About this property

The Riverside Farmhouse is a 20 minute drive from Brattleboro with its charming shops and hip bars and restaurants. In the summer: swim, fish or inner-tube from our private West River "beach" -- or head to the glorious music of Marlboro or Manchester or Yellow Barn. In the winter: ski at Stratton or Mt. Snow, sled in our back yard, or just cozy up by the fire with board games or play the upright piano. In the fall: bicycle or leaf peep or head to the myraid harvest festivals southeastern Vermont has to offer. Spread out in the three bedrooms; two full bathrooms; four inviting living areas; large, eat-in kitchen and formal dining room with walls of windows to enjoy the lush back yard; farmer's porch in front to watch the sunrise; large deck and screened porch in back to watch the fireflies or listen to the West River; outdoor shower to soak off the day and watch the bees and butterflies. Park your skis/coats/boots in the heated entryway and light a fire in the magnificent, marble fireplace or head upstairs to the TV/game room and settle in to enjoy the myriad offerings of this country colonial, nestled in a hollow along the West River. Great flow, private river access, easy drives to Brattleboro, Mt. Snow, Stratton, and the Marlboro, Manchester and Yellow Barn music festivals. Riverside has it all!!!

Ski week with family

We loved our stay. We actually stayed in one whole day and it was lovely. We played games in front of the fireplace, listened to music, etc.

Charming, cozy and quiet home with 21st century amenities.

My husband and I stayed for a week in this beautiful home with access to the West River. It was exactly as presented in the listing and we could not have been more pleased. The host was delightful and communication was excellent. Even though the original house was built in the 1800's it has been lovingly cared for and there are 21st century amenities throughout the home. It also has a well stocked kitchen for preparing meals when dining in.The surrounding area is beautiful. We are looking forward to staying there again.

Magnificent visit

Terrific stay at a gorgeous home. Deborah, our gracious host, was a wonderful steward of our stay. Her home was even more beautiful than pictured (and the photos were lovely). Terrific location just around the corner from Newfane’s town center and shouting distance to everything Southern Vermont has to offer. Thanks for everything.

The perfect Vermont experience

Our stay was everything we hoped for. A beautifully decorated farmhouse with picturesque views. The best stocked kitchen we've seen, and a welcoming host. We would definitely book again! Thank you for making this a great trip!
