Monache: Top Floor Larger Studio, Fully Remodeled Studio. Dog Friendly.
TOT #7475-0005
Fully remodeled larger Monache studio on the 7th - top floor. Overlooks the front entrance as well mountains, the Village, and is abut eye level with the gondola. Almost everything inside is new -- New rustic/modern furniture/lighting and flooring, as well as original artwork throughout the unit — sleeps 4 in Mammoths best and most luxurious hotel. The heavenly king bed is complemented by a new sleeper sofa—the most comfortable one on the market with no bars or springs across your back to ruin your sleep, and it has a Tempurpedic foam mattress to make losing the coin toss no big deal. Unlike other studios the new kitchen table seats 4. There is no better way to enjoy your stay in Mammoth than by immersing yourself in modern elegance within this top floor studio at the Monache. This unit model is also the largest studio of all the Monache’s studios. Let this be your home while you play and explore all the beauty that the Eastern Sierra is famous for. At the Monache, the newest and most beautiful hotel in Mammoth, you are steps away from the Village and Mountain Gondola. The Village is the hub of action in Mammoth; concerts, festivals, movies under the stars, shopping, restaurants, ski and bike rentals, gondola to the slopes, as well as free shuttles to take you virtually anywhere you want to go—it’s all steps away. After a day of fun come home and relax in front of the gas fireplace or soak in one of two outdoor hot tubs nestled next to the saline swimming pool set among the trees, there’s also a BBQ area as well as a workout center. Hungry? You're an elevator ride away from the 'Whitebark' an elegant restaurant within the Monache's lobby. While waiting to be seated relax on one of the lobby's couchs next to an amazing replica of 'Devils Postpile'. The Monache is one beautiful hotel. In the summer the mountain bike tram picks up in front of the gondola station or you can catch the free Red Trolley that'll take you around town or up to the lakes basin--they'll even take your dog and bikes. So come, enjoy it all, and leave your car parked in the underground parking structure. Lastly, I allow dogs. As a big animal, and dog lover I appreciate when guests include their dog on their vacation, I bring my Cheyenne everywhere as well. That said, I rely on guests to bring only well behaved, non-destructive and potty trained dogs. Once a dog soils in the unit other dogs are more likely to do so. Therefore, if a dog does go to the bathroom in the unit I will charge a minimum of $50.00. Guests are fully responsible for their dogs--please see to it that they don't soil or damage the unit. They also can’t bark such as to disturb other guests. If there is excessive hair requiring extra cleaning I will charge accordingly. I simply ask that you be respectful of your home away from home. Check out my other properties; one in the Village and 2 more in the Monache. It's a terrific property, on the top floor of the Westin Monache, a short walk to the Village Gondola albeit with a fairly steep flight of stairs down from the property and then back up at the end of the day. As my wife says, good conditioning. The studio is very well appointed and decorated with everything you meed for a stay. Check in and out was easy and as described. We'll stay again.
Spacious studio with ample garage parking, walking distance (literally across the street) from The Village at Mammoth. Everything matched the description. Excellent mountain views from the top floor and quiet location. Excellent communication and thoughtful touches made the stay memorable. Clean and well-maintained property. Enjoyed the unique decor and ambiance. My wife and I would definitely stay here again!
Looks just like pictures. Very clean, comfy and quiet. Really enjoyed it!

Superb location - watch the gondola run past your 7th floor window. Walk out for a brew and a pizza. Hotel hot tub and pool were very inviting - nice gym too. Owner made everything hassle free. This is on my short list for future visits.
Great property! We usually stay in the Village, and the Westin is just as nice. The room is cozy—perfect for two, though a bit snug for four. The only thing that felt a little out of place were the personal photos of the owner. Totally get that it’s his place, but if you’re renting it out, it might be better to remove the pictures of yourself and your dog. That said—adorable dog!
This was such a great place to stay with my wife, our 18-month-old, and our pup. The gondola was just a 3-minute walk away, as well as the main village. The free coffee every morning was a nice touch! Follow Jeff's instructions, and you’ll be good to go. Park below and unload from the parking structure—it’s much easier than using the roundabout outside. Great stay; I will definitely stay here again!
We had a great time in this studio at the Westin Monache. It was perfect for us and our 2 little pups. It was tastefully remodeled and a perfect space for us to go hiking, swimming and eating out in the village. We loved that everything was so convenient and the responsiveness of the owner with any questions. We will definitely stay again in the winter and enjoy all the ski amenities the Monache has to offer.
The place is just as pictured and described. Jeff sent very clear and concise instructions. We didn't need the kitchen but it was stocked. The bed was comfortable and the shower was very nice! The view from the room was also nice. The Village was an easy walk from the resort/room. I'd stay here again!

The property itself was nice overall, but I was disappointed with the cleanliness. The owner was very strict about dog hair and keeping the place pristine, yet I found hair (dog or human) on the couch, floor, bed, and even the toilet. My biggest issue, however, was the smell. The towels and all of the bedding (blanket, sheets, pillowcases) had a strong odor of body odor and mildew. The pillows were particularly bad — to the point that I woke up during the night from the smell. We reached out to request a refund for the cleaning fee, but the owner never responded.
While the location and setup of the place were good, the lack of cleanliness and responsiveness from the host made the stay much less enjoyable than it should have been.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The place is well decorated and is appropriately equipped with all you may need for your Mammoth stay. The only recommendation I have is to use non-nylon sheets for the bedding (too hot for the summer). The mini fridge was also a bit loud. Other than that highly recommended.

Unacceptable Accommodations
Jeff has a lot to learn if he wants to be a successful VRBO host. I realize that 12 guests prior to us had positive experiences, however, I cannot help but think that these were all written by friends of his. The space resembled and reminded me of when I crashed at my friends frat house in college. The property was far from clean. The bedding on the pull out couch was covered in dog and human hair. After seeing the overwhelming amount of hair I then realized why everything in the space was dark colored from the sheets to the towels. My wife had to spend the next several hours of our vacation going back and forth from the Westin's laundry facility in order to ensure that everything was clean. When we proceeded to remove the pillow covers we saw the, what seemed to be, urined stained pillows.
Our family of 4, between skiing and daily activities, had to take multiple showers per day however Jeff only supplied 4 dark colored towels in total. Instead of a bath mat that could be hung out to dry, all that was supplied was a rug.
I have attached pictures. One is of my backpack that was placed under the night stand next to my bed. When I went to retrieve it the next day, that is what it looked like.
I could add a lot more, but the last thing I will point out is the broken closet door which made it nearly impossible to access what was inside.
Jeff, I apologize for the negative review but, as I stated before, you have a lot to change if you want to create an acceptable experience for your guests.

This guest was an example of what some people are now trying to to do which is get a free night stay by making false claims ... I didn't do it so this inaccurate false review is the result.
This place was more then I expected. So peaceful, quiet and clean. The view was spectacular. Close to everything, I was able to hike, watch motocross, eat, walk and shop all within a 10-20 minute drive or a walk. The owner is very responsive and helpful. I can not say enough good things about this property and location. I’ll definitely be staying here during the winter to return to snowboard.
Perfect for our long weekend getaway with the pooch!
This studio was perfect for our three day weekend. It's very cozy, centrally located to the gondola, easy/secure parking, and walking distance to some great places for food and beverages.
The studio is so cozy - I absolutely loved the adjustable lighting, fireplace, and general décor. There is a photo montage of some very photogenic pooches, which is pretty cute. The bed is so, so comfortable, something that is usually a problem for me, and the kitchen is the perfect size for any lite cooking. The bathroom, also, is perfectly nice, with a good shower. Even though we always bring blankets for our little 14 lbs pom-chi, Jeff provides a very soft doggie blanket for the furniture, which our Stella cuddled up to immediately. Speaking of pets, the Monache is very pet friendly - the outdoor doggie area is an easy elevator ride down to the designated spot with baggies, benches, and a decent view. We got some great photos of the full moon during Stella's pre-bed constitutional. I would definitely stay here again - highly recommend.
Our condominium was clean, nice furniture and pictures. It was very clean. Allowed pets. Included a nice blanket for our small dogs to lie on. The only downside is you cannot use basic service in hotel: room service, bellman and house keeping.
My wife, Zoey (our little dog) and I enjoyed the condo. Jeff goes out of his way to make his place perfect.
