Damp apartment with nice water view

My honest and fair review: We stayed in one of two basement apartments in February. Kitchen is nice, recently renovated. Terrace is huge with water views. Moisture: There’s only one heater in the house and it didn’t adequately heat or eliminate the humidity in the back end of the apartment where the bedrooms are. As a result, there was mold on the ceiling and wall of the bedroom. Even the bedding felt damp. I told the owner about the mold problem on our last day. As we were leaving he arrived with special mold cleaner/paint. However the apartment needs a dehumidifier which is costly to run, because electricity is expensive in Italy. Location: Good and bad. Good because there are water views and the apartment is a short walk to the beach (although the path to the beach is a little grungy). Bad because the house is up a steep narrow street and turning into the driveway is an adventure. Once you turn in, it’s a steep driveway down to the parking lot. Getting out is also a challenge. If you are not a confident driver, stay away. Owners: We met father and son upon arrival. Son speaks decent English and would promptly respond to texts; nice people.
