About this property
Deer Path - Fall Colors/Mountain Views, Private Creek, Gas Logs, Fire Pit
The new owners of Deer Path fell in love with this home over the years as guests. They freshly remodeled the home over the winter and are happy to share it with future guests.
Deer Path is a lovely modern country home that sits on five acres. It offers you an open floor plan, lots of sunshine streams through an abundance of windows, a large private rear deck that has twenty-mile views every season, a cook's kitchen with gas, and your own private creek. A wrap-around covered front porch can be enjoyed year-round.
It's close to numerous waterfalls, hiking trails, mountain biking, shopping, and delicious restaurants in Brevard, Hendersonville, or a short drive to Asheville. This lovely luxury country home is located in a residential neighborhood at an elevation of over 3,000 feet on the top of Black Knob Mountain in the heart of Pisgah Forest.
Relax on the large rear deck that overlooks the ancient and historic mountains of Western North Carolina. Enjoy a gentle rain on the wraparound-covered front porch or sip your favorite beverage on the screened-in porch off the primary suite.
The home is very private and is situated on five lush acres in a quiet mountain subdivision with all paved roads (no four-wheel drive needed). The one-plus acre backyard is level soft grass and great for strolling or kids to play. Make s’mores at the backyard fire pit and catch fireflies in the cool summer evenings.
There is a private creek running through the property that is fun to explore and enjoy nature.
The inside of the home is laid out perfectly. It has a lovely open floor plan but at the same time gives you and your guests the privacy you desire.
Deer Path is a perfect place to work and play. Wi-Fi is around 135 upload/fiber optic which works very well for Zoom meetings for work or while visiting with family or friends.
Enjoy the cool mountain breezes that flow through the house as the home was designed and built to take advantage of the cool mountain summer air.
It is a beautiful peaceful place to rest and relax with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We are happy to share this mountain home with you!
Please also note that this property is managed by a seasoned local vacation rental team with 20+ years of five-star reviews and experience. We provide support and plenty of information before your arrival. We are available during your stay to help out if needed because you are not just booking a home to stay in but a southern mountain hospitality experience.

About the host
Hosted by Darlene Witham or Ron Mashburn

We vacationed at this beautiful home several years before purchasing it in November 2023. The proximity to all the outdoor adventures we love is what brought us here over and over again. It became our favorite vacation spot! Now that it is our home, we want to share it with others who have similar interests in the outdoors. Bring your family or friends, toys, your sense of adventure and make some of your best memories, here at Deer Path. David and Lynda Ward, Owners
Why they chose this property
Cycling is our favorite outdoor activity and our home is in the middle of more trails, forests, and roads than you can imagine. Nearby Brevard is called the Land of Waterfalls, so if hiking is on your list, you will literally find hundreds of hiking trails in this area. The Davidson and French Broad rivers are within minutes of the house for extraordinary fly fishing and kayaking.
What makes this property unique
While our home is situated in a serene and tranquil location, it is convenient to Brevard and Hendersonville for shopping and all the attractions these towns have to offer.
