Quietly nestled amongst a 40 acres, this property is conveniently located just 3/4 of a mile from I-95 and 25 minutes from Jacksonville, Florida. This home features a master suite with a king bed, a guest bedroom with two twin beds, with an open kitchen and living room with large 16 foot sliding glass doors, enjoy beautiful views of Crooked River. Savor your morning coffee on the outdoor deck overlooking the river, while relaxing to the sounds of birds chirping and dolphins swimming up stream. There are large, mature oaks with Spanish moss. Weekend Getaway

Everything about the cottage and property were perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was so clean. The property was beautiful and relaxing. We fished off the dock most of the time and were able to catch several crabs, as well as several fish. We will definitely be back.

Perfect quick stay!

We had a great stay! Property was as described. I appreciated the cleanliness of the cottage. We’ll be back. We enjoyed the view from the dock, as well as relaxing by the fire pit.

Great stay

We enjoyed our time at Wheeler Cottage. The property was clean and nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. The outdoor space of the property was fantastic, including a wrap-around porch, a fire pit, a swing, and a dock on the river. Definitely recommend!

2nd Stay - Still perfect

Second time at this property and everything was wonderful again! Very nice house and it sits on a beautiful piece of property on the water. Brought grandsons with us this time and they had fun fishing and running around the huge yard. Can't wait to come back again!

Outstandig Cottage

A cozy cottage nestled in a beautiful area with a breathtaking view. It was everything we thought it would be plus more. The vicinity to stores and was perfect and just far enough away to feel like you escaped civilization. The grounds were well maintained and afforded us to do an many activities as we could think of. Definitely will be making a return visit.

River Cottage

Exceeded our expectations. What a great relaxing vacation we had staying at the river cottage. The cottage and grounds are in pristine condition. We had a fire at the fire pit and cooked hotdogs and s’mores. We sat down at the covered dock and watched the fish and even a stingray swim around. We will definitely vacation here again!!

Perfect location

Wonderful spot on the St. Mary's. So peaceful and relaxing. The next time though...we will stay longer! Two days was just not enough, but all we had time for this trip. Plenty of room in the house, great outdoor space, and gorgeous views. We had an amazing moonrise on night two that we captured in stunning photos. Easy access to grocery stores, area ramps to put the boat in to explore the river, Quick on/off I-95 - the location couldn't have been better.

If I had to come up with a negative it would be not knowing how to turn on the lights underneath the house. It wasn’t really an issue but could have used them a time or two.

Mini Vacation

Overall great location. Cottage was as advertised. Very clean, area was quiet, relaxing with great views. Fishing within walking biking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed the amenities. The swing , fire pit and fishing off the dock. We also brought our bikes to ride and enjoyed doing that as well. % stars all around with one small recommendation. There were no garbage bags for the large garbage can in the kitchen. Having at least one to start with would be helpful and appreciated. I /we would definitely come back for another stay.

Beautiful Riverfront Cottage

Peaceful retreat included a large beautiful dock. Upper level is completely shaded, 4 oscillating fans, lights, new comfortable chairs for reading and relaxation. The wonderful breeze was absolutely free! Lower level dock is for fun in the sun along with fishing, and kayaking. The cottage is just a short walk from the dock. You’ll be walking by a swing under a canopy of trees, and a fire pit equipped with multiple seating arrangements and lights for nighttime. The cottage is on stilts so cars are shaded, as well as a very nice large grill, and corn hold game which my family enjoyed playing. The cottage is top of the line. Well equipped, beautifully and recently decorated. Full kitchen, nice big refrigerator with ice, large stove, microwave and dishwasher. Stackable washer dryer unit next to kitchen. Master King size bed, TV in each bedroom and living room. Second bedroom has 2 twin beds, which my senior friends said that they slept well, even though they were small. They said the Mattresses were a dream. Master bath with double vanity, plenty of drawer space and 4 luggage holders. USB and electrical outlets everywhere. The full size sofa and two recliners are totally electric and just beautiful. They spared no expense in decorating this cute 1,000 sq foot cottage. Very good WiFi inside the cottage, and Prime Video was installed on the TV. I contacted the host a couple of times, and he was quick and eager to help. Location was best for shopping and eating.

This was a perfect property if you love to fish. We caught redfish, trout, silver perch, crabs and shrimp. The outdoor firepit was nice, but weather didn't allow us to fully enjoy it. Despite the weather, we had a great time fishing on the covered dock.

Modern cabin with a gorgeous view of the River and marsh, this property is perfect for a relaxing getaway or, if you have a small boat, for crabbing for blue crabs.
