We stayed the whole month of August in Melody and Jeff's beautiful "Cozy Cottage". We immediately were touched by our warm greeting and felt right at home. This was the perfect place for us to explore Ashland. Being a few minutes walk to the town center and Lithia Park felt like wonderful bonus. We will miss being greeted every morning by deer and wild turkeys strolling the neighborhood and enjoying the ripe, delicious blackberries, tomatoes and apples that we were free to pick from their garden! We already miss the town and are hoping to move there. But more importantly we will miss Melody and Jeff's beautiful hospitality and spotless "Cozy Cottage".
We were delighted with our stay in Melody and Jeff's tree-shaded cottage. It is not spacious, but well laid out and most comfortable. We had light and views from all sides and had access to the beautiful, spacious gardens filled with flowers and vegetables (which our hosts shared with us). We relaxed on lawn chairs set under a spreading River Birch. The cottage is a 5-minute walk from downtown, the Shakespeare Festival and Lithia Park. Our hosts were charming, accessible and helpful. We'll be back.
We lived our month in Ashland. The apartment was cute and clean. Melody and Jeff are thoughtful hosts. This was a perfect location to walk downtown to the many coffee shops, restaurants, and shops Ashland has to offer. It’s and easy couple of blocks to fantastic Lithia Park and The Shakespeare theatres.
Great property, excellent location and wonderful hosts.

This is the perfect stay for a couple who wants to have a month long experience of Ashland.
The property is beautifully maintained by Melody and Jeff and they make you feel part of the community with their conversations and suggestions. The cottage is perfect to move in for the month. This is our second stay and this time we didn’t bring anything extra for cooking or such - it was all there - nice and cozy.

Wonderful hosts - cozy, temporary home
Stayed two months for our second stay here at the Cozy Cottage. The location is great, an easy walk to town and everything it has to offer. Our now friends, the owners, live next door and couldn't be nicer. They really want their guests to be comfortable and happy and will bend over backwards to make sure they are.
We already have plans to come back next year.

Everything works out on Pine St!
We were so fortunate to find this last-minute rental and couldn’t have been happier during our month-long stay with Jeff, Melody and Monkey (the cat)! From the start, we were welcomed with friendliness and hospitality which extended to wonderful conversations, shared produce from the gardens, and we were even treated to a band rehearsal session by Jeff and their son, Julian. In it all, Melody and Jeff were extremely respectful of our privacy and desire for a quiet, relaxed stay. They provided a lovely hammock, outdoor seating and beautiful grounds to explore as well.
The cottage itself is comfortable for two and fully equipped with anything you might need for a stay here. Melody also made sure to keep us stocked with toilet paper, fresh towels and linens, including a comforter for every weather condition we could possibly experience during the month of September! The fresh flowers from their garden that graced our little home was another beautiful touch.
The location is incredibly quiet and scenic, yet a quick 5 minute walk to downtown and Lithia Park. We walked everywhere, explored some nearby hiking trails and kept our car safely parked in the driveway for most of our stay. Overall, we highly recommend the Pine St. cottage!

My very favorite place to stay in Ashland
The Pine Street Cottage is in walking distance of the heart of Ashland--including the festival, Lithia Park, downtown shops and restaurants, and the best food coop in Oregon. The cottage is situated above a quiet office in the historic district on a large lot that features morning sunlight in the living room, gardens, shade trees, and good views of local wildlife--especially the birds that frequent the greener parts of town. The kitchenette is fully equipped and the living area and bedroom are furnished with every convenience. Unlike many vacation rentals in the area, this one features a full bath with tub. It is compact and therefore perfect for one or for two who thrive on intimacy. Ashland insiders Melody and Jeff are excellent, experienced hosts who respond quickly on the rare occasions when repairs are needed and are gracious, considerate, and fun to be around. The neighbors are quiet and considerate and the back yard is a wonderful place to sit and read or to dine al fresco. In short, an ideal vacation rental in a great location in a beautiful part of Oregon.

Highly Recommend!!!
My husband and I had a great stay in this cozy cottage. We loved the location - an easy walk to town and theatres.
The lovely owners, Melody and Jeff, live right next door, and immediately made us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. They provided many nice touches, such as fresh flowers and home grown produce. They bent over backwards to provide anything we might need.
We are already planning a return stay next year. This is our new Ashland home!

Loved my stay!
I felt so at home in Melody and Jeff's Pine Street Cottage. It was bright and cozy, equipped with everything I needed to settle in for 6 weeks. Melody made sure I was comfortable with flannel sheets, lots of towels, all the kitchen accessories I required (and I love to cook!). They both were so welcoming, warm and helpful. The location is amazing—a quiet street, yet an incredibly short and pleasant walk to downtown and Lithia park. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Home Birth at Pine Street Cottage
Big thank you to the owners who let us have a home birth in the cottage. Since we live 2 hours from a hospital, it was very important to find a suitable rental. It was perfect!

A wonderful Vacation Rental
A bit late in writing this review on behalf of my mother. She was visiting and chose to stay with Melody and Jeff for her entire stay. She could not have picked a more ideal vacation rental. The apartment was perfect, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Location a plus, within walking distance to the Plaza and Theater. Melody and Jeff went out of their way to not only welcome her warmly but made sure she did not want for anything. A wonderful stay - thank you on behalf of my mother and myself.

Home is where the heart is
Home is where heart is and this cottage and its owners sure have a lot of heart! I was fortunate to stay here for a month in the summer of 2013 and enjoy the cool breezes, organic garden and warm hospitality of the hosts. Not really on vacation and with a month of work to do, I was able to hunker in and focus with no distractions and to imbibe the lovely surroundings. The location is perfect, you can walk to everything. They say 'God is in the details' and so many little details are so well placed here - from the fresh cut flowers on the table to the olive oil in the pantry and shady hammock in the garden, there is thoughtfulness and caring radiating throughout. The cottage is cozy, comfortable and homey. The best of both worlds, it combines a lovely healing retreat.with easy access to all that downtown Ashland has to offer. The hosts give a guest as much space as they need, yet are warm, friendly and kind. It is a special bonus to get to know them. No wonder they say Pine Street is the best block in Ashland!

HOSPITALITY PLUS !
We were fortunate to have stayed at this lovely cottage in June 2012 and we would like to thank Melody, Jeff and Julian for their hospitality. Their place has a beautiful, large garden with 3 seating areas, a BBQ area, a vegetable garden and a hammock - all of which were offered for our use. We were in town for a family wedding, and were encouraged to invite people over to enjoy their amenities. Over the course of the month we were there, we were able to invite our relatives and friends over - and ended up having some wonderful evenings with them. The cottage is within walking distance to Lythia Park, the Shakespearian Theatre, the Cinema and several restaurants and shops. You won't be able to find a better place to stay in Ashland. We are looking forward to going back next year.

Relaxing, comfortable and convenient
My husband and I stayed 3 nights in this wonderful little cottage and it felt like a week long vacation! The accommodations are extremely comfortable and well appointed - good bed, good amenities, appliances, etc. The best part is the gorgeous garden, of which renters have full use, including sharing in the bounty of the vegetable garden. There is a hammock strung between two shade trees, and had we not had 5 plays to attend, I would have spent the whole time in the hammock, snoozing and reading. The owners of the property could not have been nicer or more welcoming, without being intrusive. And, of course, the location is perfect. Less than a 5 minute walk to the theaters, downtown, Lithia Park. We will definitely stay here again.

Our Best Stay in Ashland!
Melody and Jeff made us feel like we were at a home away from home. The two weeks we stayed were not long enough to enjoy the comforts of their charming guest cottage. Walking in their beautiful gardens and relaxing in the hammock made our stay the perfect summer vacation. OSF and all that downtown Ashland has to offer is only a five minute walk away; most days we didn't even use our car. The cottage is perfect for a few nights (although you will want to stay longer) or months. Total comfort and charm, with the sweetest cat in Ashland to play with :) We will be back next year!

Charming cottage and great company!
My daughter and I stayed at the Pine Street Cottage in June, 2011. We had a wonderful time! Melody and Jeff were so inviting and helpful. They have the most beautiful gardens and we both learned a lot about gardening too. The hammock was WELL used!
I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to "get away from it all" while being close to town.

A Big Mahalo to Melody and Jeff
We were so lucky to find such a wonderful place to stay while visiting Ashland. The cottage is lovely and private and overlooks a beautiful garden. The location is great and is walking distance to downtown Ashland where shops, lithia park, shakespeare festival and quaint restaurants are found. Both Melody and Jeff were so helpful in letting us know the fun and interesting places to eat and venture. We had such a terrific stay! Thank you Melody and Jeff for being such gracious hosts. We will see you soon!

Abundant thanks!
Hello, Melody and Jeff -
We wanted to thank you for the wonderful hospitality in your cozy little apartment which we so enjoyed. It was perfect for our needs, and we especially appreciated the proximity not only to downtown Ashland but also to the terrific walk up Granite and on around the reservoir. Great way to start each day.
Thanks, too, for the scrumptious biscotti which we devoured. I've never made it in my life so was amazed to learn from Jeff that you make them from scratch, Melody. Wow! What culinary talent.
We look forward to staying with you in the future. Again, our thanks for your warmth and hospitality.

Pine Street Cottage is our home away from home when we visit Ashland. We used to stay in hotels every year during our annual trip until we were lucky enough to stay here and enjoy the warm hospitality Melody and Jeff provide. The full kitchen more than meets our needs and the location is ideal; we are able to walk to all our plays. The cottage offers a beautiful view of the garden and the neighborhood is lovely. We can't wait until our next trip!

What a perfect place to stay when you're in Ashland. You'll be in a perfect location, five minutes from the theaters, and you'll come home to a quiet, cozy, and comfortable place. Melody and Jeff, our hosts, were the absolute best! We WILL return.
About the host
Hosted by Melody and Jeff Jones
We've lived in Ashland for over 45 years, raised our son here and have some lovely friends, SO many who lived in the cottage and moved into Ashland!
Why they chose this property
Pine Street is two blocks from town and Lithia Park, it's quiet, yet near everything!! We have lovely gardens, many places to sit outside, all the privacy you need.
What makes this property unique
Close to everything, but still quiet. This is the BEST neighborhood, near town and restaurants, walk home safely at night and feel like you're far from town.
