2BD Traditional Mediterranean Family House 10min from the beach

The traditional Mediterranean House is a fully recently renovated (March 2019) family house, dating from the beginning of the 20th century (from the time of the Italian occupation of the island, 1912-1943). It was originally built by the Italians according to their traditional building style, with bricks made with local clay that the Italians produced at that time in their brick factory outside the village. The house belonged always to our family property as our ancestors worked for the Italians in the brick factory.
The very comfortable 2 bedroom house has free WiFi, is 80 sqm and it has a spacious living room with a flat-screen Satelite TV and a DVD-player, large bright air-conditioned rooms, which are elegantly decorated with traditional furnishings. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, fitted with an oven, a microwave and a refrigerator; a toaster and an electric kettle are also provided. There is a private bath with shower and a hair-dryer. Towels and linen are offered, while a washing machine is available free of charge.
The family-run house is surrounded by its own well-kept garden with citrus trees, roses and Mediterranean herbs and a patio of 70 sqm, where you can relax and enjoy in your privacy the beautiful garden, either in the shade of the trees or in the sun, using the sun beds provided. You can also enjoy your breakfast and meals in the furnished, stone-paved garden terrace, where also some play facilities for children are provided.
The house is situated at the entrance of the village Gennadi, which is a small, quiet, traditional village at the south-eastern part of the island of Rhodes. Within a very short walking distance of the house, you can find a pizzeria, restaurants, traditional taverns, cafes, bars and shops. The post office, cash machines (ATM), the medical centre, the pharmacy, the bus station, a small playground for children, the bakery, the grocery and the fruit shop are located in just a 5-minutes’ walk from the house.
The beautiful beach of the village is only 350 meters away from the house, where you can find sun beds, water sport facilities and restaurants. Prassonissi, a famous beach for windsurfers, is located 17km away from the village Gennadi.
The famous village of Lindos with the ancient Acropoliis is 20 km from the house, while the town of Rhodes is 65 km from the property. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings including swimming, hiking, cycling, water sports and fishing. The Rhodes International Airport is located 65 km from the property.
A free a welcome basket with fresh fruit, traditional sweets and everything that you need to make you feel comfortable during the beginning of your staying is provided in the house on the day of your arrival.
You can enjoy a walk in the narrow paved streets of the village, where you will see the typical traditional houses with their blossomed court yards, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. You can also visit the old Greek orthodox church of Saint John with the imposing bell tower at the entrance and its picturesque court yard decorated with a beautiful mosaic floor, made with small pebbles. Another opportunity to explore the beauties of the village is to follow the paved walkway through the fieldes, full of citrus and pomegranate trees, taste the fresh water from the natural spring and finish your walking tour at the old byzantine church of Saint Anastasia, located in the Greek orthodox cemetery of the village, which is surrounded by huge cypress trees.
