Great cabin! Very clean, well cared for family retreat with everything to make your stay a memory that will last a life time :0) Thank you for sharing your beautiful lake cabin with our family! We left feeling refreshed and truly Blessed!
My family of 5 (plus dog) had a wonderful vacation here. The cabin was incredibly clean, essentials were provided, communication from the host was fantastic. The kids were able to swim and fish from the dock and had a wonderful time. We did rent a boat for the week (fish springs marina) and were able to easily use the slip provided. We have had ups and downs when renting, this cabin goes way up in the “win” column. We are already looking to rebook
We had a great time! Loved having access to the water as we did spend some time fishing. The stairs are steep but build well with platforms. Thank you!
The cabin was accurate to the description. It had a well-equipped kitchen with nice appliances. It was very clean, with comfortable beds, life jackets, ping pong table, gas grill, and firepit. The dock area was great. We brought a boat and used the dock area quite a bit. The lake was beautiful. It was a wonderful place to stay. Jeremy was helpful with everything we needed before and during the trip.
This place was awesome. Very clean and cozy. My son got to catch a couple of small fish off the dock and we are definitely getting a ping pong table of our own!
This place has everything you need plus some. House was big enough for 4 adults and 3 children and we never felt cramped. A great deck with a beautiful fire pit next to it. Easy access to the dock and was stocked with everything we needed linens, beach towels, life vests for every size you could imagine. Grade A place. Not to mention it’s the cleanest most beautiful lake I’ve ever seen.
Casa Lago was a fantastic getaway spot. Mitch was a very accessible property owner for general questions, and the cabin had everything we needed and then some. Quiet, peaceful with beautiful views. We absolutely loved it and will be telling all our friends.
Also see our buddy Tanner at Fish Springs Marina if you want to rent a pontoon boat for the day. Just a short drive from the cabin.

Everything We Wanted!
Enjoyed our stay at Casa Lago. Beautiful cabin! House had everything we needed. When internet access was out one phone call to Mitch and it was fixed in 10 minutes. House is isolated from others which was perfect for us. No noisy neighbors! Dock was first class and the canoe and kayaks were appreciated. Highest recommendation!

My family and I took a last-minute trip to Lake Wautuga. We were fortunate enough to find Casa Lago available. Jeremy was very responsive, starting with answering a couple questions when booking all the way through our checkout. Multiple times we told ourselves how great it was that Jeremy really thought of all the small things, from a lemon/lime squeezer and first aid kit, to air mattresses and extra sets of linens. The dock was great for our boat and we enjoyed the water toys available to us. Highly recommend this beautiful, peaceful, and very quiet, place on the lake.
Overall, this was a great cabin. Very clean and well maintained property, and was fully stocked with any supplies you might need (paper products, utensils, pots/pans, dishes, cleaning supplies, etc). We stayed for 7 nights, and it was a great spot for fishing. Lots of catfish and blue gill! My son and husband had a lot of fun at the dock! There were a few things I did feel needed some attention. The couch in the living room isn't the most comfortable, and had quite a few rips/tears. The beds were too firm for my liking, and pillows were too flat (in my opinion). I thought the bath/hand towels could use a refresh - they weren't very absorbent. Also, there is a door in one of the guest rooms that leads to the garage, and there isn't a lock on the door at all. It made me a little nervous, but that might not be a big deal for some. The front and back doors both had an extra "chain lock" on them, but both fell off because the screws/nails were so loose. There was an excellent assortment of water toys, but they were SUPER dirty (spiderwebs, leaves, etc). Granted, I'm not sure how long it had been since they had last been used.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Lago! We spent the mornings hiking and then the afternoons out on the water. We brought a boat and were able to dock it right at the house, however, for those who don't bring anything, there are still options to rent a boat or use the kayak, rowboat, etc. left by the owner. We took those out some days too.
Afraid you're missing too many gym days while on vacation? The stairs to and from the dock are great for your daily workout, so no need to pack anything with you. We also hiked the AT and hit some state parks in both TN and NC. There is no shortage of outdoor activities within an hours drive of Casa Lago.
Lastly, the place itself was great. It's probably one of the cleanest VRBOs we have stayed at over the years. The beds were comfortable after a long day of outdoor activities, the TV is equipped with all the channels you need, and the kitchen made it so easy for us to cook in that we felt right at home! While we cannot review any of the restaurants around, we found the grocery stores convenient and well-stocked, especially if you head into Boone. The owner was quick to respond to any texts we had with questions or concerns.
The only "issue" we had was with the Wi-Fi at first, however, once the owner's dad came and reset it, we had much better success using it. This was important for us as our phones did not have service in this area of the lake (in other areas it worked fine) and our son was taking a summer college course which required him to have internet access. We appreciated the owners communication and finding a resolution!
Overall, we highly recommend Casa Lago to anyone looking for a place to stay on Watauga Lake!!

The pics and detailed summary do it justice! Blessed to be able to stay and enjoy this home!
Magnificent ! We checked in after dark (6:30 lol) but it was well lite an easy, especially since it was just my son and I until the hubby made it in after work.
They were not kidding when they said the kitchen was fully stocked with every need. I love to cook and grill. We checked in, unloaded, prepared a steakhouse style meal and had the most relaxing evening just taking in the surrounds with the warmth of the home and sounds of nature outside!
We launched our boat and brought it back to the dock where we enjoyed fishing off the dock (nice size bass caught) and a beautiful ride around the lake. Remember it’s November and it’s 24 degrees wind chill factor but it was the best boat ride around the cove! The home has extra warm and comfy blankets we could use to keep us warm on our ride! And if we had not brought the boat, their John boat would been our means of transportation to view the beautiful scenery around this home and lake!
A weekend was way to short!
Most importantly, from a woman that is OCD about cleanliness and sterility (OR scrub nurse), this home was pristine clean with all kitchen appliances, pots, pans, glasses, bakeware, utensils and bathrooms, linens, etc way above par.
The communication and help from the owner were amazing! It was like messaging a friend!
An unspoken advantage was that our cell service did not work here. You can connect to the WiFi, make WiFi phone calls, use the house phones, message people and have internet on the phone. We had family drop in and sent the ones who needed to know in case of emergency the home phone. It was simi-unpluggin. We had the great aspects of technology without the negative ones!
Our family feels so blessed to have stumbled across this Casa Lago!

Ashley,
Wow, thanks for the nice and detailed review. We try hard to make Casa Lago as clean and comfortable as possible (even when the weather outside isn't). It's been a cold fall we've actually had many days in November in the mid sixties. Glad you made the best of it. Thanks for also taking great care of our home. Hope you can make it back in the summer. Thanks again for your review and your stay at Casa Lago. Mitch and Carmen
