About this property
Spectacular 270 Degree View of Bustling Ocean Front
Located at the edge of Gun Point Cove, The Studio, is a rare property. The highest tides flow under the deck and from the living room, you are sitting eye-level to lobstermen hauling their traps just yards away. Unrestricted and spectacular 270 degree views of bustling Casco Bay. This is the perfect get-away where a weary soul can rejuvenate and be inspired by Nature’s best.
The secluded pebble beach just a few steps away, is the ultimate for searching for sea glass and contains a large tidal pool where squid, fish, lobsters and crabs can usually be found by brave individuals willing to wade into the knee-deep cool sea water.
Moonlit nights are absolutely breathtaking. With none of the typical city-light pollution, the true colors of the night shine through and the moon light reflects vividly off a jet-black shimmering mirror.
This property is perfect for two, but accommodates four. It is the little sister to The Point (Vrbo 683109) located nearby. Both properties share a solar-heated saltwater swimming pool which is located between the cottages.

About the host
Hosted by Sheri Blackstone
This gorgeous piece of land is now owned and maintained by the three eldest brothers of the Dostie family- Paul, Jack and Dan. They all live on various spots along the peninsula.

"We are so happy that you are able to enjoy The Studio as it truly is a special place."
Why they chose this property
The Gun Point peninsula has a rich history beginning with Native Americans, later including pirates, bootleggers and smugglers. There was also abundant industry here for a time. At the turn of the century, Dan’s Ice Pond (a freshwater pond located more inland on the peninsula) was created to harvest ice. Ice was shipped all along the East Coast as far as Florida. During the Colonial War supplies were blocked by the British; subsequently a “salt works” was built on Gun Point Creek to process sea salt. Since then, the peninsula has served as a docking area for lobster fishing, clam and mussel harvesting, seaweed harvesting and a fabulous vacation spot. In the early 1960’s, Jules and Yvette Dostie with partners and friends, bought the entirety of Gun Point; built the road and developed the land.
What makes this property unique
Located at the very tip of the Gun Point peninsula, you can experience spectacular views that will make you fall in love with this unique place. While enjoying morning coffee or dining al fresco on the front deck, you can watch lobster boats getting their daily catch, and sailboats on their way to Boothbay Harbor. It is an exceptional place where you can enjoy the pool, walk the beach, collect sea glass and shells, or just relax and enjoy the summer days.
