On the Banks of the White River, Private Boat Ramp, Great for Fishing & Groups
We are one of a kind on this part of the river. My favorite part of our property is the privacy and the river access. Our remote 2.8 acre property sits on over 300 ft of White River bank frontage. King’s Landing on the White River is all yours if you book from this listing. We have vacant lots on both sides of us so kids can play and adults can turn up the music without disturbing others. There are two buildings on the grounds. They can be rented separately in a different Vrbo listing, but are combined in this specific listing. We call one building the "Lodge" (The individual Lodge VRBO #ID is 1617688 .) and the other building is the "Bunkhouse (The individual VRBO ID # for it is 1558580.) Both buildings are hooked up to an on-demand generator year round so if electricity was to be interrupted for any reason your heat, air, and other electrical needs would continue to function as normal.
The "Lodge" has a large master bedroom with a king size bed. Joining the master is a large master with a jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. This master also has an outstanding view of the river, and opens up onto the gorgeous back porch that sprawls across the entire length of the back of the lodge. The porch can seat 10 or more guest easily, and is a great place to gather. There is a second bedroom in the Lodge with a queen bed and one single. The lodge has a guest bathroom with a tub/shower combo. We have two dining tables that will seat 8 or more guests. The living area and kitchen have beautiful views of the river and access to the back porch. The living room has a couch, two swivel chairs, a big screen TV, and two recliners. The kitchen is fully stocked with a refrigerator, oven, & dishwasher. We call this building our “Lodge" because of its stunning hickory floors and breathtaking views of the White River.
The "Bunkhouse" has a nice covered deck that makes it perfect for viewing the river. It has two bedrooms upstairs that will sleep 8 to 10 people depending on their size. Also, upstairs is a fully stocked kitchen, dining area, bathroom with shower/tub, and a living room with two couches and a TV. In the downstairs of the "Bunkhouse is a bedroom with a no stair entrance. It sleeps 4 guests and has a bathroom with a shower included. Also, downstairs is a game room with a pool table, and pocker table, big screen TV, and lots of seating. Two garage doors attach to this game room to allow an open air feeling if the weather permits.
We have a unique grassy landing located right on the river bank. A staircase leads down to the landing from the top. The landing has 2 pavilions, a private boat ramp, swings, and fire pits. If someone in your party doesn't maneuver stairs well, it is possible to drive them to the landing in a 4 wheel drive vehicle or a side-by-side, if you wish to bring one.
Be sure to bring your fishing pole if you can because the White River can't be beat for catching trout. Guest can easily access fishing off the bank or by unloading their own boat at the private boat ramp (4x4 vehicles are recommended). We can provide names of several wonderful fishing guides. Your fishing guide can pick you and your group up and drop you off here. Guides can be hired for full days or half days and some guests pay for a shore lunch as well. This is something we highly recommend because these guides can cook!
When you get back from fishing we enjoy helping you keep the good times rolling. This property is perfect for outdoor cooking and making memories. We have several grill options. Let the fire in the fire pits roll as you watch trout jump and the fog move in. Firewood is on site and is covered under the minimul heating fee charged at checkout. Bring your s'mores because we have fire pits on the top and the bottom level. Your group can enjoy peacefully relaxing with family and friends in the large area outside overlooking the river.
If your schedule allows, make your stay long enough to enjoy some very unique local attractions. Bullshoals Dam along with the lake attractions are within 30 minutes. Your group might want to enjoy a meal from several great restaurants in Bullshoals. The Jim Gastons Visitors Center and the Bullshoals Dam have spectacular views and superb historical exhibits making it a must see local stop. The Bullshoals Lake Boat Dock rents bass boats, house boats, etc. Numerous antique stores can be found within a 50 mile radius. Mountain View has a special down home country charm to it. You will find pickin' & grinnin' on the square, and Blanchard Springs Caverns there. That is about 1.5 hours away. You might also enjoy floating the Buffalo National River or hiking at the Point where there are numerous well marked trails. The world famous Branson, MO is also within 1.5 hours. Branson offers its famous Silver Dollar City amusement park, go-karts, mini-golf, shows, and lots of shopping.
Our location is remote, if you like easy access to grocery stores or restuarants we might not be the best choice for you. We are about a 20 minute drive to town. However, we believe we are worth the drive and the peace you find here can't be found even in a small town. We have room for your group to spread out, throw a soft ball, freesbie, or horse shoe. We have WIFI through Starlink. We do offer ROKU streaming and provide HULU, Disney+, ESPN, Paramount+, and a few more. As owners, we believe the highlight of your trip will be slowing down and enjoying our beautiful property with family and friends.
Some of our guests have enjoyed having meals catered. We will be glad to share local favorites if needed. We have even had guests rent bounce houses and can provide that name if needed. We have a big back yard and front yard so bring your games. We do provide some on site outdoor games like corn hole, horse shoes, etc.
We allow events and parties but these must be approved ahead of time. This can be done through emails before you book. We will need to know number of guests and how many nights you want to stay. Then we can send you a quote. We love hosting micro weddings and reunions. We have sheds on the property full of rental items like vintage dishes and glassware, props, log benches, and additional tables and chairs for your destination wedding or special anniversary party. We will gladly answer questions concerning any of these options available. We would love to get to host your group.

We absolutely enjoyed our visit to King’s Landing. Our host were more than accommodating and made this trip truly outstanding. The residence itself is great and the fishing is obviously world class. 10 out of 10 experience
Our group was 12 guys, all college buddies on our 25th annual college buddies get together. This was best place we have stayed at. We always choose a lake or river front location. We liked it so much here we plan on reserving it again next year and likely following years too!
Can’t wait to go back next year!
Had 5 days of total relaxation on that great back porch overlooking the river. The fishing is great from the boat ramp, the property is large and has plenty of seating areas. Great for grilling out and having a family reunion. Highly recommended!

I couldnt have asked for a better host! Cooperation, communication, she was absolutely the best! The property was great, and perfect for our mens retreat! We will definitely consider coming back again!
Shannon was an incredible host, and King's Landing was absolutely stunning! My entire family gathered here for a Thanksgiving trip, and it was unforgettable. The highlight of our stay was definitely the fishing—my dad caught a brown trout, and his excitement was priceless. I think he was on the verge of happy tears! 😊 A perfect setting for family memories.
From searching to departing this property has been a charm. We spent our 30th wedding anniversary here with our immediate family. We couldn’t have spent that time any better anywhere else. This property is everything they advertise it to be, spacious and accommodating.
The tranquil flow of the White River in the early mornings along with the crisp cool air leaves you in nothing but awe!

We truly appreciate you picking us for such an important occasion in your life. This beautiful review made my day. Stay safe and come back and see us someday.
Had a large group stay here. Lots of room. Plenty if games and things for the kids to do. Loved the large pavilion with electrical outlets down by the river. Perfect for grilling for your family and keeping cool with the industrial fan provided. River, though colder, was perfect to cool of in the heat. The kids definitely enjoyed playing in ot and trying to catch some fish. The owner was very quick to communicate and accommodate. Loved it here.
We can’t rave enough about this property and its owners! Kings landing is a spectacular place, lots of spacious room for multiple families or individuals to stay comfortably, beautiful outdoor entertaining spaces, and a river view with a private boat ramp to die for. Each house had everything we needed amenities wise including a wonderful game room that entertained us for hours when we weren’t fishing! Shannon our lovely host was so communicative during our stay! She checked in on us daily to see if we needed anything and went as far as making sure we got home all the way to Georgia. We’re hoping we can make this an annual stay here at Kings Landing! Book this place now!

Ashely, your group were the perfect customers. You didn't need anything and you left it in great condition. We sure hope you can make it back to see us someday in our little piece of paradise in the Ozarks. By the way, our neighbor was totally impressed with how much fishing your group got in. Thank you for this wonderful review. Customers like you help us stay in business and add new improvements each year.
Thank you again,
Buddy and Shannon
We cannot put into words how spectacular our stay was! My now husband, and I decided to have our wedding under the solar eclipse at Kings Landing. From our first contact with Kings Landing to our check out everything was phenomenal. We felt like we were apart of the family and community.
We walked in and everything was clean, stocked, and it had everything that was in the posting. If we needed anything someone would show up a couple minutes later to help. Our weekend was, in every sense of the word, perfect!! We cannot thank Kings Landing and its team enough for their help and hospitality. We cannot wait to come back!!

You and your families were so special! We thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your magical day! The eclipse was amazing and your wedding made it "totally" over the moon! We will see you again soon!!!
We loved our stay at King's Landing. There was plenty of room for our group of 7 adults, 3 children, and a corgi. The property was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The owners and managers were great and quick to respond to any questions we had. We fished off the bank and were thrilled when our grandsons caught their first trout. The river was so cool and clear. You could see right to the bottom. A highlight was the day we took a float trip down the river. One of my favorite memories will be relaxing on the porch with a cup of coffee in the early morning hours listening to the water and birds. We will never forget our stay at King's Landing.

We loved this property set up. We had 16 people from great grandma to the youngest of 3. Great space for everyone and the fishing was good as well. We had the main house for the older adults and the younger ones were in the bunk house. The back porches over looking the river were great for game playing and visiting. They did a great job on having anything we could need, kitchen, fire pit, BBQ, towels and linens. The covered pavilions with lights and power were a nice addition. We enjoyed a couple of fires with smores, great job on fire pits. We went out to some of the local communities to enjoy hiking, mining gems, fishing, tubing, dinner, and checking out many resale stores. Walmart was close for the things we forgot so that was great. The host team was great and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. This was so relaxing and fun, we highly recommend this location for your get togethers, family, friends or business.
This is the place if you want to reconnect with the beauty of a natural world and forget the chaos of the real world. A perfect family spot when you do not want the crowds of the resorts.
It is well maintained and has everything you will
need for a short or a longer stay. Mary Ann and Shannon are so easy to work with. They were quick to answer any questions!
Lots of acreage for kids to run and play … we played
Football, baseball, horse shoes, baggos, fished with guides and caught fish right from this property that is steps from the river. There is a fun game room, also. The pavilion was great for lunch and there was a fire pit that we enjoyed late night.
Memories were made this weekend!
We will be back!
Beds were super comfy but would love a king bed in the bunk house!! 😃 BUT no complaints!! Perfect spot!
This property was perfect for our family reunion. We had a total of 25 and we had no issues at all fitting. There was plenty of fridge space to accommodate all the food and beverages needed for 3 days. There are a ton of activities already on site to keep everyone of all ages busy.
Only thing I would suggest is if you have small children bring baby gates, there are quit a few steps and would give you piece of mind.
This was an excellent destination for our yearly extended family vacation (20 people). The plethora of outdoor seating invited us to enjoy coffee by the soothing sounds of the river every morning and cocktails every evening when the river reflects golden beauty. The large outdoor fans allowed us to share meals outside on the huge porch even when the temperature was its highest. A quick dip in the icy-cold river cooled us for hours of lazing in hammocks reading. Internet was slow for the demands of 20 people (many teens) but that was fine for what we wanted out of the experience. The property profile had us thinking there were more bed spaces but we managed (two single beds on the front porch allowed those who were willing, to get the camping effect). We had a lovely time and the property managers and owners were friendly and responsive.
This place was more beautiful than the pictures shown. It had everything from Kitchen supplies to outdoor cooking to games and fun. We will definitely be back. This place was awesome. The Owner was super nice and sweet. Thank you all for an amazing place and thank you for letting us stay.

About the host
Hosted by Shannon King
Hello, I am a retired elementary school teacher. I help my husband manage our small farm and equipment dealership. I grew up in this rural area, and my ancestors lived and farmed along the banks of the river. I currently leave on our farm in a small town near by. I have a wonderful husband that helps me maintain the property, and will even take me fishing sometimes when he isn't farming. I have two grown children, a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and a grandson. I am extremely proud of all five of them. They also love Kings Landing and enjoy fishing as well. It must run in our blood because my grandparents on my dad’s side farmed along where Crooked Creek runs into the White River.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because of the large grassy flat area that sits between the river and the buildings. We fell in love with it instantly, and admired it for years before we took the plunge and made it our own. The large lot, the two seperate buildings, the large porches, the road leading down to the river, and the boat ramp helped us easily decide that this was the best option for us. Since I grew up in this small rural area it feels like home away from home for me. The river calls my name when I am there, and I am happy to listen.
What makes this property unique
We love sharing the property with our guests. Knowing guests are spending time making memories with their family and friends while at our place makes it very special for us as hosts. Watching the river roll by is one of our favorite things, especially when the fog moves in or wildlife shows up, it brings us peace and joy. We hope sharing this special piece of heaven on Earth is something we get to do for a very long time.
