Incredible Location, Family Friendly Experience
Walker’s home is extremely close to the beach, a quick 1 minute walk across the street to the public access. Recommend not bringing a wagon as there are steps. We used an oversized laundry backpack to haul our stuff and it worked great. The beach is technically Litchfield but very close to Pawley’s Island and the two are absolutely gorgeous. Bring your own beach gear and household supplies if you’re staying the week. The beds were very comfortable and the temperature regulated through a smart thermostat was perfect. The screen porch was well used- it’s breezy and cool and overlooks the other homes but it’s a wonderful spot for families to gather. There is no major dining area but having six barstools and four dining spots in the adjacent room from the kitchen made meals easy. The stove, oven and dishwasher are all brand new. It was super convenient having the outside shower/sand rinse off and the laundry room- we used it almost daily! I would highly recommend the Skelton house to any family looking for a comfortable and old fashioned beach experience. You can walk to Austin’s/Litchfield Inn and everything in Pawley’s, Litchfield and Murrells Inlet are a very short drive and we experienced very little traffic in those areas. Pawley’s Island Bakery was delicious for a special family birthday morning breakfast. Overall we absolutely loved staying at the Skelton home and would love to come back. Great for families and those with small children, babies or teenagers.
