PEACE & TRANQUILITY, Mtn.Cabin By A Stream Near A.T. And Roan Mtn State Park
Thank you for considering our mountain cabin as your vacation get-away! We find peace and tranquility there and we think you will find it as well! The cabin, just over 8 years old is still just like new and offers sleeping accommodations for up to 10. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one queen bed (new Tuft and Needle mattress), and one full bed (new mattress), and an upstairs loft area that has two single beds and one full bed (ALL have new Tuft and Needle mattresses!) Additionally, there is plenty of space to blow up two queen air mattresses if extra space is needed for kids or extra people. The fully equipped kitchen offers stainless steel appliances and a sitting area to view beautiful Roan Mountain or any wildlife that may be playing in the yard. The large living room area is equipped with a semi circular leather couch with recliners on both ends and a large ottoman. Rockers are available in this room, adding sitting space for large family gatherings. There is a large flat screen TV over the mantle, offering a movie like setting for those who enjoy movies or TV. The front porch of our cabin is equipped with a swing, two rockers and other porch chairs, offering an early morning getaway for readers and bird watchers while listening to the stream. This is a favorite spot for almost everyone who visits the cabin. The back porch of the cabin is a great spot to grill and entertain. The 10 acre property that the cabin sits on has a natural walking path for those who like to get exercise without having to leave the cabin to do this. Additionally, there is a natural fire pit just across the bridge by the creek where you and your family may enjoy smores and late night chats. The creek water is adjacent to the firepit and readily available to extinguish the fire/embers after use. All seasons are beautiful here, as nature puts on a display of brilliant colors depending on the time of year. We hope your stay at the cabin will be a time of refreshment and renewal.

The host was great very accommodating in everyway. The cabin was great especially that we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary there. We love the quietness. This was our second time at this cabin. We definitely will be back.
We stayed in this beautiful cabin after hiking and had the best time. The cabin was clean and beautiful!!! We were able to unplug and enjoy our family while playing board games,
Corn hole and grilling out. We will definitely be back!!
The cabin and the property were just beautiful. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to be back again in the future. You couldn't ask for a better place to unwind and relax, especially if it's with friends and family.
It was beautiful! It was so nice to be unconnected from social media for the weekend! We got to sit on the porch, have coffee and watch the deer! The cabin was beautiful, plenty of room. We will definitely be back!!!
Amazing cabin, beautiful property! Communication was great. Cabin was super clean, had all the necessities, we even cooked a few meals and cooked on the grill. There is no Wi-Fi or cell service which was great!! Location was convenient to all the places we wanted to visit. Definitely would stay here again!

Pristine Cabin
Great property to bring back good ol'fashion Family Fun! Cabin is cozy & quaint. Absolute silence was a plus. Cleanliness was superb!
Highly recommend if looking for some R&R or bringing the family together 💗
Thank you for sharing. We loved your cabin and the history shared. We can tell you are proud of your family and surroundings. We would recommend this spacious property and would visit again. Thank you, Dawn
The property was perfect. There was no internet or cell phone service and it was nice to disconnect for a few days. Beautiful property. We saw deer, turkey and the children loved playing in the creek and s'mores by the fire. Lots of relaxing time on the front porch.
I have just concluded my third visit to this beautiful property. The serenity and peacefulness of this incredible cabin keeps calling me back for another visit. Yes, there is no internet or cellular connectivity in this location, but that is just what you need to get off the grid and regain your sanity in these turbulent times. I fully expect I’ll be back for a fourth visit in the not too distant future. I strongly recommend a visit You won’t regret it.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cabin!! It was perfect for our family! The kids enjoyed the creek and walking around the property! Everything was very clean and well stocked! Reading about the history of the land and family, seeing all of the family pictures was an interesting bonus!! We thought the kids (teenager) were not going to handle no cell service well, but it was great to actually enjoy family time and regroup! Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin!!
Cabin was perfect. Nice bathroom with plenty of hot water and towels, good water pressure. Beds slept great, kitchen supplied well and the gas grill was great.
There wasn’t much of anything in the way of grocery stores so either bring it with you or buy it in Elizabethton. All but two of the local restaurants were closed. Bakers pizza was a life savor in that the pies were great! They have excellent breakfasts too. Very nice stay and will do it again.
It’s definitely out in the country so peace and quiet are just the ticket. Lovely cabin with great fireplace. Kitchen nicely equipped and big refrigerator. Outdoor fire pit next to bubbling creek. Bring fire starters. There is a grocery store in the town of Roan mountain for last minute perishables. We will be back

Very nice
Everything was great except for the interior lighting which was a little dim. Small complaint compared with the very nice cabin. VBRO on the other hand is difficult to deal with.
Peace and Tranquility is the perfect name for this property. It is perfectly situated, surrounded by trees, a singing stream flowing out front, and a beautiful valley view of the mountains. Yet, it is just a few minutes drive to the town of Roan Mountain and the State Park. The cabin is well equipped with all you need except internet and cell service. We downloaded movies on our computer so that wasn’t too much trouble. This is truly a place to unplug and relax! Hope is a super host!
This property does not disappoint! I loved the quiet front porch with sounds of the creek and views of the groves of ferns. It is cleaner than any other rental we’ve ever stayed in, the beds are comfy, and it comes with a well stocked kitchen. We had great communication with the owners who quickly responded to all texts/calls. We hiked Roan Mountain, the balds at Carvers Gap, and Elk Creek Falls during the days and enjoyed puzzles, board games, creek stomping, firefly catching, star gazing and bonfires in the evenings. It was nice to unplug and just be with those we love. This place is a true haven!
What a lovely surprise to find this gorgeous cabin was available for our last-minute short stay in the mountains. Hope was so helpful and made the check-in process quick and easy. She provided a wealth of information to make our stay comfortable. We loved learning the history that is tucked inside the cabin with pictures and stories of family. We simply needed more time to truly appreciate the peaceful sound of the creek at night and the fire-ring for roasting marshmallows. Roan Mountain was a new area for us to explore, and we are so glad we did. Climbing to the tops of the balds and capturing fall colors with miles of views in all directions was the highlight of our visit. We would love to return for another stay at this cabin in the future.
This is by far one of our best getaways!
First of all, Boone Cabin has to be the cleanest home we’ve ever stayed in. The wooden floors are fabulous.
If you like to hang your clothes use the space above the washer/dryer in the second bedroom. Otherwise, I dug out my hiking clothes each day from my suitcase.
The cabin is filled with a rich family history which we enjoyed learning about. My husband, teen daughter and I found plenty of room to spread out during the day We gathered together at the intimate, (yet has plenty of seating,) dining table to eat meals and play games. The views from the windows are stunning. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have found in rental homes. We enjoyed the duel Kuerig and coffee grind maker.
The land surrounding the property is so peaceful, we especially enjoyed the stream, fire pit and walking around the property.
Seeing deer, humming birds and fireflies were highlights.
If you need to have WiFi or cell phone for work or other reason you need to go into town to connect. But I enjoyed not being “plugged in”. This is a great place to unplug and enjoy a good book.
I would love to visit in the fall!

About the host
Hosted by Hope Radebaugh
Our late father had our cabin built in 2015. It was Daddy's goal that the property would be enjoyed by family and friends. Having grown up in Roan Mountain, moving away, then returning to vacation at the cabin and where we grew up, it has never been more clear that the beauty of Roan Mountain and the peace and tranquility found there is a gift from God and one that is not easily found in other parts of the world. Our cabin is a special place, surrounded by natural beauty that is hard to replicate. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We grew up in Roan Mountain. It is one of the most beautiful places on the East Coast.
What makes this property unique
