Location Sevierville, Tennessee, United States Top ten Smokies to-dos including historic sites, grand overlooks, wildlife, and waterfalls close to this listing.
1. Climb Clingmans Dome Clingmans Dome at Sunset This 6,643-foot round-top peak sits at the top of the park—and the state of Tennessee. To tag the high point, drive the scenic access road (closed December through March) from Newfound Gap and walk a half-mile to the summit. Don’t miss the view from the spaceship-like observation tower up top. The peak is popular, so go early in the day to beat the crowds. Strong cross-country skiers and snowshoers can also hit the high point in winter for guaranteed solitude.
2. Go Autumn Leaf-Peeping Sunset over the Smoky Mountains in autumn The Smokies are famous for their colorful trees in fall. Drive or hike to the higher elevations for sweeping views over the park’s 100-plus tree species painting the hills in bright oranges, yellows, and reds; target mid-September for higher-elevation colors and mid-October for lower ones.
3. Stop to Smell the Wildflowers The Appalachian Trail runs through rhododendron bushes in bloom on Jane Bald northeast of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Great Smoky Mountains have an explosion of wildflowers in spring and summer. More than 1,500 flowering plants can be found in the region, including delicate spring beauties, several types of trillium, trout lilies, wild geranium, and orchids; visit from mid-April to mid-May for the best blooms. The park’s showy flame azaleas and rhododendrons also burst to life starting in April in the low elevations and into June up high.
4. Paddle Fontana Lake The boat ramp on Lake Fontana A dam on the Little River forms Fontana Lake along the park’s southern border, a long, skinny lake with 240 miles of shoreline that beckon kayakers, canoeists, anglers, and stand-up paddleboarders. Rent a boat in Fontana Village or from the Nantahala Outdoor Center for a day trip, or load up a touring kayak for a multi-day backcountry camping trip linking the remote campsites on the lake’s north shore.
5. Touch Pioneer History The Mountain Farm Museum at Oconaluftee Valley inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Before it became a national park, this landscape was home to many settlers who farmed and milled in its hidden valleys. Today, more than 90 historic buildings remain in the park. In Cades Cove, you’ll find the greatest variety of churches, mills, barns, and cabins dating back to the early 1800s. Head to Oconaluftee to tour the Mountain Farm Museum, a collection of structures from the late 1800s, or visit nearby Mingus Mill. Cataloochee houses a school, church, and frame homes from the late 1800s
6. Go Auto Touring on Historic Park Roads Sunrise at Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Driving the 11-mile one-way loop road through Cades Cove takes you through a lush valley surrounded by mountains. Stop to visit historic buildings, a grist mill, and watch wildlife. For a quieter ride, head to the Roaring Forks motor nature trail with views of rushing streams, old log cabins, another mill, and forested wilderness. Other beautiful drives include the 18-mile Little River Road from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to Townsend, and the Blue Ridge Parkway (outside of the park).
7. Get Sprayed by a Waterfall Abrams Falls maybe... Over 100 prominent cascades and waterfalls can be found inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park plus numerous smaller cascades and falls on the 2,000 miles of streams and rivers. Hike the well-worn trails to view Grotto, Laurel, Abrams, or Rainbow Falls or drive to Meigs Falls, The Sinks, or Place of a Thousand Drips.
8. Walk the Appalachian Trail Appalachian Trail Sign inside Great Smoky Mountains National Park Seventy-one miles of this famous trail bisects Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Most vacationers don't have the time (or willingness) to through-hike the entire run but there are some sections of the trail that can be done in a day. Take the trailhead from Newfound Gap Road 7 miles to Clingmans Dome (the trail parallels Clingmans Dome Road). Have more energy? Hike to Silers Bald 5 miles one-way west from Clingmans Dome.
9. Surrounding Great Smoky Mountains National Park are gateway towns with attractions and souvenirs for the traveler. After a retreat to nature, emerge into town and enjoy aquariums, rides, museums, and Dollywood, an amusement park and resort founded by country singer and actress Dolly Parton. A bit farther down the road you'll enter Asheville. There you can tour the Biltmore Mansion built by George Vanderbilt, and sample wine from their estate winery.
10. Visit the Arts and Crafts 8 mile loop road. Ride the Yellow trolley from Gatlinburg to the 8 mile loop.

Check in was very easy and it was easy to find. Very peaceful location. It is closer and more convenient to gatlinburg than it is Pigeon Forge. Beautiful older home. The owner has everything there at the cabin that you won’t want to leave.
The cabin was perfect and the location was great, amazing views in a secluded spot, yet only a 15 minute drive to town and close to a lot of activities.
Cabin was great with plenty of room. Only complaint was tv's not connecting in other rooms besides master bedroom, lucky we brought PlayStation with us. I would recommend this cabin
This property was perfect for our needs! The setting was absolutely gorgeous and had close access to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The kitchen was well-appointed; we used it as well as the grill to make several meals. The variety of outdoor spaces was great - we used them often! Would absolutely stay here again!
Has to be one of the most private and beautiful locations in the mountain. Watching the full moon rise over the mountains was amazing. Views wonderful.
Beautiful home and location! Very roomy and quiet. Had all of the essentials. Everyone enjoyed the pool table!

Nice but not what we expected.
The cabin was nice, however the pictures make it look bigger than it is. We were looking for access to the creek but found you have to walk a very long way (crossing highway) to get to it. We had a really good time and everything we needed was provided.

Thank you for your review. Although I do not concur with review. This cabin is very big and spacious, with open plans, more than 3,500 sq ft. It has plenty of terraces and balconies for everyone to have a private space if desire. There is a fire pit outside overlooking the mountains that has also plenty of room to sit around.
3 of the 4 bedroom are very spacious. If I change the bed from a king to a queen or a twin, 4th bedroom would be spacious too. The living room and dinner are in an open spacious plan. Dinner table has 10 chairs for guests to sit very comfortably. It also has a kitchen with a counter table that sit 4, maybe even 5 guests.
The basement is also open space plan design and has a pool table , a big game arcade, sofa couch, living room and a big smart tv . Even has a very spacious kitchenette
The bathrooms are big and spacious too.
The house is sitting on 5 acres with plenty of room for boats, cars, trailers to park.
Pictures of house were taken with a cell phone and I have guests told me several times that house look smaller in pictures than it really is.
We also decorated for Xmas, the house looked amazing .
The house has 360 degree amazing views from every room that just gives a sense of being outside even if you are not.
The river, yes, you have to hike down to it.
We want to build a pergola down there by the river so people can sit on it or have lunch next to river, maybe this 2022 would allow the project.
thank you
Location was gorgeous! House on top of hill with mountains and clouds looking out the windows. River can be heard in background. House was clean and spacious, everybody had their own space and still felt cozy inside. I must say I’m not a fan of the cameras all over property, though I know it’s for owners peace of mind but one in front i feel would be appropriate. But even still we will definitely stay again! Owner made the place feel comfortable and keeps it well maintained! Plan to come back soon.

Thank you.
Cameras are only in outside areas.
We have them for security reasons and also to check out wildlife.
The house was as listed. Nice view. There was a small issue with the hot tub filter but it was quickly resolved. We were able to get our camper van up the hill without a problem. The kitchen is small but we were able manage without any difficulty. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of us (4 adults and 2 children and one dog). We were about 20-30 minutes to all the attractions and about 5 min from Smokey Mountain National Park. The only thing we could not figure out was how to get down to the creek. We had a great time. Thank you Alex and Phyllis!
The cabin was very nice, but we found rat or mice dropping in 2 of the kitchen drawers. We could hear something chewing in the walls of the down stairs bed rooms. Some of the beds were really uncomfortable and their was no clothes storage in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Also the TV s need to be updated due to one of them only being able to mirror the upstairs TV. Over all very disappointed in the amenities of the property.

We have Johnson fumigation services every month, inside and out. This is the first time in 2 years that a guests lets us know about a situation like this. I really would have liked for guest to report immediately so cleaning company or fumigation services could have taken care of any issue.
The first comment from guest when he checked in was and I quote him: " we made it to the house. Everything looks great. Have a nice weekend."
We replied "enjoy your stay and let us know if you need anything". But we were not contacted again so we were not aware of any issues until reviewed. We really appreciate when guests let us know of any issue while at the house so we can take care accordingly.
We have 4 smart tv's, 2 connected to cable, pool table, jacuzzi, game machine, corn hole, several table games, fire pit....the cabin has everything to have a great time, you can walk to river and fish, go trailing, it's an awesome place to have fun in or out of the house. You also have the opportunity to see wildlife by the house. I have slept on all beds and I think they are very comfortable. Second king bedroom upstairs has a 3 drawer furniture, will see if I can fit another piece of furniture to hang clothes, Thanks
The place was not very clean basement rooms have no windows so they probably shouldn't be legally called bedroom. Basement floor is bad shape. The bed room nightstand fridges where full of empty beer cans. Showers where dirty. The fridge on main floor had broken selfs. Hole place was dirty. Outside tho was beautiful

The bedrooms in basement are big bedrooms. They are very comfy & there's a lot of light and awesome views in basement too. Living room,/play room, bathroom has several windows.
Believe me, there's nothing wrong with basement floor . Guest was asked if everything was ok when he checked in and he replied that everything was fine. We do not understand his rating.
On June a "deep cleaning/Summer cleaning" was performed. Over 700 payed for the cleaning, just before Derek checked in.
I visited the house the day this guest checked out, everything looked good.
I am really sorry about the cans he is talking about but if he had reported anything to us, we would have certainly send the cleaning company to make it right for him.
I guess he means whole, not "hole"...
Loved the space and accommodations. Huge windows on all sides gave beautiful views. Very clean, and everything we wanted or needed was in the kitchen. It was bigger than the pictures made it seem. Wifi issues were resolved but a bit frustrating. Extra parking was a nice bonus. There were both a regular coffee pot and a Keurig, which was convenient (wish I had known in advance, though, so I am telling you now:). Arcade game was fun, furniture and beds were nice quality, table sat 8 comfortably, you could fit 10 if you squeezed, great for family game night. Flat yard space was nice for pets and outdoor activities like cornhole(provided). Neighbors were far enough away that there was good privacy, you only see part of some rooftops. This cabin is the highest house on the hill. Pretty close to Dollywood and Gatlinburg, but the week after Christmas was super crowded at both. Even restaurants in town were 1 hour wait to be seated. Overall, beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting, I wish it was mine!!

Thank you very much for the review.
Wi-Fi is satellite, so if there's bad weather, signal is not so strong.
It is a bid beautiful 360 views.
I am glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you
The cabin could not have been more perfect! It was exactly as advertised - except maybe even better. The location was perfect and both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge were right around the corner. Alex was a wonderful host and incredibly responsive. Our main goal after this stay is to save up and return :)
The home was large with amazing views, hot tub, awesome vintage video game, pool table. Secluded- Decks out every door of the house. Not far from the Smokies.
We have a family of 7 and this place felt very spacious. The property feels very secluded and has a great view of the mountains from just about every room in the house. The kids had a great time in the game room with the arcade games and pool table.
Three generations from age 22-83 stayed for a long weekend. The layout of the house worked out well. The numerous balconies and porches were great for group and alone time , and had great views. Loved not have other houses close by!
We had a great time on our vacation to Tenn. House had a nice yard for the dogs to run. House was clean. Owner responded quickly to needs and questions. View was amazing. We loved sitting on porch in morning and in the evening. You can hear the river however, there is no access to the river where the house is located. You have to drive down the street to public access. We only went to the river one evening so it was not a big deal. We spent most of our time going out and seeing the sites. Side note.. We did have a bon fire 2 evenings that we were there. We bought wood from the local store at end of road. We got eaten up by something. Came home with lots of bits. Bring bug spray and use it!
This property was secluded like we wanted. There was no way to get to the river. There was not enough towels for bathing and the hot tub for our 8 people. Kitchen was small. Upstairs was not getting any air. AC unit too small for size of cabin. Otherwise, very nice stay.

Thank you
We are happy you enjoyed your stay.
There is a way to get to the river, there is also a place to park if you decide to go by car. We have at least 5 towels upstairs, 6 towels for downstairs and 5 towels for hot tub. If that was not the case, please guests let us know when you arrive so we can call the cleaning company and make it right. Telling us about it after you leave does not give us the opportunity to fix things. I do not think kitchen is small at all, and it has everything you need to cook too and gorgeous views while cooking. Big sink, big stove, big microwave, big fridge, enough counter space to work on preparation for food.
Definitely the hot tub is not for 8 people. It is for 3 so guests can take turns
We do not have an AC unit, the AC is a Central System.
