I cannot say enough good things about Jon! They were wonderful guests who treated my VRBO with the utmost care and respect. Communication was prompt and courteous, and they left the place in great shape! I would highly recommend Jon to any other host out there. Thank you for being such a fantastic guest!
We stayed over Christmas and had the best time! The cabin was in a great location, easy to find and had everything we needed! There was plenty of space for Santa to visit and it was even decorated and had a Christmas tree. If you are looking for a place for your family to make memories. This is the place!!
The cabin is spacious and cozy, the downstairs living room area could benefit from a Murphy bed and have more people stay. We had a great time! Thanks Sr. Michael.
We had a great stay. The house accommodated all 10 of us comfortably. The host was great and was very easy to communicate with. We plan to make this an annual trip for our family
Communication and warmth from property management was stellar, property itself was adequate, some things with cleanliness/smell noticed but we were still able to enjoy our stay. Had some cool features, not luxurious but adequate.
Property worked out well, especially nice that the 4 older children had 2 bedrooms and living area downstairs to hang out in and watch movies. The upstairs living area was large enough to seat everyone also. Ample seating for meals for everyone. Since we drove in after dark and roads were a little icy, we were glad to have been told to rent 4-wheel drive vehicles. Only thing missing was a fire place, but house was nice and warm. Worked out well for 5 adults and 5 children.
We decided a stay in the mountains was just what we needed to get away from the stress of the past pandemic year. Aspen Cove Cabin in Cloudcroft was the perfect peaceful retreat. The cabin is outfitted perfectly for a family stay. We had everything we needed and plenty of space. The open and well stocked kitchen was wonderful and allowed us to visit while enjoying cooking. We explored the magical trails and adorable town and made memories we will cherish! We will definitely be back. We cannot say enough good things about our stay. Mike was wonderful and our stay was super easy and laid back. Just what we needed!!
great common room with kitchen, some adjustments needed
I visited this property with my two young kids. Check in process was a little confusing, but host was quick to respond. Cleanliness was not up to normal standards, and heating controls took some adjusting. Although the main feature to us was the kitchen in the large common space, the kitchen was not stocked well with quality cooking pots and pans. Outside of the host's control, unfortunately the trip ended with a confrontation with the neighbors who seemed overly invested who visits the property. We are not usually difficult to please, and we made the best of it. The feedback I provided the host was well received.
Close to five stars. A little confusing on how to check in and out; However, the owner is very responsive. Also, we didn’t bring shampoo and body wash because we thought there would be some but that was not the case. Location is not bad but the roads are steep and gravel so we found that there was a very specific route that had to be taken. Lastly, there’s not much in the way of quality or good selection of groceries close by. Aside from theses very minor things, the cabin was well stocked and had plenty of rooms and space. We drove to White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns. We tried a Cloudcroft trail but it was not thawed out yet so we didn’t get to complete it. We didn’t want to leave Cloudcroft or New Mexico.

Thanks for the feedback Shelly. We choose not to put those items we don't provide daily cleaning as a hotel typically would. If we provide bathroom soap items it would have to leave a large bottle which can't be thrown away after every guests stay. For our guest safety
Stayed here for thanksgiving and it was great. We were worried about being snowed in and the host and owner were so available and incredibly helpful! I will definitely be staying here again.
Beautiful large home with room for lots of family. We had just a small group so we were all able to have our own bed. No words can truly express the beauty of this location. Even with all the activities going on in town, location was quiet and we got to enjoy the elk bugling. We had a small group of wild horses in the area to enjoy. Thank you for such a blessed experience with family!!
Cloudcroft Family Event Delightful accommodations!
The hosts of this property have worked hard to anticipate every need of their guests. There were more than ample supplies of everything needed or desired during our stay.
The ONLY problem we had was the quality of the city owned roads: low ground clearance due to somewhat steep, unimproved gravel and dirt roads with ruts--go slow!, low branches make tall vehicles problematic. Don't use Woodlands approach advised by Google if you have a tall vehicle.
But do not let these problems the host cannot address keep you from enjoying this wonderful home. We were so happy with the home that we will seek it out the next time we are in need in Cloudcroft.
We had a great time staying here. The cabin was great and exactly as it was explained in the listing. Check in was smooth and Michael was very quick to respond when we had questions. Would definitely stay here again!
Cabin was perfect for our large family! Our family of 5, plus our parents stayed comfortably. Plenty of bedrooms and beds, large open-concept living room/kitchen with plenty of seating made it nice for gathering. The kitchen/deck/grill had everything needed to make meals. Located in a quiet setting with privacy. Went for daily walks around the area, including to the golf course, down to town, and around the Inn. We saw elk and deer on every walk (mornings and evenings). We even saw some wild horses on the golf course! Temps were perfect in June - it was about 20 degrees cooler than Alamogordo each day. Definitely follow the map homeowner provides, as Google takes you up a steep dirt hill. Communication was great! Lots of down to earth kind people in the town/area. We felt very safe and relaxed. Perfect cabin! We hope to return soon!
We had a great time in cloudcroft. The location was central to the various trails and parks. We went snow tubing in the national park. We took a trip to White Sands as well, which was only 40 minutes away. It was plenty of room for 5 adults and 5 kids. We will definitely stay there again.

We are so glad you had a wonderful time at Aspen Cove. Hope all of your memories of the wedding and the fun times will bring you back to Cloudcroft soon. Many blessings to the new happy couple.
There was plenty of room for us and our kids. The only thing I would say is a fireplace would've been amazing! The location was perfect, close enough to town that we walked in a few times but still felt secluded.

Thanks so much for the kind review Amanda! We also enjoyed hosting you and your family and hope to see y’all again. I know what you mean about the fireplace. We fully intend to install a fireplace in the near future. We are also planning to develop the side yard with outdoor grill and fire pit. We hope to get that project started this summer if at all possible. Hopefully next time we see you it will be completed. Thanks again and safe travels!
Welcomes you the instant you get there also little extras you do not expect, coffee sugar toothpicks I know it’s might not sound so wow but when you are there you see things that you are not expecting and you thank them for those tiny things I recommend it a lot
I have nothing negative to say about this cabin or the host. Their cleaning person had quit on them before we arrived and the host was diligent about still doing everything they could to make it perfect for us, even when they were in a pinch, and they did!

Whether it's hitting the slopes for some skiing, going for a hike, or even diving into the depths on a SCUBA adventure, we love to have fun and make memories with the ones we love. When we're not out and about, we enjoy kicking back and working on our woodworking projects or just spending quality time with the family.
Why they chose this property
The story of how the hosts of Aspen Cove came about purchasing this lovely mountain cabin is a tale worth telling.
It begins in 2012, when Michael and Debra were celebrating their anniversary. That year it was Michael's turn to plan the shenanigans. He decided to surprise Debra by taking her to the friendly little town of Cloudcroft, New Mexico. The accommodations were made and it was time for their adventure to begin.
Upon arriving in Cloudcroft, they soon realized the directions to the inn were indecipherable. Calling the booking agency customer service was a lost cause. Not such a great start. As they drove around trying to find the inn, frustration began to feel palpable. Just when they were about to give up, they stumbled upon the charming Rebecca's Lodge, today known as The Lodge. After sharing the unfortunate circumstances with the receptionist (who was very empathetic) they were finally able to relax and settle in.
Cloudcroft turned out to be an incredible little town to explore. Even though the start of the trip began a little bumpy, the fresh air, the beautiful scenery, and the laid-back atmosphere in all the unique shops, made for the perfect anniversary getaway after all. Not only did they discover the beauty of Cloudcroft and its surroundings, they also realized they had found new depths of their love for one another.
Though they didn’t know exactly what it would look like, it was in that moment of realization, it became clear they would be purchasing this little slice of heaven we endearingly call, Aspen Cove.
Today, Michael and Debra would like to invite you to come and experience the same magic they found on that trip. Whether you're looking for adventure, romance or simply a peaceful family getaway, or all of the above, Aspen Cove is the perfect place to make memories you'll treasure forever.
