cows in the pasture just outside our door. The beds were super comfy and we had great sleeps. Historic Downtown McKinney was full of charm and a real treat to check out, just a few miles away. If you would like a few steps up from camping, you’ll love this rustic experience.

Why they chose this property

My grandparents purchased this property for 9000.00 in 1954. The main house burnt down not long after they purchased the property. My grandfather was a bus driver for Richardson ISD. After he dropped the kids off at school each day he went to the farm to feed the cows, pigs and chickens. They never moved into the other house.
