Reunion with friends

Our high school friends were having a reunion and we wanted something close and easy to stay in. It was perfect. We walked to dinner but drove most of the time. Loved being so close to the Plaza and downtown

Great short stay!

We had a great stay here with our dogs. It was clean and well stocked. The directions to get to the house were easy to follow as we're all of the entry instructions and house procedures. Our stay was great and Janet is very responsive as a host. Thank you! We'll be back!

Perfect Stay

This is the place to stay in Santa Fe! The property is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown, the Railyard District, and even a box store shopping area. The kitchen is well stocked, the bed is very comfortable, and the fully fenced in yard is perfect for dogs! Easy to park as well. On top of all this, Janet is a wonderful, thoughtful host! Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Santa Fe!

This Adobe Apartment was just the ticket.

Beautiful, cozy apartment in a historic neighborhood. Dog-friendly, everything was thought of to make our stay comfortable. I loved the quiet neighborhood and the spring flowers out front. Charming old school Santa Fe architecture. Close to the Plaza, but far enough away to avoid the crowds. We will definitely book again for our next trip to New Mexico.

disappointed in false communication

Property was great. Only complaint is that owner told us we could check out at noon so we left for breakfast not wanting to leave all of our stuff in our car in the NM sun- we left it in the apartment. When we returned cleaning was well underway. It was disappointing to be told one thing and have that not be the case.

We'll located, equipped and cozy but not very clean.

The property was nice, cozy and well located. But, we found it not very clean. The bedding was cigarette smelling. We had to wash the blankets and the dryer didn't work. The kitchen was not very clean as well and the little patio on the back was stinky. But, the kitchen was well equipped and there were complementary snacks and water bottles. Thanks.

Lovely Apartment near Downtown

My pups and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely adobe only 10 minute walk from the edge of the SF Plaza. Nice setting in old SF neighborhood. Everything we needed plus enjoyed the long term renter in the other apartment. Unable to give 5 stars due to a couple of situations which I discussed with Janet the owner. First was strong smell of floor cleaner upon arrival, recommended using a 'green product' instead. Second, the problem with the worn out mattress continues for over a year (per previous reviews) Hopefully it will finally be replaced so that one can get a good nights sleep. Just too nice of a place to not address and resolve. It's a good bargain for the price and happy we were able to stay while we waited to get into our new home in the city.

Two-week Santa Fe rental review

Our Santa Fe rental experience was very satisfactory. The property is in a great location with private parking. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The space included one rather large room with a queen-sized bed, convertible couch/bed, coffee table, two easy chairs, night stands beside the bed, lamps, wifi, TV, etc. There was also a seperate full kitchen with small table and two chairs and a bathroom with a good shower in the tub. Would this be called a one bedroom or a studio? I don't know. We saw no cat. The dogs mentioned by owner were no problem, although, they barked whenever we came or went. A neighbor's dog barked frequently and loudly in the middle of the night for 15 to 30 minutes. The owner was informed and is attempting to remedy this.

Not safe poor locks and didn’t feel secure

Janet, When we went to bed last night we put the chain across the door. About 9:00 pm last night we heard someone enter a code on the door and the door opened and the chain was jerked all the way out. When we woke up we noticed the chain hanging and we found a round piece to the chain outside on the mat. We picked this piece up and laid it on the tv console. You will need to repair this and your door lock is still not working properly. As you know we called to notify you of this problem about the front door lock on the night we arrived and you came over about 30 minutes after our call. That caused a lengthy disruption and completely interfered with our dinner meeting. The door lock started to work but it is an intermittent on going issue. When we left today we made sure door was closed all the way but the door did not lock. You will need to change this lock also. We had problems with this lock not locking several times during our stay. We heard a loud sound on the front porch Friday night at 1:00 AM and it sounded like someone hit the outer wall on the porch. The police were called and they checked on the exterior of the vrbo.I also called you to notify about the issue. The failure of the front door to lock and that you gave someone the front door code ant they opened the door on us at about 9 pm last night is totally unacceptable and made us feel unsafe in your property None of this should have occurred and it truly ruined our vacation No guest should feel unsafe

I am a long-time real estate broker in Santa Fe (30+ years). I have a 501 (c) (3) animal rescue organization that I manage and pay for by myself. I personally tend to this unit and try to make sure of a wonderful stay and customer satisfaction. I have mostly great reviews on this and other sites.

Why they chose this property

This house is special because of the location off West San Francisco Street and the fact that it is an historic double adobe built in 1908.. Its convenience and privacy can't be beat. It is like a sanctuary. It is not visible from the main street, and neighbors face in other directions. The beauty and history of the building is impressive. It is completely remodeled, and I update it regularly. Since the 90s it has had 4.5 to 5 star reviews.

What makes this property unique

Many people enjoy this because they don't need a vehicle to go many places downtown and it has the ambience of a traditional neighborhood. Some have not had vehicles. There is one tenant on the other side with whom you share the front and back porches and back yard who also has pets. You can walk to the mall and its two grocery stores, and walk all over downtown. I have not had any crime experience in this neighborhood in over 25 years, but caution is always advisable.
